Abstract
This study aims to examine the effect of human resource development on employee performance at the Department of Education of North Toraja Regency. The research employed a quantitative approach with an explanatory research design. The study population consisted of 31 employees, all of whom were selected as respondents using a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected through structured questionnaires developed based on indicators of human resource development and employee performance. Data analysis was conducted using IBM SPSS Statistics, including validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, simple linear regression analysis, t-test, and the coefficient of determination (R²). The findings indicate that all research instruments are valid and reliable. The regression model also satisfies the assumptions of normality, absence of multicollinearity, and absence of heteroscedasticity. The hypothesis testing reveals that human resource development has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, with a t value of 7.215 and a significance level of 0.000 (<0.05). Furthermore, the coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.642 indicates that human resource development explains 64.2% of the variation in employee performance. These findings imply that strengthening human resource development programs can significantly improve employee competence, productivity, and overall organizational performance within the Department of Education of North Toraja Regency.
