Nurhanifah, Aulia, Hotimah, Oot, Agustine, Elma Amalia, Febianto, Bunga
Abstract: The plastic waste crisis in Indonesia and Thailand is one of the biggest environmental challenges in Southeast Asia, triggered by increased plastic consumption due to urbanization, economic growth and modern lifestyles.… This study aims to analyze the challenges, environmental impacts, and sustainable solutions related to plastic waste management in both countries. The method used is qualitative analysis based on secondary data from scientific literature, reports of international institutions. The results show that Indonesia faces serious problems in plastic waste management that cause marine pollution to other countries, while Thailand struggles with the high volume of domestic and imported plastic waste. The resulting environmental impacts include damage to marine ecosystems, threats to biodiversity, and human health risks from microplastics. Recommended solutions include the implementation of national regulations that support sustainability principles, 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) strategies, promotion of eco-friendly packaging, and public education to reduce the use of single-use plastics. The study concludes that regional collaboration among ASEAN countries is needed to effectively address the plastic waste crisis to protect ecosystems and human health in the long term.

DISARTICULATION OF STUDENT VOICES AND STATE LEGITIMACY IN ONLINE MEDIA DISCOURSE: A CRITICAL ANALYSIS 2022–2024

Rimang, Siti Suwadah, Jusmaeni, Mufliha Khaeratih Agus, Suhardi
Abstract: This study examines how online media frames student demonstrations and how student voices are disarticulated in the news, especially in relation to the state's legitimacy strategy. The study period covers 2022 to 2024, when… hen the intensity of the student movement increased in response to various public policy issues. The main purpose of this research is to uncover the practice of digital mainstream media representation of student actions and dissect the ideological power relations between state actors and civil society groups in the realm of media discourse. The approach used is Norman Fairclough's three-dimensional model of Critical Discourse Analysis (AWK), which includes analysis at three levels: textual structure (lexical and syntactic), discourse practice (the process of production and consumption of texts), and social practice (ideological and institutional context). Five news articles from Kompas.com were analyzed in depth as the main sample. The results of the study show that online media tends to frame student actions through dictionaries that reduce the meaning of their struggle, such as "chaos," "secured," and "not conducive," while prioritizing quotes from state officials or security forces. This disarticulation plays a role in strengthening the state's authority in shaping public opinion and shows the tendency of the media as a hegemonic agent. These findings emphasize the urgency of ideological awareness-based media literacy so that people are able to criticize and not passively accept media discourse.

Henny Pratiwi, Rasidah Sihombing
Abstract: This study aims to analyze the development strategy of cassava leaf-based animal feed ( Manihot utilissima ) in Sumberejo Village, Pagar Merbau District, Deli Serdang Regency. This study uses a nonprobability sampling method… thod with a saturated sampling technique. With a total of 53 respondents consisting of 50 consumers, 1 business owner and 2 employees. This study uses primary and secondary data. This study uses multiple linear regression analysis to determine what factors influence the development strategy of cassava leaf animal feed and descriptive analysis to analyze the development strategy for the potential and opportunities of using cassava leaves as animal feed. This research method uses qualitative and quantitative analysis. The results showed that cassava leaves have a high crude protein content, which is around 20-30%, and contain crude fiber, fat, and minerals that are beneficial for livestock growth. Multiple linear regression analysis in this study shows that all independent variables have a significant effect on the dependent variable. Among these factors, the economic aspect makes the largest contribution, making it the main factor influencing the dependent variable. Furthermore, social aspects and external support also play a significant role in determining the results. In addition, other factors such as technology, resources, and marketing and distribution also have a significant impact, although with a smaller influence compared to economic and social aspects. Thus, the regression model shows a positive relationship between the independent variables and the dependent variable, so that improvements in these aspects will increase the dependent variable, with the main priority on economic and social aspects.

Septiaji, Aji, Choerunnisa, Nanis Regina, Siti Aliyah, Neci, Silvia, Novi, Rahmawati, Erna
Abstract: This study aims to analyze the representation of heroic narratives in two movies adaptations of Greek mythology, Clash of the Titans (2010) and Wrath of the Titans (2012), through a comparative literature approach and Vladimir… adimir Propp's narratology. The main character Perseus is the center of attention in the study of narrative structure because of his role as a mythological hero who faces a series of challenges that are full of values of courage, sacrifice, and determination. Propp's theory is used to identify narrative functions such as dispatch, magical agent, struggle, and transfiguration that appear in both movies. The method used is qualitative with content analysis technique by comparing the stories, characters, and moral messages as well as narrative functions in the two movies with the theme of Greek mythology. The results show that the comparison of the narrative structure of the two movies with the character Perseus has strengths in the dramatic aspects of heroic attitudes in accepting choices and fighting for life so that the integration of heroic material can be adapted to literature learning involving character values. This finding confirms that the narratological approach through comparative literature can be an important pedagogical tool to teach story structures with character values through popular media. This research recommends the utilization of mythological movies in literature learning and character education at various levels of education as a means of strengthening narrative literacy and understanding moral values.

FULL DAY SCHOOL VS. MODULAR EDUCATION SYSTEM: A COMPARATIVE STUDY OF INDONESIA AND THE UNITED KINGDOM

Ika Kurnia Sofiani, Mardiana, Nurlidia Putri, Fitri Barokah
Abstract: The transformation of Indonesia's education system faces significant challenges in aligning with the demands of globalization, digitalization, and lifelong learning. These challenges have sparked debates regarding the effectiveness… fectiveness of the full-day school model and the modular education system. This study aims to comparatively analyze these two approaches within the context of primary and secondary education in Indonesia, referencing modular education practices in the United Kingdom as an international benchmark. The study employs a qualitative approach based on a literature review, utilizing thematic content analysis of 20 accredited scholarly sources selected through strict inclusion criteria, and analyzed with the assistance of NVivo software to ensure thematic accuracy. The findings indicate that the full-day school model excels in fostering discipline and consistent learning structures; however, it poses risks of cognitive fatigue and is less supportive of differentiated instruction. In contrast, the modular system offers flexibility, opportunities for personalized learning, and deeper conceptual understanding, yet requires adequate digital infrastructure and self-directed learning literacy, which are not evenly distributed. The study concludes that no single educational model is universally superior; instead, each holds contextual relevance. This research contributes theoretically by enriching the comparative education literature and practically by informing the design of more adaptive, inclusive, and responsive learning policies to meet the challenges of the 21st century, while also supporting efforts to achieve quality education as outlined in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
