INTEGRATING ISLAMIC ETHICS AND CLINICAL SAFETY IN SUNNAH CUPPING THERAPY SERVICES

Isdianto, Andik, Fitrianti, Novariza, Arif, Abdul Hamid, Widada, Wahyudi
Abstract: Sunnah cupping therapy (al-hijamah) is a popular Islamic healing method practiced globally. Despite its spiritual roots, it poses clinical risks, including infections, vasovagal shock, and procedural inconsistencies, often… en due to non-sterile tools and untrained practitioners. This study aims to explore how Islamic ethical values—sincerity (ikhlas), trust (amanah), and halal compliance—can be integrated with clinical responsibilities such as sterilization protocols, informed consent, and therapist competency. A thematic qualitative literature review was conducted using Islamic jurisprudence, fatwas (DSN-MUI), WHO and Ministry of Health (Indonesia) guidelines from 2015–2025. Findings reveal that neglecting the maqashid sharia principle of hifzh an-nafs (protection of life) contradicts both Islamic ethics and medical safety. Sunnah cupping services rooted in both spiritual values and professional protocols are more trusted by Muslim patients and improve therapeutic legitimacy. This study highlights the urgent need for national SOPs, certified training, and the development of Islamic cupping clinics with integrated protocols. These clinics can serve as models of sharia-compliant, clinically responsible health services. The research offers practical recommendations for Islamic medical institutions and policy-makers in strengthening Islamic-based complementary therapies in modern healthcare systems.

EMOTION REGULATION STRATEGIES IN HADITH PERSPECTIVE AND THEIR RELEVANCE TO CONTEMPORARY PSYCHOLOGY

Razilhija, Eriska, Romlah Abubakar Askar, Abdul Ghofur
Abstract: This study aims to examine emotion regulation strategies from the perspective of Hadith and their relevance to contemporary psychology. The main focus of this research is on three Hadiths that provide guidance on managing… g emotions, particularly anger: Hadith Abu Dawud no. 4150 on reciting ta'awudz when angry, Hadith Abu Dawud no. 4151 on changing body posture when angry, and Hadith Isnad Shahih no. 9630 on the prohibition of anger. These three Hadiths teach techniques that can help individuals manage their emotions effectively, such as seeking protection from Allah, changing physical conditions to relieve tension, and restraining from anger. From the perspective of contemporary psychology, these strategies resemble emotion regulation approaches found in theories such as cognitive reappraisal and emotion regulation strategies, which aim to change perception or physiological responses to negative emotions. This research also reveals how teachings in the Hadith can be used as a foundation to understand emotion regulation more holistically, integrating both spiritual and psychological dimensions. Through this understanding, the study highlights the importance of integrating Islamic teachings with contemporary psychological principles to create a more comprehensive approach to managing human emotions, particularly anger, in the modern world.

INTEGRATING SHARIA VALUES AND MEDICAL STANDARDS IN SAFE AND ETHICAL SUNNAH CUPPING PRACTICES

Isdianto, Andik, Fitrianti, Novariza, Arif, Abdul Hamid, Widada, Wahyudi
Abstract: Sunnah cupping therapy (hijamah) is a form of prophetic medicine that combines spiritual and therapeutic dimensions but often lacks adherence to clinical safety standards. This study aims to analyze the urgency of integrating… ating Sharia values—particularly maqashid shariah (protection of life) and la dharara wa la dhirar—with emergency medical protocols in sunnah cupping practice. The research uses a normative-qualitative literature review method. Data were collected from recent academic sources and analyzed through content analysis to develop an ethical and procedural framework. Findings reveal that sunnah cupping carries clinical risks such as infection, bleeding, and vasovagal shock when performed without medical protocols. The integration of Sharia and medical principles is operationalized through emergency training, Islamic-based SOPs, and education-regulation mechanisms rooted in maqashid. Core Islamic ethics—such as ikhlas (intention), amanah (trust), and tathir al-adawat (sterilization)—are essential moral pillars within the clinical service model. This study concludes that the integration of Sharia values with emergency medical preparedness is a critical need in the practice of sunnah cupping. The study recommends the development of standardized curricula, clinic certification, and first aid (CPR) training for therapists to ensure safety, professionalism, and religious legitimacy.

LEGAL ANALYSIS OF THE HOLDERS OF RESPONSIBILITY RIGHTS WHOSE RIGHTS WERE TRANSFERRED BECAUSE THEIR GRANT WAS CANCELLED BY THE BANDA ACEH SYAR’IYAH COURT

Deddy Yusuf, Zahratul Idami, Teuku Saiful
Abstract: Article 6 of Law No. 4 of 1996 gives creditors the right to execute parate against the object of the mortgage. However, in decision No. 0112/Pdt.G/2017/MS-BNA, the Sharia Court annulled the deed of gift. This study aims… to analyze the judge's considerations, the legal force of certificates and deeds in bank mortgages, and legal protection for mortgage holders. This study is a normative legal study. Data were collected and then analyzed qualitatively. The results of the study indicate that the judge annulled the gift because it did not meet the legal requirements according to Islamic law and the Compilation of Islamic Law. The decision has implications for the cancellation of all related documents, including the certificate of ownership, the deed of granting mortgage rights, and the credit agreement, so that they no longer have legal force as debt collateral. Legal protection of creditors due to cancellation of grants according to Article 11131 of the Civil Code, even though the collateral guarantee is cancelled, the creditor still has legal protection through general guarantees, namely that all of the debtor's assets can be used as objects of debt fulfillment and the creditor can request seizure of collateral and the application of the principle of good faith of the bank that has acted according to the procedure for granting credit. It is expected that judges will prioritize the principles of justice, proportionality, the principle of good faith, and substantive justice in banking and financing practices in Indonesia.

THE DETERMINATION OF STATE BASELINES POST-PEAT ABRASION ON BENGKALIS ISLAND AS INDONESIA'S FOREMOST ISLAND IN TERMS OF INTERNATIONAL LAW OF THE SEA PERSPECTIVE

Cahyani, Harpita Dwi, Maria Maya Lestari, Ledy Diana
Abstract: Coastal abrasion is a growing global concern, particularly for Indonesia, a country with one of the longest coastlines in the world. Abrasion poses significant challenges to coastal ecosystems and the livelihoods of local… l communities. Bengkalis Island, one of Indonesia's outermost and foremost islands, has experienced intensified abrasion in recent decades. Located in Riau Province and facing the Strait of Malacca, this peat-contoured island serves as a basepoint for Indonesia's archipelagic baselines. This research aims to: (1) analyze the legal implications of peat erosion on Indonesia's baselines post-erosion, and (2) describe the Indonesian government's efforts to address the issue.  This normative legal research examines the synchronization between national regulations and international standards regarding peatland conservation and erosion mitigation, particularly in strategically important foremost islands. The study reveals two key findings. First, peat abrasion on Bengkalis Island has serious legal implications for determining Indonesia's archipelagic baselines and maritime boundaries under UNCLOS 1982. Abrasion also threatens the island's status as an outermost and foremost island, potentially leading to the loss of Indonesia's rights over natural resources in the area. Failure to protect peat ecosystems may be considered a violation of Indonesia's international obligations to preserve marine and wetland environments under UNCLOS 1982 and the Ramsar Convention. Second, the Indonesian government has implemented legal and technical measures, such as issuing Government Regulation No. 57 of 2016 on Peat Ecosystem Protection and Management, constructing breakwaters, planting mangroves, and implementing the 3R program (Rewetting, Revegetation, and Revitalization) through the Peat and Mangrove Restoration Agency (BRGM). These efforts have shown positive results in reducing erosion rates and protecting coastalines.

EXPLORING THE POTENTIAL OF SOCIAL MEDIA AS A HEALTH COMMUNICATION PLATFORM FOR FILICIDE PREVENTION IN INDONESIA

Asmawati, Mega Nur
Abstract: This study explores the potential of social media as a health communication platform for preventing filicide in Indonesia, focusing on disseminating information, reducing stigma, and engaging audiences. The study adopts… an exploratory approach based on secondary data, including the analysis of scientific literature, reports from the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) and UNICEF, and global campaigns such as #EndViolence. Research shows that social media can reach a broad audience, particularly the younger generation, through strategically designed educational content like infographics and videos. Empathy-driven campaigns utilizing real-life stories can also effectively reduce the stigma surrounding mental health, a primary cause of filicide. However, the study identifies challenges such as limited access in remote areas, potential misuse of platforms, and the sustainability of campaigns, which often pose obstacles. In Indonesia’s context, adapting global campaign models to local culture can enhance prevention outcomes. Collaboration among the government, non-profit organizations, and the community is key to ensuring long-term impact. By integrating technologies such as artificial intelligence and gamification, and implementing data-driven approaches, social media can become a powerful tool to drive behavioral change and raise public awareness about filicide prevention.

EVALUATION OF COASTAL SAFETY STRUCTURES IN MITIGATING WAVE OVERTOPPING: A LABORATORY SIMULATION APPROACH

Aulia, Nur, Alham, Irawan, Paharuddin, Paharuddin
Abstract: This research evaluates the performance of coastal safety structures in mitigating wave runoff through laboratory-scale simulations. Pancana Beach in Barru Regency, South Sulawesi, was selected as the research site due to… o its vulnerability to wave-induced beach damage. To simulate wave conditions, a wave generator was designed using a 12-volt DC motor integrated into an acrylic wave bath. This research analyses the effectiveness of three types of coastal safety structures: reflectors, sea walls and sloping sea walls. Laboratory experiments measured the wave overflow volume for each type of structure under controlled conditions. The results showed that reflector-type structures achieved the highest efficiency in mitigating wave overtopping, with an average minimum overtopping value of 0.006 m³/ms. The findings emphasise the importance of selecting and designing appropriate coastal protection measures to minimise coastal erosion, protect coastal infrastructure and reduce risks to surrounding settlements. This study contributes valuable insights into the role of engineered structures in enhancing coastal resilience, especially for areas vulnerable to high wave energy.
