DEVELOPING A GROWTH MINDSET IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHERS: A TRAINING GUIDE TO ENHANCE DEEP LEARNING

Wahdeni, Tuti khairani, Khairani Hasibuan, Hamka
Abstract: The training program “Developing a Growth Mindset Among Elementary School Teachers: A Training Guide for Enhancing Deep Learning” was organized by the Department of Education of Mandailing Natal Regency to strengthen teachers’… teachers’ pedagogical competence and foster a student-centered learning culture. This initiative was motivated by the 2022 PISA results, which revealed that more than 99% of Indonesian students could only solve problems at lower levels (Lower Order Thinking Skills), while less than 1% reached higher levels (Higher Order Thinking Skills). One of the underlying causes is the prevalence of a fixed mindset among teachers—the belief that intelligence is innate and difficult to change. This training aimed to cultivate a growth mindset based on Carol S. Dweck’s (2006) theory, which emphasizes that abilities can be developed through effort and learning strategies. The method employed was a reflective andragogical workshop involving material presentations, microteaching simulations, and collaborative reflections. The results indicated a significant improvement in teachers’ understanding of the growth mindset concept and its implementation in deep learning. Teachers began providing process praise, applying The Power of Yet strategy, and creating emotionally safe and collaborative classroom environments. Furthermore, the establishment of the Growth-Oriented Teacher Community of Mandailing Natal (KGB-Madina) emerged as a sustainable platform for sharing best teaching practices and fostering continuous professional growth.

Nunu Febriana, Inayah Mutmainnah, Yudhi Andrew Pratama Leomindong
Abstract: This study aims to identify the local government’s policy strategy in developing tourism in North Galesong, Takalar Regency. The research uses a qualitative method, with data collected through observation, interviews, and… and documentation. The informants in this study consist of five individuals with different occupational backgrounds. The findings show that: (1) The local government’s strategy for developing tourism in North Galesong focuses on infrastructure development, digital promotion, and community empowerment through Pokdarwis (Tourism Awareness Group) training. Although there are still challenges such as limited facilities, insufficient promotion, and uneven mentoring, this strategy demonstrates the government’s commitment to achieving sustainable tourism. However, more systematic planning, technological support, and active community participation are needed to enhance tourism attractiveness. (2) The process of formulating the tourism development strategy begins with identifying obstacles such as limited funding and human resources, which are addressed through collaboration among the government, community, academics, and private sector. Strategic priorities are determined by considering economic factors, local culture, and environmental sustainability. Furthermore, the community is empowered through Pokdarwis and supported by village funds, culminating in the implementation of a pentahelix collaboration model to ensure that the strategy is well-directed, participatory, and sustainable.

Nurul Pratiwi, Eka Fitra Ramadani, Yudhi Andrew Pratama Lumoindon
Abstract: The study aims to analyze the role of the Office of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (DP3A) in handling cases of child abuse in Gowa Regency. The research employs a qualitative approach, with data collected through… hrough observation, interviews, and documentation. The focus of this study is to examine how DP3A carries out its role in addressing child abuse in Gowa Regency and to identify the inhibiting factors it faces in handling such cases. The findings reveal that DP3A Gowa Regency plays a strategic role in addressing child abuse through preventive measures such as community outreach and education, case handling through the UPTD PPA with legal and psychological services, and child recovery programs including counseling, therapy, and social reintegration. Collaboration with schools, the police, the Social Affairs Office, NGOs, and the establishment of a Children’s Forum further strengthens the child protection system in the region. However, the study also identifies several inhibiting factors, including a shortage of professional human resources, limited operational funding, and low public awareness influenced by patriarchal culture and the normalization of violence. These obstacles result in limited services, delays in case handling, and a large number of unreported cases. In conclusion, DP3A Gowa Regency plays an essential role in creating a comprehensive child protection ecosystem, although it still requires greater support in terms of human resource capacity, funding, and shifts in societal paradigms to ensure optimal child protection

Durratulhikmah, Fauziah, Nurul Amna
Abstract: Hypertension is a non-communicable disease indicated by high blood pressure above 140/90 mmHg. This condition leads to major complications if treatment is not received. As a result, managing health is essential to control… rol hypertension. The study aims to investigate the relationship between self-care and the decrease in blood pressure among hypertensive patients in Sukamakmur Public Health Center. The population was 110 hypertensive patients, and 86 respondents were selected as the sample using a random sampling technique. The research was conducted from 15 to 21 April 2025. A quantitative correlational research design was used with a cross-sectional approach. The research instruments were the Hypertension Self-Management Behavior Questionnaire (HSMBQ) and blood pressure assessed using a digital sphygmomanometer. The data that was analyzed from the Chi-Square test analysis showed a p-value of 0.020 (p<0.05). This finding indicated a relationship between self-care management and blood pressure decline in hypertensive patients at the Sukamakmur Community Health Center. This study suggests that patients should be more active and consistently do self-care management to help maintain stable blood pressure levels.

Kogoya, Napius, Halitopo, Manase
Abstract: This study analyzes the phenomenon of homophone pyramid language in the Lani Tribe of Papua Pegunungan, revealing that homophones in the Lani language are not merely linguistic coincidences but embody unique phonological… patterns and semantic variations deeply connected to the tribe’s cultural and environmental context. Through descriptive linguistic analysis and field-based data collection, the study identifies several instances of lexical homophony such as tu (“door” / “road”), mayu (“rain” / “salt”), nengge (“eat” / “drink”), ngilu (“cucumber” / “snack”), eyo (“tree” / “barren”), kolee (“leader” / “older man”), abila (“pregnant” / “fat man”), and anuka (“head” / “Anuak tribe”). These examples demonstrate that meaning in the Lani language is primarily determined by contextual cues and pragmatic usage. The findings suggest that homophones in Lani function as linguistic features and cultural expressions that reflect the tribe’s perception of nature, community roles, and social identity. This research contributes to a broader understanding of Papuan linguistics and underscores the importance of preserving indigenous languages as repositories of cultural knowledge and intellectual heritage.
