UTILIZING INTERACTIVE TECHNOLOGY AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE FOR 21ST-CENTURY TEACHERS

Abstract: This study aims to describe the utilization of interactive technology and artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance the competencies of 21st-century teachers within the Educational Coordination Office of Pangkatan Sub-District,… rict, Labuhanbatu Regency, North Sumatra Province. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method with a field study approach through a six-day workshop. The subjects of this study consisted of 20 elementary school teachers who participated in training sessions on Quizizz, Wordwall, and the use of AI tools such as ChatGPT in the learning process. Data were collected through observation, interviews, pre-test and post-test assessments, as well as documentation, and were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate a significant improvement in teachers’ understanding and skills in integrating interactive technology and AI into the learning process. The average pre-test score of 70.00% increased to 89.00% in the post-test, indicating a 19.00% improvement in competency. In addition, teachers successfully developed gamification-based learning media using Quizizz and Wordwall, and utilized artificial intelligence to efficiently design teaching materials and evaluation tasks. The workshop activities also fostered teachers’ motivation, creativity, and digital awareness regarding the importance of innovation in 21st-century education.This study affirms that the integration of interactive technology and AI not only enhances teachers’ pedagogical competencies but also contributes to the development of a more adaptive, collaborative, and digitally relevant learning ecosystem aligned with the needs of the modern era.

THE EFFECTS OF A SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL LEARNING (SEL) CURRICULUM ON ACADEMIC RESILIENCE AND PROSOCIAL BEHAVIOR IN HIGH-POVERTY PRIMARY SCHOOLS AT SDN NO.100907 MUARA AMPOLU I KECAMATAN MUARA BATANGTORU

Abstract: This study examines the effects of a Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum on academic resilience and prosocial behavior in high-poverty primary schools, specifically at SDN No. 100907 Muara Ampolu I, Kec. Muara Batangtoru.… angtoru. Employing a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group, 80 students participated, divided equally into intervention and control groups. The 12-week SEL program focused on self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, relationship skills, and responsible decision-making. Data were collected using validated academic resilience and prosocial behavior instruments and analyzed through paired and independent sample t-tests. Findings revealed that students in the intervention group demonstrated significant improvements in academic resilience and prosocial behavior compared to the control group. The study highlights the potential of SEL curricula to foster adaptive coping strategies and positive social interactions among students in socioeconomically disadvantaged settings. Implications for educational policy and school practices are discussed, emphasizing the importance of SEL integration in primary education

ETHICAL AND PEDAGOGICAL IMPLICATIONS OF DEEP LEARNING INTEGRATION IN FOURTH GRADE CLASSROOMS: A CASE STUDY AT SDN 100801 PASAR SEMPURNA

Abstract: This study examines the ethical and pedagogical implications of deep learning integration in fourth-grade classrooms at SDN 100801 Pasar Sempurna, Indonesia. Through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews with… h teachers, and document analysis, the research found that deep learning applications significantly improved student engagement and individualized learning outcomes. However, ethical concerns emerged regarding data privacy, unequal access to digital tools, and limited teacher preparedness. Teachers expressed uncertainty in balancing technological autonomy with moral and pedagogical control. The study concludes that while deep learning supports more adaptive and inclusive learning environments, its ethical implementation remains constrained by insufficient institutional policies and digital literacy. Strengthening teacher competence and establishing transparent ethical frameworks are crucial for ensuring responsible AI integration in primary education. These findings provide practical insights into balancing innovation and ethics in early educational contexts.

THE IMPACT OF CONTINUOUS PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT (CPD) ON SHIFTING TEACHER BELIEFS AND CLASSROOM PRACTICES IN STEM EDUCATION

Abstract: This study investigates the impact of Continuous Professional Development (CPD) on shifting teacher beliefs and classroom practices in STEM education at SDN No. 100710 Hapesong Baru.. The research aimed to explore how sustained… stained professional learning experiences contribute to teachers’ pedagogical transformation from content transmitters to learning facilitators. Employing a qualitative case study design, data were collected through classroom observations, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis involving four STEM teachers who participated in a year-long CPD program. The findings reveal that CPD fostered significant changes in teachers’ beliefs toward student-centered learning and encouraged more interactive, inquiry-based classroom practices. However, challenges such as limited institutional support and resource constraints still hindered full pedagogical implementation. The study highlights the importance of contextualized CPD programs in developing reflective and adaptive STEM educators, offering insights for policymakers and practitioners seeking to enhance teacher professionalism in developing-country contexts.

APPLYING DEEP LEARNING TO SUPPORT EARLY COGNITIVE DEVELOPMENT IN PRIMARY STUDENTS: INSIGHTS FROM AN INDONESIAN ISLAMIC SCHOOL CONTEXT

Abstract: The rapid advancement of artificial intelligence (AI) offers new opportunities to enhance teaching and learning in early education. This study applies deep learning approaches to support early cognitive development among… primary students in an Indonesian Islamic school. A hybrid Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) and Long Short Term Memory (LSTM) model was designed to analyse students’ cognitive patterns, attention, and engagement. Using a mixed-methods design, the research involved 60 students aged 8–10 at MIS Terpadu Alhijrah Bintuju. The model processed multimodal classroom data to generate adaptive feedback and personalized learning pathways. Results showed significant improvements in attention (+18%), memory recall (+22%), and problem-solving (+25%) after eight weeks of AI-assisted learning. Qualitative findings revealed higher motivation, engagement, and self-regulation. The study demonstrates that culturally aligned AI systems can effectively enhance early cognitive development and promote learner autonomy in Islamic primary education.

FOSTERING ACTIVE LEARNING AND COLLABORATION IN ENGLISH CLASS THROUGH RALLY TABLE STRATEGY

Abstract: This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Rally Table strategy in improving students’ English writing skills at the junior high school level. The research employed a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test and… and post-test non-equivalent control group design. The participants consisted of eighth-grade students from MTsS Al-Qosimiyah Sorek Satu, divided into experimental and control groups. The experimental group received writing instruction using the Rally Table strategy, a cooperative learning technique where students take turns contributing to a written task collaboratively. In contrast, the control group received conventional teaching methods. Data were collected through writing tests and analyzed using statistical methods to determine the significance of the improvement. The results indicated that students in the experimental group showed a significantly higher improvement in writing performance compared to those in the control group. These findings suggest that the Rally Table strategy can effectively enhance students’ ability to generate ideas, organize content, and use grammar and vocabulary appropriately in writing. It is recommended that English teachers integrate cooperative learning strategies such as Rally Table into their writing instruction to foster active participation and improve writing outcomes.

THE ROLE OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL TEACHERS IN INTEGRATING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE CONCEPTS THROUGH SIMPLE CODING ACTIVITIES

Abstract: The rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) presents both opportunities and challenges for elementary education. Teachers play a strategic role in preparing young learners to understand and adapt to technology… critically, creatively, and ethically. This study aims to analyze the role of elementary school teachers in integrating AI concepts through simple coding activities, as well as to identify the strategies and challenges encountered during implementation. The research employed a qualitative descriptive approach, using interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis as data collection techniques. The findings reveal that teachers serve as digital learning facilitators, innovators in designing coding-based learning activities, and ethical guides who help students use technology responsibly. Simple coding activities effectively foster students’ logical thinking, creativity, and digital collaboration skills. However, limited technological infrastructure and insufficient teacher training remain major obstacles to sustainable implementation. Therefore, systemic support through educational policy, professional development, and adaptive curriculum design is essential. Integrating AI concepts through simple coding in elementary schools not only enhances digital literacy but also cultivates ethical awareness and social responsibility toward technology. With collaborative support from educators, institutions, and policymakers, elementary education can become a foundational stage for shaping a generation that is intelligent, creative, and morally grounded in the era of artificial intelligence

THE INFLUENCE OF IN DEPTH LEARNING ON STUDENTS MOTIVATION AND LEARNING INDEPENDENCE AT PADANGSIDIMPUAN STATE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL 200306

Abstract: Abstract This study aims to analyze the effect of the implementation of immersive learning on student motivation and learning independence at Padangsidimpuan Public Elementary School 200306. The background of this research… arch stems from the need to provide a learning process that is not only oriented towards final results, but also encourages students to understand the meaning of learning, think critically, and take responsibility for their learning process. The research method used was a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. The study subjects included 50 fifth-grade students divided into an experimental group and a control group. Data collection instruments included a learning motivation questionnaire, a learning independence observation sheet, and documentation of learning outcomes. Data were analyzed using a t-test to determine significant differences between the two groups.   The results showed that the implementation of immersive learning had a positive and significant impact on increasing student motivation and learning independence. Students participating in immersive learning demonstrated greater enthusiasm, active question-asking, and the ability to manage assignments independently compared to those in the control group. These findings indicate that immersive learning strategies can be an effective alternative in developing reflective, independent, and problem-solving-oriented learners. Thus, the implementation of immersive learning in elementary schools needs to be continuously strengthened through teacher training, the development of teaching materials, and a learning culture that fosters students' ongoing curiosity.    

EXPLORING STUDENTS' ENGLISH LEARNING EXPERIENCES THROUGH GAME-BASED LEARNING: A PHENOMENOLOGICAL STUDY OF THE USE OF GIMKIT AT STAI SUSHA SIAK

Abstract: English language learning in Islamic colleges faces challenges related to motivation, engagement, and a classroom atmosphere that tends to be monotonous. In today's digital context, Game-Based Learning (GBL) offers an innovative… novative approach that can change these dynamics through fun and interactive game elements. This study aims to explore the subjective experiences of students at the Susha Siak Islamic College (STAI) in using Gimkit as a game-based English learning medium. The approach used is interpretive phenomenology based on Heidegger's thinking, which focuses on the meaning of participants' life experiences. Data were obtained through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and reflective journals from seven students who actively used Gimkit in their English classes. Data analysis followed Colaizzi's (1978) steps to identify essential themes from the participants' experiences. The results of the study show three main themes: (1) fun and challenging learning, (2) a more lively and competitive classroom atmosphere, and (3) increased cohesiveness and solidarity among students. The learning experience through Gimkit brings out strong intrinsic motivation, self-confidence, and positive emotional involvement. This study concludes that GBL through Gimkit not only improves the effectiveness of English language learning, but also strengthens the values of togetherness and collaboration in the context of Islamic higher education.

DEVELOPING LEARNING MATERIALS ORIENTED TO A REALISTIC MATHEMATICS EDUCATION APPROACH INTEGRATED WITH ETHNOMATHEMATICS TO ENHANCE STUDENTS’ MATHEMATICAL PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS

Abstract: This research aims to develop a mathematics learning device oriented toward the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach based on Ethnomathematics to improve students’ mathematical problem-solving skills at MTs Negeri… egeri 3 Tapanuli Selatan. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) design using the 4-D model, which consists of four stages: defining, designing, developing, and disseminating. The research subjects were 36 seventh-grade students in the second semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. The instruments used included expert validation sheets, teacher and student practicality questionnaires, classroom observation sheets, and mathematical problem-solving tests. The results revealed that the developed learning device achieved an average expert validation score of 4.25 in the very valid category in terms of content, language, and presentation. The practicality test showed that the teacher’s response reached 89% and the students’ response reached 91%, categorized as very practical, indicating that the device was easy to use and engaging for students. The effectiveness test showed an average N-Gain score of 0.52 (moderate category) with 86.11% of students achieving mastery learning, signifying that the learning device was effective in enhancing students’ mathematical problem-solving abilities. The integration of the realistic mathematics approach with local cultural elements (ethnomathematics) successfully created meaningful and contextual learning experiences while fostering students’ appreciation for their cultural heritage. Therefore, the developed learning device is feasible to be implemented as an innovative mathematics learning medium based on cultural contexts in junior high schools and madrasah.
