Using a qualitative approach and literature study, this research explores various aspects of Malay Riau culture, such as customs, oral literature, traditional clothing, and how the Malay community preserves the environment. Amid the challenges of globalization and modernization, this article shows that the values within the Malay Riau way of life remain essential in creating a harmonious, cultured, and virtuous society. Efforts to preserve culture through education and cultural festivals are also crucial so that younger generations can continue to appreciate and maintain this cultural heritage.

strategy in improving students’ reading comprehension, which focuses on literal meaning and descriptive text. This research used quasi-experimental research design involving an Experimental class and a control class. The sample of this research were students of VII B as the experimental class, which consisted of 31 students, and the students of VIII A as the control class, which consisted of 31 students. The data was collected through pre-test and post-test. The result confirmed that the mean score of the experimental class had increased from 44.87 to 73.83. On the other hand, in the control class, it has increased from 48.29 to 62.64. The result of the test was analyzed statistically by applying 0.05 level significance. The researcher found that the value of the t-counted was higher than the t-table (4.59 > 1.67). In the other words, the implementation of choral reading strategy can develop students’ reading comprehension of the eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 13 Palu. This strategy has a significant impact on the English learning process, especially helping students in reading comprehension to find information about the text and understand the entire meaning of the text, so that students can practice choral reading as their independent reading comprehension strategy in the future.

o its vulnerability to wave-induced beach damage. To simulate wave conditions, a wave generator was designed using a 12-volt DC motor integrated into an acrylic wave bath. This research analyses the effectiveness of three types of coastal safety structures: reflectors, sea walls and sloping sea walls. Laboratory experiments measured the wave overflow volume for each type of structure under controlled conditions. The results showed that reflector-type structures achieved the highest efficiency in mitigating wave overtopping, with an average minimum overtopping value of 0.006 m³/ms. The findings emphasise the importance of selecting and designing appropriate coastal protection measures to minimise coastal erosion, protect coastal infrastructure and reduce risks to surrounding settlements. This study contributes valuable insights into the role of engineered structures in enhancing coastal resilience, especially for areas vulnerable to high wave energy.

Kondisi ini menyebabkan penderita harus memutar mata sehingga efek lubang jarum dapat dilihat. Tujuan Penelitian : Mengetahui hubungan antara faktor genetik dan penggunaan gadget terhadap kejadian astigmatisme di Optik Reka Jaya Palembang Tahun 2024. Metode Penelitian : Dalam Penelitian ini penulis menggunakan jenis penelitian survey analitik dengan pendekatan cross sectional dimana variabel independen yaitu faktor genetik dan penggunaan gadget dan variabel dependen yaitu astigmatisme. Hasil Penelitian : Dari data bivariat diperoleh dari 48 responden terdapat 33 responden (68,8%) mengalami astigmatisme dan 15 responden (31,3%) tidak mengalami astigmatisme. Diperoleh 31 responden (64,6%) mengalami astigmatisme berdasarkan faktor genetik sedangkan 17 responden (35,4%) bukan berdasarkan faktor genetik. Diperoleh 32 responden (66,7%) mengalami astigmatisme berdasarkan penggunaan gadget yang buruk sedangkan 16 responden (33,3%) penggunaan gadget yang baik. Kesimpulan : Berdasarkan Analisa data yang dilakukan diperoleh Kesimpulan bahwa ada hubungan yang bermakna antara faktor genetik dan penggunaan gadget secara simultan dengan kejadian astigmatisme. Hasil uji statistik chi-square tentang hubungan faktor genetik dengan kejadian astigmatisme didapatkan nilai p-value 0,006 dan Hasil uji statistik chi-square tentang hubungan penggunaan gadget dengan kejadian astigmatisme didapatkan nilai p-value 0,021.

were as many as 918 findings of diarrhea in toddlers at Gang Sehat Health Center. Mother's factor also affects the occurrence of diarrhea in toddlers. Knowledge is one of the factors causing the high mortality rate due to diarrhea. The importance of maternal knowledge and attitudes in handling diarrheal diseases needs to be discussed because diarrhea that is delayed or improperly handled can cause pain and adverse effects on children, namely infant mortality. Objective: To determine the relationship between mothers' knowledge and attitudes about diarrhea management and the classification of diarrhea in toddlers at the Gang Sehat Health Center. Methods: This study used the accidental sampling method with bivariate analysis using the Chi-Square test. Results: The Chi Square test resulted in a value of 0.934, meaning that the P value > 0.05 indicates that there is no relationship between maternal knowledge and diarrhea classification in toddlers. With the results of the value of 0.443, meaning that the P value > 0.05, there is no relationship between the mother's attitude and diarrhea classification about diarrhea management in toddlers.
