EFFECTIVENESS OF SOURSOP (ANNONA MURICATA) LEAF EXTRACT AS A BOTANICAL PESTICIDE AGAINST ARMYWORM (SPODOPTERA LITURA) ON MUSTARD GREENS (BRASSICA JUNCEA)

Sulaminingsih
Abstract: The intensive use of synthetic chemical pesticides in agriculture has led to various negative impacts on the environment and human health, as well as increased pest resistance. As an alternative, plant-based pesticides (botanical… botanical insecticides) have shown potential due to their eco-friendly and sustainable nature. This study aims to review the effectiveness of soursop (Annona muricata) leaf extract as a botanical pesticide against the gray caterpillar (Spodoptera litura) on mustard plants (Brassica juncea), using a literature review method. Data were collected through a systematic search of accredited national and international scientific journals, then analyzed descriptively and comparatively. The findings indicate that soursop leaves contain bioactive compounds such as acetogenins, flavonoids, and saponins, which act as stomach poisons, antifeedants, and repellents to S. litura. Several studies reported that extracts from Annona spp. leaves and seeds effectively inhibit larval growth, reduce feeding activity, damage digestive tissues, and lead to larval death. This effectiveness highlights the potential of soursop leaves as a safe and efficient candidate for botanical pesticide development. The study also identifies a research gap regarding field-scale testing on mustard plants, suggesting the need for further agronomic validation.

EFFECTIVENESS OF THE ARKA METHOD IN IMPROVING SPEAKING ABILITY

S, Cici, Nasya Dinda Afrilla, Charmelia Nuraini
Abstract: The purpose of this study is to ascertain how well SMP Kota Cirebon's speaking abilities may be enhanced by the ARKA approach. Quantitative research using a survey design is the methodology employed. Surveys and closed tests… ests measuring the six aspects of speaking ability—pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, fluency, understanding, and tasks—were used to gather data. SPSS version 25 was used for data analysis. The findings show that SMP Kota Cirebon's speaking ability had been significantly affected by the ARKA approach. This is demonstrated by the coefficient of determination (R Square) value of 0.636, which indicates that the ARKA approach accounts for 63.6% of the diversity in students' speaking ability. In addition, the multiple linear regression model is statistically significant (Sig. = 0.000 < 0.05), according to the ANOVA test findings. According to the study's findings, junior high school students' speaking abilities can be enhanced by the ARKA technique, which is also a creative and relaxing alternative teaching strategy.

EXPLOITATION OF NATURE AND SPIRITUAL DECADENCE: ETHICAL RESPONSIBILITY IN ISLAM THROUGH RITUAL AND RELIGIOSITY AS THE FOUNDATION OF HUMANITY

Irham Multazam, Binti Khalimatuzzahro, Ahmad Muttaqin
Abstract: The large-scale exploitation of nature currently occurring in Indonesia reflects a crisis of spirituality among modern humans in their understanding and treatment of nature. The loss of sacred awareness of nature as God's… s creation has led to an exploitative, rather than participatory, relationship between humans and nature. This study aims to examine the connection between the exploitation of nature and spiritual decadence, as well as how Islamic values can provide a relevant and transformative ecological ethical framework. The method used is a qualitative study with a literature review approach, involving critical analysis of Islamic texts and spiritual ecology theories from thinkers such as Seyyed Hossein Nasr and Roy A. Rappaport. The results of the study show that Islamic principles such as Tawhid, Khilafah, Amanah, and Shari'ah have strong potential to shape spiritual-based ecological awareness. Additionally, rituals in traditional and religious communities also function as ecological and moral mechanisms. In conclusion, the reconstruction of Islamic spiritual values in an environmental context is essential to address contemporary ecological crises, particularly in Indonesia.

CHARACTERISTICS AND NEEDS OF SLOW LEARNERS IN THE LEARNING PROCESS

Sesilya Karisma Dewi Ayu Hermawan, Suparmi
Abstract: Inclusive education is a public school that facilitates students with disabilities, also known as children with special needs, where students have physical limitations, one example of which is slow learners. A slow learner… er is a learning disability where students face obstacles and difficulties in thinking. Slow learners can still follow the school curriculum, but they require slightly different treatment from regular students and additional time in the learning process. Before instruction begins, teachers must understand the characteristics and needs of children with special needs, particularly slow learners. This study aims to understand the characteristics and needs of slow learners in the learning process, as well as the strategies teachers can use in the learning process. The research method used is descriptive-qualitative, involving direct observation at SMP Negeri 22 Surakarta. By understanding the characteristics and needs of slow learners, teachers can adjust their teaching methods to suit the abilities of slow learners, thereby achieving good learning outcomes.

KARANGANYAR BATIK AS A CULTURAL EDUCATION MEDIA

Mega Reforma, Yuliyanto Nugroho, Agung, Moch Nur Syamsu
Abstract: This study aims to analyze the management of batik as an educational tourism attraction based on local cultural values in Karanganyar Regency, with an emphasis on the involvement of the five key actors in the Penta Helix… model—government, academia, business sector, community, and media. Karanganyar possesses rich cultural heritage in the form of batik, which holds significant potential to be developed into an educational tourism destination. However, its current management still faces various challenges. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach, using in-depth interviews, field observations, and document studies for data collection. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis, referring to destination management theory (Cooper et al., 2008) and the concept of edu-tourism (Bodger, 1998). The results reveal that the management of batik educational tourism in Karanganyar has not yet been systematically integrated. Key issues identified include: (1) limited human resources with adequate competence, (2) conventional tourism practices, (3) lack of innovation in tourism product packaging, (4) insufficient institutional coordination and support, and (5) underdeveloped integration between cultural and educational tourism. While there is a strong commitment to cultural preservation from local communities and participation from business actors, structural support from the government and optimization of the media’s role require further enhancement. The implication of this research emphasizes the need for strengthened cross-sectoral collaboration through the Penta Helix framework, the formulation of specific policies for educational tourism development, as well as innovations in digital promotion and context-based cultural education curricula. This study is expected to serve as a reference for policymakers, tourism practitioners, and future researchers in promoting sustainable educational tourism rooted in local culture.
