However, the optimization of destination management in this city faces… s several challenges, such as limited human resources, inadequate infrastructure, low community awareness, and insufficient promotion strategies. This study aims to analyze the role of the Tourism Office in optimizing destination management, identify influencing factors, and formulate strategic efforts towards sustainable tourism management. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study method. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews with stakeholders (government, private sector, community, academia, and media), and document studies. The results show that the Tourism Office of Solok City plays a key role in four main functions: planning, implementation, coordination, and evaluation. Programs conducted between 2021 and 2024 include destination development, tourism promotion, human resource capacity building, and cross-sector partnerships. Internal and external factors such as budget constraints, infrastructure limitations, community participation, and destination competitiveness influence management effectiveness. The implementation of Good Governance principles participation, transparency, accountability, and efficiency along with Destination Management approaches, has guided policy and program implementation. However, some aspects, particularly cross-sectoral integration and innovation in tourism promotion, still need improvement. This study concludes that strengthening stakeholder synergy and enhancing institutional capacity are crucial for optimizing sustainable destination management in Solok City

IMPACT OF SOCIAL MEDIA USE IN POLITICAL CAMPAIGNS ON VOTER AWARENESS AMONG FIRST-TIME VOTERS AT SMAN 15 GARUT IN ELECTORAL PARTICIPATION

Ilham, Muhammad Ilham Fadilah
Abstract: The use of social media in political campaigns significantly impacts the political awareness of first-time voters at SMAN 15 Garut. Validity and reliability tests of the research instrument indicate that the questionnaire… e used is valid and reliable, allowing for accurate measurement of the desired concepts. Simple linear regression analysis reveals a positive relationship between the social media use variable (X) and the level of voter political awareness (Y), with social media explaining approximately 23.1% of the variation in voter awareness. Although significant, the influence of social media does not explain the entire variation in voter political awareness. Other factors outside the research variables also contribute, indicating the complexity in understanding the factors that influence the political awareness of first-time voters. Therefore, it is suggested to integrate social media use into better political campaign strategies, considering the characteristics of first-time voters. Increased digital access and knowledge also need to be strengthened so that first-time voters can participate more actively and effectively in the democratic process.

Mega Reforma, Yuliyanto Nugroho, Agung, Moch Nur Syamsu
Abstract: This study aims to analyze the management of batik as an educational tourism attraction based on local cultural values in Karanganyar Regency, with an emphasis on the involvement of the five key actors in the Penta Helix… model—government, academia, business sector, community, and media. Karanganyar possesses rich cultural heritage in the form of batik, which holds significant potential to be developed into an educational tourism destination. However, its current management still faces various challenges. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach, using in-depth interviews, field observations, and document studies for data collection. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis, referring to destination management theory (Cooper et al., 2008) and the concept of edu-tourism (Bodger, 1998). The results reveal that the management of batik educational tourism in Karanganyar has not yet been systematically integrated. Key issues identified include: (1) limited human resources with adequate competence, (2) conventional tourism practices, (3) lack of innovation in tourism product packaging, (4) insufficient institutional coordination and support, and (5) underdeveloped integration between cultural and educational tourism. While there is a strong commitment to cultural preservation from local communities and participation from business actors, structural support from the government and optimization of the media’s role require further enhancement. The implication of this research emphasizes the need for strengthened cross-sectoral collaboration through the Penta Helix framework, the formulation of specific policies for educational tourism development, as well as innovations in digital promotion and context-based cultural education curricula. This study is expected to serve as a reference for policymakers, tourism practitioners, and future researchers in promoting sustainable educational tourism rooted in local culture.

DISARTICULATION OF STUDENT VOICES AND STATE LEGITIMACY IN ONLINE MEDIA DISCOURSE: A CRITICAL ANALYSIS 2022–2024

Rimang, Siti Suwadah, Jusmaeni, Mufliha Khaeratih Agus, Suhardi
Abstract: This study examines how online media frames student demonstrations and how student voices are disarticulated in the news, especially in relation to the state's legitimacy strategy. The study period covers 2022 to 2024, when… hen the intensity of the student movement increased in response to various public policy issues. The main purpose of this research is to uncover the practice of digital mainstream media representation of student actions and dissect the ideological power relations between state actors and civil society groups in the realm of media discourse. The approach used is Norman Fairclough's three-dimensional model of Critical Discourse Analysis (AWK), which includes analysis at three levels: textual structure (lexical and syntactic), discourse practice (the process of production and consumption of texts), and social practice (ideological and institutional context). Five news articles from Kompas.com were analyzed in depth as the main sample. The results of the study show that online media tends to frame student actions through dictionaries that reduce the meaning of their struggle, such as "chaos," "secured," and "not conducive," while prioritizing quotes from state officials or security forces. This disarticulation plays a role in strengthening the state's authority in shaping public opinion and shows the tendency of the media as a hegemonic agent. These findings emphasize the urgency of ideological awareness-based media literacy so that people are able to criticize and not passively accept media discourse.

RELATIONSHIP OF BODY MASS INDEX WITH HbA1c MEASURES IN PATIENTS AT PRIMA MEDIKA DENPASAR HOSPITAL

S.A.N Diah Ratnasari Warassaty, Prasetya, Didik, Nyoman Sudarma
Abstract: The rising prevalence of obesity in Indonesia contributes to increased risk of metabolic diseases such as diabetes mellitus. Body Mass Index (BMI) is commonly used to assess nutritional status and may be correlated with… long-term blood glucose levels measured by Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c). This study aimed to explore the relationship between BMI and HbA1c levels in patients at Prima Medika General Hospital, Denpasar. A cross-sectional analytic observational design was employed, involving 30 purposively selected respondents. BMI was calculated from weight and height measurements, while HbA1c levels were assessed using the immunoturbidimetric method. Results showed an even distribution of respondents in the normal and overweight BMI categories (each 46.5%), while 50% had HbA1c levels >8%. However, Pearson correlation analysis indicated no statistically significant relationship between BMI and HbA1c levels (p=0.982; r=-0.004). The study concludes that BMI does not have a linear correlation with HbA1c levels. Other factors such as type and duration of therapy, disease progression, and patient adherence may play a greater role in influencing glycemic control and should be further investigated.
