GLOBAL LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT: THE IMPACT OF INTERNATIONAL HR MANAGEMENT ON CROSS-CULTURAL LEADERSHIP EFFECTIVENESS

Dwiarto, Joko, Perkasa, Didin Hikmah, Saluy, Ahmad Badawi
Abstract: Globally operating companies face challenges in managing human resources from diverse cultural backgrounds. This paper highlights how the role of International Human Resource Management (IHRM) can support the improvement… of cross-cultural leadership effectiveness while strengthening organizational competitiveness at the global level. Based on the analysis of various empirical studies, it is revealed that leadership success is highly dependent on the mastery of cross-cultural competencies, including cultural intelligence, emotional intelligence, and intercultural communication skills. Global leaders who are able to integrate local and international identities, and adopt transformational leadership approaches, tend to be more successful in building synergy and innovation in multicultural teams. Flexible IHRM approaches such as cross-cultural training and international work experience are key factors in shaping leaders with global capacity. The study also emphasizes the need for collaborative, context-relevant and sustainable leadership development strategies, and the importance of integrating inclusive IHRM practices to support organizational performance in a dynamic global work environment.

9 YEAR BASIC EDUCATION POLICY

Jaja Abdul Jabar, Suheti, Supardi, Anis Fauzi
Abstract: This article examines the 9-year basic education policy in Indonesia, which is an implementation of the 1945 Constitution to guarantee the right to education for all citizens. This policy aims to improve access and quality… ty of education, improve the life of the nation, and create quality human resources. The review includes the history of the policy, starting from Law No. 4 of 1950 to the launch of the program by President Soeharto in 1984, as well as the influence of political interests and the modernization of Islamic education in the National Education System Law. The implementation of the policy involves a shared responsibility between the government, parents, and the community. Although it has been running, challenges such as low awareness of education and family economic conditions are still obstacles. Therefore, collaborative efforts and adequate funding are needed to ensure the provision of quality basic education, as well as open alternative education pathways. Sustainable policies such as the 12-year compulsory education program are expected to strengthen the foundation of education and increase access for future generations

GUS DUR’S IDEAS IN INFLUENCING POSTCOLONIAL ISLAMIC NUSANTARA THOUGHT

Subekti, Fiqi Restu, Mutiullah
Abstract: The present article examines the influence of the thought of KH. Abdurrahman Wahid (Gus Dur) on the formation of postcolonial discourse in the context of Islam Nusantara. In the postcolonial context, the Islamic construction… tion of the Archipelago is inextricably linked to colonial epistemological legacies and the hegemony of external cultures, particularly Arabic. Gus Dur’s thought process can be understood as a deconstructive effort against the dichotomy between “pure” and “local” Islam that was created by colonial powers and puritan movements. It is evident that Gus Dur’s rejection of the uniformity of Arab culture as the sole representation of Islam was underpinned by a sharp critique of arabisation. As an alternative, he proffered the concept of Islamic pribumisation, defined as the adjustment of Islamic expression to local cultural values without sacrificing the substance of the teachings. Furthermore, Gus Dur placed significant emphasis on the necessity of contextualising Islamic teachings, emphasising the importance of re-evaluating Islamic values in accordance with the prevailing social and cultural dynamics of Indonesian society. It is asserted that an approach of this nature will engender the concepts of pluralism and tolerance, which will in turn serve as the primary foundations upon which religious life is to be constructed. The present study employs a qualitative approach, utilising critical discourse analysis of Gus Dur’s ideas and relevant supporting literature. The findings demonstrate that Gus Dur’s thought plays a significant role in formulating the paradigm of Islam Nusantara. This paradigm is characterised by its responsiveness to local realities, its transcendence of religious formalism, and its rehabilitation of cultural dignity as an integral part of Islamic expression. Consequently, the thought of Gus Dur constitutes a significant contribution to the development of a plural, humanist and contextual Islamic civilisation.

Dara, Risna, Nurhayatin , Titin, Fitriani , Rani Siti
Abstract: This research aims to analyze the social criticism conveyed through the short story Wall of Time by Danarto, with a focus on issues of poverty, crime, family disorganization, problems of the younger generation, war, violations… ations of norms, population problems, and environmental problems. This short story describes the social tensions and pressures of individual life amidst deep social problems. Through symbols of time and various allusions, this short story highlights social inequality, the impact of war, and increasingly severe environmental exploitation. This research uses a qualitative descriptive approach with literary mimetic theory, to reveal how Danarto conveys social criticism in a subtle but sharp manner through characters trapped in difficult situations. The research results show that this short story invites readers to be more critical of existing social and cultural conditions, as well as providing reflections on the impact of social problems on human life. It is hoped that this research can contribute to the understanding of Indonesian literature and provide an appreciation for literary works that raise social issues.

Joko Dwiarto, Agung Surya Dwianto
Abstract: This study aims to explore the impact of transformational leadership on work productivity dynamics at PT Mitsubishi Electric Automotive Indonesia. Transformational leadership, which emphasizes inspiration, intellectual stimulation,… timulation, individualized consideration, and value-based motivation, is thought to have a significant influence on improving employee productivity. However, how such mechanisms work in the context of the automotive industry in Indonesia still requires in-depth exploration. Using a qualitative approach, this research adopts a case study method to analyse the perceptions, experiences, and interactions of employees and managers in responding to transformational leadership styles. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with managers and employees at PT Mitsubishi Electric Automotive Indonesia, as well as participatory observation in the work environment. Thematic analysis was used to identify key patterns related to motivation, work engagement, and productive behaviour change. The results revealed that transformational leadership contributes to increased productivity through three main mechanisms: (1) strengthening the psychological climate that encourages innovation, (2) increasing organizational commitment through identification with the company's vision, and (3) optimizing team collaboration through inspiring communication. However, implementation challenges were also identified, including resistance to change and a gap between management expectations and employees' adaptive capacity. The implications of this study provide practical insights for companies in designing more effective leadership development programs, while enriching the human resource management literature with a contextual perspective from the Indonesian automotive industry. Policy recommendations include case-based leadership training, participatory feedback approaches, and integration of transformational values in corporate culture.

THE IMPACT OF COMPLAINING ON THE HEALING PROCESS: PSYCHOLOGICAL, MEDICAL, AND ISLAMIC SPIRITUAL PERSPECTIVES

Isdianto, Andik, Al Indunissy, Nuruddin, Fitrianti, Novariza
Abstract: Complaining is a common emotional response to illness, yet its impact on healing is rarely examined from a multidisciplinary perspective. This article aims to analyze how complaining influences the recovery process through… gh psychological, Islamic spiritual, and medical lenses. The method used was a literature review with a descriptive qualitative approach. Data were collected from scientific articles published between 2015 and 2024 using Scopus, PubMed, DOAJ, and Google Scholar. Findings reveal that excessive complaining amplifies stress, worsens mental health, and disrupts the immune system. Psychologically, uncontrolled complaints are linked to low emotional resilience. From an Islamic view, patience (shabr) and supplication to God provide spiritual strength and mental stability. Medically, emotional stress raises cortisol levels, negatively impacting tissue healing and immune responses. This study underscores the urgency of a holistic approach that integrates psychological, spiritual, and medical dimensions in healthcare services. It contributes to scientific discourse by offering a model for more humane and comprehensive healthcare. Further empirical studies are recommended to validate this integration in clinical settings.
