Abstract:Artificial intelligence (AI) integration in language education offers new opportunities to address challenges in English as a Foreign Language (EFL) contexts. This study examines the effectiveness of Copilot in enhancing…
academic English literacy among Indonesian undergraduates. Using a quantitative quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and post-test control group, 60 students were divided into experimental and control groups. Instruments included comprehension tests, learner autonomy questionnaires, and rubric-based writing assessments. Results showed significant improvements in the experimental group. Academic text comprehension increased, particularly in vocabulary mastery (+12%), rhetorical structures (+15%), and recognition of formal registers (+10%). Copilot usage positively predicted learner autonomy, with gains in goal-setting (+14%), strategy selection (+11%), and self-evaluation (+13%). Writing performance also improved, especially in coherence (+13%), argumentation (+16%), and adherence to conventions (+12%). The findings confirm Copilot’s role as both corrective aid and developmental partner, fostering academic literacy and learner autonomy. Implications suggest integrating AI tools into EFL curricula to strengthen academic discourse and independent learning.
Abstract:Muaro Sentajo possesses the potential to be developed as a production hub for native orchid species due to its location within the natural habitat of orchid species in Kuantan Singingi Regency, directly bordering the Sentajo…
tajo Raya protected forest. Furthermore, the village has an underutilized female labor potential, organized within the Family Welfare Movement (Pemberdayaan dan Kesejahteraan Keluarga / PKK) as the foundational collective for rural women in Muaro Sentajo. This initiative aims to provide knowledge on native orchid species, cultivation techniques, integrated systems with stingless bees (kelulut), and digital marketing. The program implemented a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach, consisting of asset mapping, practical cultivation workshops, e-commerce platform development, and four months of intensive mentoring. This empowerment program successfully established an active orchid breeding group managing more than 15 native orchid species. Additionally, 83.66% of the participants demonstrated proficiency in operating digital marketing channels (Instagram and Shopee), resulting in the first independent commercial sales of local orchid products. The integration of local ecological assets with modern digital marketing proved effective in enhancing the economic independence of rural women and promoting sustainable community development.

ding volume before and after Cum-Ex Dividend announcements. This study was motivated by differences in investor behavior in responding to dividend distribution information, which is regarded as a positive signal for the market. The research employed a comparative quantitative method with an event study approach. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. Secondary data were obtained from the Indonesia Stock Exchange, comprising a sample of 88 issuers that distributed cash dividends. Research variables consisted of stock prices and stock trading volume. Data analysis was performed using dummy regression and the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test with EViews 12 software. The results showed that the majority of issuers (81.82%) experienced significant market reactions to the Cum-Ex Dividend announcement. A total of 56.82% of issuers showed significant negative reactions consistent with the dividend drop theory, while 25% showed significant positive reactions, indicating that investors viewed dividends as a positive signal for company prospects. Meanwhile, 18.18% of issuers showed no significant reaction to dividend announcements. This study demonstrates that Cum-Ex Dividend announcements affect abnormal returns and stock trading volume, thus providing a basis for investor consideration in making investment decisions in the capital market.

gital platforms, such as social media, marketplaces, digital payment applications, and technology-based financial recording systems, is expected to improve operational efficiency and expand marketing reach. However, the level of digital technology utilization by 3 Kg LPG distribution outlets remains varied, necessitating a more in-depth study of the impact of digitalization on business performance. This study aims to analyze the impact of digitalization on MSME performance based on interviews with owners and managers of 3 Kg LPG distribution outlets under PT Pinang Baris Langit Biru. The study employed a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation of 3 Kg LPG distribution outlets that have implemented digitalization in their business activities. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research results indicate that the implementation of digitalization has a positive impact on MSME performance, particularly at 3 Kg LPG distribution outlets, including increasing sales, expanding market share, accelerating transaction processes, improving promotional effectiveness, and simplifying business administration and financial management. However, several obstacles remain, such as low digital literacy, limited human resources, and limited access to technology. Therefore, support in the form of training, mentoring, and government policies is needed to improve digital capabilities at 3 Kg LPG distribution outlets so that digital transformation can proceed optimally.
Abstract:Handwashing with soap is one of the most effective public health measures for preventing gastrointestinal and respiratory infections among children. However, despite ongoing health education efforts, many children still…
do not perform proper handwashing techniques. Interactive educational approaches, such as demonstration methods combined with songs, may enhance children's practical skills more effectively than conventional instruction. This study aimed to determine the effect of health education using a demonstration method on handwashing with soap skills among children in the BTN AL community, Entrop Subdistrict, South Jayapura District. A quantitative study with a one-group pretest-posttest pre-experimental design was conducted involving 20 child participants selected through total sampling. The intervention consisted of a live demonstration of the WHO six-step handwashing technique accompanied by a modified version of the children's song Naik Becak. Participants' handwashing skills were assessed before and after the intervention using the WHO Standard Hand Hygiene Observation Checklist. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. The findings demonstrated a significant improvement in children's handwashing skills following the intervention. Before receiving health education, most participants were unable to perform the recommended handwashing procedure correctly. After the intervention, 18 participants (90%) successfully demonstrated all six handwashing steps independently, while only two participants (10%) still required assistance. Statistical analysis showed a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores (p < 0.001). The study concludes that health education delivered through a demonstration method combined with a modified children's song effectively improves handwashing with soap skills among children. This approach may serve as an innovative and engaging strategy for promoting healthy hygiene behaviors in early childhood.
Abstract:This study examines how a non-diasporic public in the Global South engages with a foreign election in which it holds no vote, no residence, and no direct material stake. Rather than asking how Indonesian netizens represent…
nt Zohran Mamdani, the first Muslim Mayor of New York City, it asks what talking about Mamdani does for these netizens as members of their own polity, and develops the concept of comparative civic imagination: the use of a foreign political figure as a discursive instrument for evaluating, criticising, and re-imagining one’s own democracy. The study applies qualitative Computer-Mediated Discourse Analysis (CMDA) to public Indonesian-language discourse about Mamdani on platform X between 1 November 2025 and 30 June 2026, drawing on a purposively constructed corpus of 213 units—134 citizen-account units as the analytical core and 79 media-account units as contextual triangulation—recoded by comparative function and affective register rather than by stance toward the figure. The findings show that Indonesian netizens engage Mamdani through a comparative architecture organised by the vernacular frame “Mamdani Indonesia” (45% of citizen units) and enacted through three repertoires: analogical personification, institutional benchmarking, and counterfactual transposition. The discourse is animated by civic despair—crystallised in the idiom “Indonesia could never”—which operates as a participatory rather than an apathetic affect, while a domestic value-compatibility filter of doctrinal, sectarian, and purity tests renders the admired model discursively non-transferable, closing a recursive loop theorised here as a digitally networked spectre of comparisons. The article shifts the analysis of transnational digital engagement away from cosmopolitan and diasporic assumptions toward the vicarious engagement of non-diasporic publics, re-theorises despair as a mode of civic engagement, and recovers Benedict Anderson’s spectre of comparisons for platform-era political communication in the Global South.
Abstract:Waste management has become one of the most persistent environmental challenges confronting rapidly growing urban areas in Indonesia. While previous studies have primarily explained waste management through technical infrastructure,…
rastructure, environmental awareness, or public policy, relatively little attention has been given to the interaction between environmental ethics and everyday social practices in shaping environmental behaviour. This study aims to examine how environmental ethics are translated into community waste management practices in Kendari City from the perspective of environmental sociology. A qualitative case study approach was employed using field observations, semi-structured interviews with 30 informants representing community members, religious leaders, community leaders, sanitation workers, and officials from the Kendari City Environmental Agency, as well as document analysis. The data were analysed using thematic analysis and interpreted through the analytical perspectives of Environmental Sociology, Social Practice Theory, Public Sphere Theory, and Political Ecology. The findings reveal that environmental ethics constitute an important normative foundation for environmental responsibility; however, their implementation in everyday waste management practices is mediated by socially embedded habitus, community values, institutional capacity, public discourse, and local governance. Waste management behaviour is therefore shaped not only by individual awareness but also by continuous interactions among social norms, institutional arrangements, and collective practices. The study concludes that sustainable urban waste management requires integrated approaches combining environmental ethics, community participation, participatory governance, and institutional collaboration. By integrating environmental ethics with environmental sociology, this study contributes to a broader understanding of the social dimensions of urban waste management and offers practical insights for strengthening community-based environmental governance in Indonesia.
Abstract:Plastic waste is an environmental problem that continues to increase along with the development of community economic activities, especially in traditional market areas. Mardika Market, Ambon City, as a center of trade and…
nd community economic activities, produces a fairly high volume of plastic waste, requiring effective and sustainable management. This study aims to analyze plastic waste management and its implications for community economic activities in the Mardika Market area of Ambon City. The study used a qualitative descriptive method with a literature study and document analysis approach. Data were obtained from publications from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the National Waste Management Information System (SIPSN), scientific journals, government reports, and various relevant documents. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that plastic waste management in the Mardika Market area still faces various challenges, including the high use of single-use plastics, limited community participation, and the suboptimal implementation of the Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle (3R) principles. These conditions have implications for the cleanliness and comfort of the market environment, which can affect community economic activities, especially visitor comfort and trading activities. Therefore, synergy between the government, traders, and the community is needed to improve the effectiveness of plastic waste management to support the creation of a clean, comfortable, and productive market environment.

the process of discovering their identity, are highly vulnerable to environmental and social influences that can lead to drug abuse. This study aims to determine the efforts made by the National Narcotics Agency (BNNK) of South Tapanuli Regency in preventing and handling drug abuse among adolescents in the South Tapanuli area. This study used a qualitative approach with field research methods. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. Informants in this study were employees of the BNNK of South Tapanuli, specifically the Prevention and Community Empowerment (P2M) team and the rehabilitation team. The results of the study indicate that prevention efforts are carried out through socialization, counseling, education, and collaboration with various parties in supporting the Prevention, Eradication of Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (P4GN) program. Meanwhile, handling efforts are carried out through assessment, counseling, rehabilitation, and post-rehabilitation monitoring for drug abusers. The obstacles faced include low awareness in some communities, the influence of social circles, stigma against former drug users, and developments in technology and social media. Therefore, collaboration between families, schools, communities, and the government is necessary to support successful efforts to prevent and address drug abuse in teenagers.
