BRIDGING DOCUMENTATION GAPS IN ELECTRONIC MEDICAL RECORDS: AN ANALYSIS OF INCOMPLETE MEDICAL ASSESSMENTS AND THEIR CONSEQUENCES FOR INA-CBGS REIMBUREMENT

However, incomplete… plete medical assessments remain a challenge, potentially leading to service gaps and reduced hospital claims. This qualitative descriptive study was conducted at Dharma Yadnya General Hospital, Denpasar, which has fully implemented EMR since 2024. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews with five informants: two medical record officers, the head of the emergency nursing unit, the head of the inpatient nursing unit, and the head of the medical record department. Data analysis used the 3M framework: Man, Method, and Material. From the Man aspect, heavy workloads of doctors and the lack of administrative support staff often caused delays and incomplete documentation. From the Method aspect, although Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and system reminders existed, monitoring relied mainly on manual follow-ups via WhatsApp groups, limiting effectiveness. From the Material aspect, the EMR system was user-friendly and supported by weekly vendor maintenance, but occasional network disruptions and insufficient administrative staff still hampered real-time documentation. Incomplete medical assessments in EMR directly affect INA-CBGs claims, especially when comorbidities, complications, or procedures are not recorded, resulting in under-coding and reduced reimbursement. Strengthening human resources, enforcing SOPs, and improving system support are essential to ensure documentation completeness, service quality, and financial sustainability

A SIMPLE STRATEGY OF LINEAR REGRESSION ON 8-BIT MICROCONTROLLER ADC TO IMPROVE SENSOR VALUE READING ACCURACY

Abstract: This study proposes a linear regression-based intelligent calibration approach to improve the accuracy of water turbidity sensor readings in an Arduino microcontroller-based embedded system. The primary objective of this… research is to develop a mathematical model capable of converting analog values ​​from the Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) into a numerical representation that reflects the actual water turbidity level in Nephelometric Turbidity Units (NTU). The calibration process was performed using a standard Hanna Turbidity Meter with water samples ranging from 0.56 NTU to 500 NTU. Measurement results demonstrated a strong linear relationship between the ADC value (495–686) and NTU, with an average system accuracy level above 90%. Comparison of sensor measurements with the standard instrument showed an error margin below 5%, confirming the reliability of the linear regression model in compensating for optical sensor nonlinearities.

DIFFERENCE IN URIC ACID TEST RESULTS USING PLAIN AND CLOT ACTIVATOR VACUTAINER TUBES

Abstract: Laboratory examinations play an important role in supporting disease diagnosis and treatment, one of which is the measurement of uric acid levels. The accuracy of laboratory results is significantly influenced by the pre-analytical… -analytical stage, including the type of blood collection tube used. Two commonly used tubes are the plain vacutainer and the clot activator vacutainer, each with different additives that may affect blood clotting time and test results. This study aimed to determine the differences in uric acid test results and clotting time using these two types of tubes. A simple experimental method with a comparative design was conducted at Klinik Pratama Rawat Jalan Mambal Medical Care from March to April 2025. The sample consisted of 15 respondents, each undergoing two blood draws using both tube types. The results showed that the average clotting time for the clot activator tube was 9.27 minutes, while for the plain tube it was 24.67 minutes. The average uric acid level measured using the clot activator tube was 5.27 mg/dL, compared to 5.14 mg/dL using the plain tube. Statistical analysis using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test indicated a significant difference in clotting time but no significant difference in uric acid levels (p > 0.05). It can be concluded that the use of clot activator vacutainer tubes accelerates the blood clotting process but does not significantly affect uric acid levels compared to plain tubes.

UTILIZATION OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI) AS A SOURCE OF TEACHING MATERIALS FOR TEACHERS: ANALYSIS OF POTENTIAL, CHALLENGES, AND CONTENT ACCURACY

Abstract: The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology is currently progressing very rapidly and has had a major influence on various sectors, including the education sector, offering great potential in compiling engaging… aging and relevant teaching materials. However, teachers still face challenges related to limitations in time, energy, technological understanding, and the accuracy of AI-generated content. Findings from the analysis show that AI has a significant capability to support teachers in designing learning materials relevant to student needs, as well as testing the accuracy of AI-generated content related to the learning material. Using a non-participant observation method, data was collected through social media, unstructured interviews with lecturers, teachers, and the general public, as well as testing the content of AI platforms such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Meta AI. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach to analyze the data. The study's findings reveal that artificial intelligence has a significant capacity to support educators in designing learning materials, while also optimizing time productivity and teaching innovation. However, the accuracy of AI content, although quite high for basic concepts, often does not include specific sources or references, thus requiring manual verification by teachers. The main challenges include a lack of training and technological understanding. It is recommended that teachers undergo AI training and always verify AI content with trusted sources.

EFFECT OF DELAY TIME IN URINE EXAMINATION ON ALCOHOL CONCENTRATION

Abstract: Urine alcohol testing plays a vital role in detecting alcohol consumption for clinical and forensic purposes, yet its results may be influenced by pre-analytical factors such as the delay between sample collection and laboratory… boratory analysis. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of delay time before urine examination on alcohol concentration. An experimental One-Shot Case Study design was conducted involving 44 participants in Denpasar who had consumed alcohol. Alcohol concentration was measured immediately, after a 2-hour delay, and after a 4-hour delay using the Alcohol Urine Rapid Test Dipstick Allchek, and the data were analyzed using the Kruskal-Wallis test. The findings showed that average urine alcohol levels increased numerically after a 2- and 4-hour delay compared to immediate testing; however, this change was not statistically significant (p=0.131). These results confirm that delaying urine alcohol examination up to 4 hours does not significantly alter detectable alcohol concentrations, although prompt testing is still recommended to ensure result accuracy and minimize the risk of false positives. This study provides important insights for the development of standard operating procedures regarding urine alcohol analysis in laboratory practice.

OVERVIEW OF THE PERCENTAGE OF ACCURACY IN CODING PNEUMONIA DIAGNOSES BASED ON ICD-10 ACCORDING TO PNPK 2023 AT THE UDAYANA TYPE II HOSPITAL IN DENPASAR CITY

Abstract: The accuracy of disease diagnosis coding is an important indicator in the management of medical records and health service claims. This study aims to determine the percentage of accuracy in coding pneumonia diagnoses based… ed on ICD-10 according to the 2023 National Medical Practice Guidelines (PNPK) at Udayana Hospital II in Denpasar. The research method used was quantitative descriptive with a total sampling approach of 72 medical records of pneumonia patients during the period from October 1, 2024, to December 31, 2024. The research instrument was a checklist for assessing the accuracy of diagnosis codes based on the provisions of ICD-10 and PNPK Pneumonia 2023. The results showed that 51 files (70.8%) were coded accurately, while 21 files (29.2%) were coded inaccurately. The inaccuracy in coding was due to a lack of supporting tests, such as microbiological tests, as well as the excessive workload of the coders. These findings indicate the need for an analysis of coders' workload to measure the effectiveness and efficiency of their tasks, time management, and priorities. This study is expected to serve as evaluation material to improve the quality of service and efficiency of hospital administration.

ANALYSIS OF THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE HOSPITAL MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM (SIMRS) ON OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY AT XYZ HOSPITAL PAMEKASAN

Abstract: This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Hospital Management Information System (HMIS) and its impact on operational efficiency at XYZ Hospital in Pamekasan. In the digital era, hospitals are required to enhance… nce service quality and operational efficiency through the utilization of information technology. HMIS is an innovation designed to integrate managerial and administrative processes within hospitals, including patient data recording, resource management, and other healthcare service procedures. This research adopts a descriptive qualitative approach with purposive sampling techniques, involving informants such as medical personnel, administrative staff, and hospital management who are directly involved in the use of HMIS.The results indicate that the implementation of HMIS has a positive impact on the hospital’s operational efficiency, including the acceleration of administrative processes, improved data accuracy, and easier coordination between work units. However, the implementation also faces several challenges, such as limited technological infrastructure, user resistance to change, and insufficient training for staff. These findings are supported by the HOT-Fit framework and Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), all of which emphasize the importance of technological readiness, human resource competence, and organizational commitment in ensuring the successful adoption of HMIS.  

ACCURACY OF TIMING IN TSH SAMPLE COLLECTION FOR CONGENITAL HYPOTHYROIDISM SCREENING AT PRIMA MEDIKA GENERAL HOSPITAL DENPASAR

Abstract: Congenital hypothyroidism (CH) is an endocrine disorder that can cause developmental delays if not detected and treated early. Congenital Hypothyroidism Screening (CHS) aims to detect abnormal levels of Thyroid Stimulating… ng Hormone (TSH) in newborns before clinical symptoms appear. The timing of blood sample collection is a critical factor because TSH levels physiologically surge within the first 24 hours of life. This study aims to determine the accuracy of TSH sampling time in CH screening at Prima Medika General Hospital, Denpasar. A descriptive analytical method was used with a total sampling technique involving 105 neonates who underwent CHS from October to December 2024. Secondary data were obtained from laboratory request forms and the Laboratory Information System (LIS). Results showed that 92.4% of samples were collected on the second day of life, which aligns with the ideal window of 48–72 hours, and only 1.9% of neonates had elevated TSH levels. The study concludes that most sample collections met the recommended timing, contributing to valid results and effective CHS implementation. Timely sampling plays a vital role in early CH detection and reflects the overall quality of neonatal laboratory services.

DESCRIPTION OF LOW DENSITY LIPOPROTEIN (LDL) LEVELS AND FASTING COMPLIANCE IN OUTPATIENT CARDIAC PATIENTS AT RSU PRIMA MEDIKA DENPASAR IN THE MONTHS OF FEBRUARY TO MARCH 2025

Abstract: Cardiovascular disease remains a leading cause of death both globally and nationally, with Low Density Lipoprotein(LDL) levels serving as a key biochemical indicator in the screening and management of heart disease. Accurate&#8230; rate LDL testing requires adherence to pre-analytical procedures, particularly fasting for 10-12 hours. This study aimed to describe LDL levels and fasting compliance among outpatient cardiac patients at RSU Prima Medika Denpasar. A descriptive cross-sectional design was used with purposive sampling, involving 35 cardiac outpatients from February to March 2025. Data were collected through interviews and laboratory examinations using the Furuno CA-270 device. Results showed that 71% of respondents had LDL levels >100 mg/dL, indicating high levels, while 29% hadnormal levels (<100 mg/dL). All respondents (100%) complied with the fasting requirement. These findings indicate that high LDL levels are still commonly found among outpatient cardiac patients, particularly in productive-age males. The high level of fasting compliance reflects the effectiveness of pre-analytical patient education. This study emphasizes the importance of routine lipid screening and continuous education to enhance laboratory diagnostic accuracy and prevent cardiovascular complications.

QUANTITATIVE ROADMAP: EXPLORING METHODOLOGY THROUGH THE LENS LITERATURE REVIEW

Abstract: Quantitative research is a crucial foundation in the scientific landscape to understand phenomena objectively and measurably. Although essential, there is often a gap between methodological idealism and research practice,&#8230; , especially among novice researchers, which is indicated by the use of quantitative methods that are not optimal in student theses due to lack of mastery of methodology and statistics, marked by inconsistencies in variable logic, lack of theoretical basis, data bias, sampling technique errors, to inaccuracy in testing the validity of instruments and statistical analysis. Through a systematic and comprehensive literature review, this article aims to present a complete picture of the “roadmap” of quantitative research, including the essence, principles, key stages (starting from problem formulation, sample determination, instrument development, data collection, to analysis and interpretation of results), and its various types, rooted in the positivist paradigm that emphasizes objectivity and hypothesis testing. Although quantitative research offers significant advantages such as time efficiency and generalizability, challenges such as difficulty in data collection and lack of in-depth analysis also need to be overcome, so improving methodological and statistical training is crucial to producing valid, accountable scientific work that contributes significantly to the development of science.
