PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENTAL INFLUENCES ON SILICOSIS: A NARRATIVE REVIEW INTEGRATING COMMUNITY EXPOSURE AND WISTAR RAT EXPERIMENTAL FINDINGS IN COAL-HANDLING REGIONS

Mustika Fatimah, Irsan Saleh, Susila Arita, Legiran
Abstract: Coal mining, handling, and transportation activities are major sources of airborne particulate matter containing respirable crystalline silica, which poses significant risks to respiratory health. Silicosis remains a serious… ious occupational and environmental disease affecting not only workers but also communities living near coal-handling areas. Physical environmental factors, including air quality, temperature, humidity, and wind speed, play an important role in influencing dust generation, dispersion, and inhalation exposure. This narrative review aims to synthesize current evidence on the influence of physical environmental conditions on silica exposure and silicosis development, integrating findings from environmental monitoring studies, epidemiological research, and experimental Wistar rat models. A literature search was conducted using major scientific databases to identify relevant peer-reviewed articles published between 2010 and 2024. The reviewed evidence indicates that prolonged or high-intensity exposure to silica dust is strongly associated with chronic pulmonary inflammation and progressive fibrosis. Environmental conditions can exacerbate exposure risk by increasing airborne particulate concentrations and respiratory vulnerability. Experimental studies using Wistar rats provide mechanistic insights into silica-induced lung injury, supporting epidemiological observations in human populations. This review highlights the importance of integrating environmental, occupational, and biological perspectives to improve risk prediction, early detection, and preventive strategies for silicosis in coal-handling regions.

Azzahra Talitha Noer Nanlohy, Niswatin, Yustina Hiola
Abstract: This study aims to analyze the effect of company size, Debt to Equity Ratio (DER), and Return on Equity (ROE) on the Dividend Payout Ratio (DPR) of food and beverage manufacturing companies listed on the Indonesia Stock… Exchange (IDX) during the period 2019-2024. This research adopts a quantitative approach with multiple linear regression analysis processed using SPSS. The sample of the study consists of 18 companies that meet the purposive sampling criteria. The results show that company size has a positive and significant effect on the Dividend Payout Ratio. However, Debt to Equity Ratio and Return on Equity do not have a significant effect on Dividend Payout Ratio, either partially or simultaneously. These findings suggest that other factors, beyond company size, play a more significant role in influencing dividend policies in the food and beverage manufacturing sector in Indonesia.

Tiara Amelia, Bustami, Oktizulvia, Conny
Abstract: Abstract Patient safety incidents remain a critical healthcare problem in Indonesia, particularly within hospital settings. Patient safety goals are an essential priority for healthcare providers, especially nurses, who… ses, who serve as the frontline workforce delivering continuous care. Optimal implementation of patient safety goals requires adequate knowledge, supportive attitudes, and strong professional performance from nurses. Effective adherence to these goals plays a key role in preventing adverse events that may harm or endanger patients. This study aimed to examine the relationship between nurses’ knowledge and attitudes with the implementation of Patient Safety Goals in a private hospital in West Sumatra, Indonesia. A descriptive quantitative method with a cross-sectional design was used. A total of 35 nurses were selected through total sampling. Data were collected using validated questionnaires (KPSQ, APSQ, IPSG I–VI). Statistical analysis employed the Chi-Square test with a significance level of p < 0.05. Results showed that more than half of the nurses demonstrated good knowledge (51.4%), positive attitudes (57.1%), and good implementation of patient safety goals (54.3%). Chi-Square analysis revealed significant associations between knowledge and patient safety goal implementation (p=0.044<0.05), as well as between attitudes and patient safety goal implementation (p=0.012). The study concludes that nurses’ knowledge and attitudes are significantly related to the implementation of patient safety goals. Continuous training and regular dissemination regarding patient safety standards are recommended to strengthen nurses’ adherence to SOPs and to enhance the overall patient safety culture within the hospital. Keywords : Knowledge; Attitudes; Patient Safety Goals; Nurses; Hospital

OVERVIEW OF COMMUNITY STIGMA TOWARD PEOPLE LIVING WITH HIV/AIDS IN GORONTALO CITY

Nirwanto K. Rahim, Ita Sulistiani, Ayu Rofia Nurfadhilah
Abstract: HIV/AIDS remains a major public health concern worldwide, and stigma toward People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) continues to hinder prevention and treatment efforts, particularly in regions with limited health literacy.… In Gorontalo City, community stigma persists due to misconceptions about HIV transmission, exaggerated fears, and culturally embedded moral judgments that associate HIV with deviant behavior. This study aims to describe the level of community stigma toward PLWHA in Liluwo Village and identify factors contributing to these attitudes. Using an analytical survey with a cross-sectional design, the study involved 185 respondents selected through stratified random sampling. A structured questionnaire assessed respondents’ HIV/AIDS knowledge, religiosity, and stigmatizing attitudes. The findings reveal that 102 respondents (55.1%) demonstrated stigmatizing behaviors, characterized by avoidance of physical contact, reluctance to live near PLWHA, fear of sharing public spaces, and inaccurate beliefs about how HIV is transmitted. Meanwhile, 83 respondents (44.9%) exhibited no stigma, showing higher levels of HIV-related knowledge, a better understanding of scientific facts about transmission, and a more empathetic and inclusive approach toward PLWHA. The variation between these groups highlights the crucial role of health literacy, cultural norms, and access to accurate information in shaping community attitudes. The study concludes that reducing stigma requires comprehensive and continuous educational interventions, targeted health promotion, and active involvement of community and religious leaders to build a more supportive environment for PLWHA. Strengthening public understanding is essential to ensure equitable treatment and improve the well-being of those affected by HIV.

The findings indicate that while business performance and innovation are important, they should be viewed as part of a more holistic approach to business strategy. This research concludes that companies should focus on strategies that integrate competitive advantage through various elements, such as innovation, product quality, and marketing. Good strategic planning and effective implementation are key to achieving and maintaining competitive advantage and increasing customer value. The findings provide important insights into the need for a holistic strategic approach to achieve long-term success in an increasingly competitive market.

THE APPLICATION OF WORD OF MOUTH (WOM), SERVICE QUALITY, AND BRAND IMAGE ON CUSTOMER LOYALTY WITH CUSTOMER SATISFACTION AS A MEDIATING VARIABLE AT AS SYIFAA PHARMACY IN MAJALENGKA

Robi Latansa, Putu Nina Madiawati, Mahir Pradana
Abstract: This study investigates how Word of Mouth, service quality, and brand image influence B2B customer loyalty at As-Syifaa Pharmacy in Majalengka, with customer satisfaction acting as a mediating variable. A quantitative approach… proach was applied using the SEM-PLS method, drawing on data from 300 purposively selected customers. The analysis included measurement of validity and reliability, followed by structural model testing to identify both direct and indirect relationships among variables. The findings reveal that Word of Mouth, service quality, and brand image each play a meaningful role in enhancing customer satisfaction, which in turn becomes the strongest predictor of customer loyalty. Satisfaction was also found to mediate the effects of the three antecedent variables, either fully or partially, highlighting its central role in shaping long-term business relationships. These results indicate that building B2B customer loyalty requires more than consistent operational performance; it also depends on maintaining a credible brand reputation and fostering positive relational communication within the business network. Based on these insights, the study recommends strengthening service standards, reinforcing brand consistency, and managing interpersonal communication to support sustainable loyalty among B2B partners.

PLS-SEM analysis was employed to evaluate the measurement and structural models, encompassing assessments of validity, reliability, R², Q², and hypothesis testing via bootstrapping. Findings indicate that multi-stakeholder collaboration has a positive and significant effect on both sustainable tourism management and tourism activity resilience. Sustainable tourism management also shows a positive and considerable influence on tourism activity resilience. Furthermore, a partial mediation effect was identified, wherein sustainable tourism management strengthens the impact of multi-stakeholder collaboration on the strength of tourism activities. Structured and inclusive multi-stakeholder collaboration, when integrated with sustainable tourism management practices, enhances the resilience of tourism activities in community-based destinations. These results underscore the crucial importance of collaborative governance and sustainable management practices in fostering destination sustainability and resilience.

THE PRINCIPLE OF LEGALITY IN THE DYNAMICS OF CRIMINAL LAW INTERPRETATION: A NORMATIVE STUDY ON THE LIMITS OF JUDICIAL AUTHORITY

Irwan Triadi, Dhikma Heradika
Abstract: The principle of legality is a fundamental concept in the Indonesian criminal justice system, ensuring legal certainty and the protection of human rights from arbitrary criminal punishment. However, the rapid development… of modern crimes often leads to legal gaps or vague norms that require judges to conduct judicial law-finding (rechtsvinding) when resolving criminal cases. This research aims to analyze the position of the principle of legality as a legal limit to judicial authority and examine how far judicial law-finding can be carried out without violating the essential principles of criminal law. This study employs a normative legal research method with a statute approach, conceptual approach, case approach, and historical approach. The results demonstrate that the principle of legality plays a crucial role in restricting judicial interpretation to prevent the creation of new offenses that may harm defendants and to ensure punishment can only be imposed based on pre-existing laws. Nonetheless, judicial law-finding remains necessary to address contemporary crimes that are not yet regulated under statutory law. Therefore, a proportional balance between legal certainty and substantive justice is required so that the principle of legality and judicial law-finding can work synergistically within Indonesia’s criminal justice system.
