Abstract
Abstract: Leading sectors play a vital role in driving the economic growth of a region. Lima Puluh Kota Regency possesses several leading plantation commodities, including cocoa, areca nut, tobacco, coconut, cinnamon, clove, gambier, robusta coffee, and sugar palm. The COVID-19 pandemic has affected the economy, including the plantation sector. This study aims to examine the production trends of these leading plantation commodities in Lima Puluh Kota Regency. The research employs a descriptive method by analyzing the annual growth rate of production. The highest recorded production growth rates were: cocoa at 161.6% in 2024, areca nut at 28% in 2022, tobacco at 93.1% in 2020, coconut at 29.2% in 2021, cinnamon at 26.2% in 2021, clove at 170.6% in 2024, gambier at 115.8% in 2023, robusta coffee at 17% in 2022, and sugar palm at 38.6% in 2024. Â Keyword: plantation; production. Â Abstrak: Sektor unggulan memiliki peranan penting untuk mendorong pertumbuhan ekonomi suatu daerah. Kabupaten Lima Puluh Kota memiliki komoditas perkebunan yang menjadi unggulan, yaitu kakao, pinang, tembakau, kelapa, kulit manis, cengkeh, gambir, kopi robusta, dan enau. Adanya pandemi covid-19 berpengaruh terhadap perekonomian termasuk juga sektor perkebunan. Tujuan penelitian melihat perkembangan produksi komoditas perkebunan unggulan Kabupaten Lima Puluh Kota. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode deskriptif yang menjelaskan analisis pertumbuhan produksi tahunan (Annual Growth Rate). Pertumbuhan produksi tertinggi kakao sebesar 161,6 % pada tahun 2024, pinang sebesar 28 % pada tahun 2022, tembakau sebesar 93,1 % pada tahun 2020, kelapa sebesar 29,2 % pada tahun 2021, kulit manis sebesar 26,2% pada tahun 2021, cengkeh sebesar 170,6 % pada tahun 2024, gambir sebesar 115,8 % pada tahun 2023, kopi robusta sebesar 17 % pada tahun 2022, enau sebesar 38,6 % pada tahun 2024.
