THE IMPACT OF TAWAKAL AND DHIKR ON MENTAL HEALTH AND STRESS IN MODERN LIFE

Isdianto, Andik, Al Indunissy, Nuruddin, Fitrianti, Novariza
Abstract: This study explores the psychological fortification offered by the Islamic practices of tawakal (reliance on God) and dzikir (remembrance of God) in addressing modern challenges, such as increased anxiety due to technological… gical advances and complex social needs. Employing a literature review methodology, this research investigates the influence of these practices on mental health and behavioral implications. The selection of peer-reviewed articles published within the last ten years involved databases like PubMed and Google Scholar with keywords related to Islamic spirituality and mental health. This method allowed a comprehensive analysis of contemporary studies, focusing on the therapeutic benefits of tawakal and dzikir in clinical settings. Results indicate that tawakal significantly reduces anxiety by fostering a relinquishing of control and instilling peace of mind, while dzikir enhances emotional stability through its meditative repetition of sacred phrases, promoting relaxation and reducing stress responses. Both practices not only support spiritual well-being but also offer practical coping mechanisms in stressful situations. The conclusion underlines the potential integration of tawakal and dzikir into conventional psychotherapeutic practices. It suggests further exploration into the incorporation of these spiritual elements within mental health frameworks to enhance therapeutic outcomes and patient recovery. This research contributes to the broader discourse on the intersection of spirituality and psychology, highlighting the relevance of traditional spiritual practices in contemporary mental health paradigms.

Irfan, Alif
Abstract: This study aims to determine the effect of social support on academic stress in Islamic Religious Education (PAI) Masters students of Class of 2024 at Sultan Agung Islamic University Semarang. The method used is a quantitative… tative approach with data collection techniques through closed questionnaires. The sample in this study amounted to 100 respondents who were selected randomly. The results of the partial test analysis (t-test) show that self-efficacy has a significant effect on academic stress, with a significance value of 0.001 (p <0.05) and a calculated t value of 3.300 which is greater than the t table of 1.98472. This indicates a positive influence between self-efficacy and academic stress. In addition, the coefficient of determination (R square) value of 0.316 indicates that 31% of the variation in academic stress can be explained by the self-efficacy variable, while the remaining 69% is influenced by other factors outside the study. The normality test using the Monte Carlo approach produced a significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.249, which means that the data is normally distributed. Thus, this study confirms the importance of the role of self-efficacy and social support in reducing students' academic stress.

Dian Furwasyih, Maidelwita, Yani, Shofiah
Abstract: Vaginal discharge is an indicator of an abnormal health condition in the body, characterized by the release of a fluid, other than blood, from the female reproductive organ. In July 2023, two female inmates at Class IIB… Women's Prison in Padang reported experiencing vaginal discharge accompanied by itching and an unpleasant odor. They received medical treatment at the prison clinic. The incidence of vaginal discharge in West Sumatra is approximately 3.51%. This study aims to identify the factors influencing the occurrence of vaginal discharge among female inmates of childbearing age. A quantitative research approach was used, employing a cross-sectional design and a total sampling technique, with 57 respondents. The variables examined include knowledge level, access to reproductive health information, and personal hygiene behavior during menstruation. Data analysis was conducted using univariate and bivariate methods with chi-square tests. The findings revealed that 43.9% of respondents experienced vaginal discharge, 71.9% had a low level of knowledge, 57.9% faced difficulties in accessing reproductive health information, and 56.1% exhibited poor personal hygiene behavior during menstruation. There was a significant relationship between knowledge level and the incidence of vaginal discharge (p=0.045), as well as between personal hygiene behavior and vaginal discharge occurrence (p=0.037). However, no significant correlation was found between access to reproductive health information and vaginal discharge (p=0.426). This study concludes that improving reproductive health education and providing adequate hygiene facilities in the prison environment are crucial steps in reducing the incidence of vaginal discharge among female inmates.

THE DETERMINATION OF STATE BASELINES POST-PEAT ABRASION ON BENGKALIS ISLAND AS INDONESIA'S FOREMOST ISLAND IN TERMS OF INTERNATIONAL LAW OF THE SEA PERSPECTIVE

Cahyani, Harpita Dwi, Maria Maya Lestari, Ledy Diana
Abstract: Coastal abrasion is a growing global concern, particularly for Indonesia, a country with one of the longest coastlines in the world. Abrasion poses significant challenges to coastal ecosystems and the livelihoods of local… l communities. Bengkalis Island, one of Indonesia's outermost and foremost islands, has experienced intensified abrasion in recent decades. Located in Riau Province and facing the Strait of Malacca, this peat-contoured island serves as a basepoint for Indonesia's archipelagic baselines. This research aims to: (1) analyze the legal implications of peat erosion on Indonesia's baselines post-erosion, and (2) describe the Indonesian government's efforts to address the issue. This normative legal research examines the synchronization between national regulations and international standards regarding peatland conservation and erosion mitigation, particularly in strategically important foremost islands. The study reveals two key findings. First, peat abrasion on Bengkalis Island has serious legal implications for determining Indonesia's archipelagic baselines and maritime boundaries under UNCLOS 1982. Abrasion also threatens the island's status as an outermost and foremost island, potentially leading to the loss of Indonesia's rights over natural resources in the area. Failure to protect peat ecosystems may be considered a violation of Indonesia's international obligations to preserve marine and wetland environments under UNCLOS 1982 and the Ramsar Convention. Second, the Indonesian government has implemented legal and technical measures, such as issuing Government Regulation No. 57 of 2016 on Peat Ecosystem Protection and Management, constructing breakwaters, planting mangroves, and implementing the 3R program (Rewetting, Revegetation, and Revitalization) through the Peat and Mangrove Restoration Agency (BRGM). These efforts have shown positive results in reducing erosion rates and protecting coastalines.

ANALYSIS OF FOOD SECURITY AND SELF-SUFFICIENCY IN FOOD IN SOUTH SULAWESI

Sjamsir, Zulkifli, Besse Dahliana, Suhartina R
Abstract: This study examines food security, food self-sufficiency, and self-sufficiency in South Sulawesi in 2024, focusing on the province's main food commodities, distribution issues, and the impact of government policies. The… research analyzes the gap between food production and demand, identifying key commodities such as rice, corn, and soybeans. By evaluating the availability, accessibility, and affordability of these staple foods, the study investigates how local agricultural practices, infrastructure, and external factors like climate change and market volatility affect food security in the region. The findings reveal significant challenges in meeting the demand for rice and soybeans, despite the province's ability to achieve a surplus in corn production. The methodology employed in this study involves both qualitative and quantitative approaches. Primary data was gathered through field surveys, interviews with local farmers, agricultural experts, and policymakers, as well as secondary data from government reports, agricultural statistics, and market analyses. A comparative analysis was conducted to examine trends in food production, consumption patterns, and price fluctuations over the past five years. The study also incorporated geographic information system (GIS) mapping to assess the distribution of agricultural resources and the effectiveness of existing infrastructure in connecting farmers to markets. The findings suggest that despite the province's agricultural potential, South Sulawesi continues to face challenges in achieving full food self-sufficiency. The study recommends a multifaceted approach to addressing food insecurity and achieving food self-sufficiency, including improving rural infrastructure, adopting modern agricultural technologies, and diversifying food crops.
