Abstract: Learning difficulties among higher education students remain a critical issue, particularly in Islamic higher education institutions that integrate academic, moral, and spiritual dimensions. This study aims to analyze students’… udents’ learning difficulties from three main perspectives: psychological factors, learning strategies, and learning management at the Institute of Islamic Studies (Institut Agama Islam) Padang Lawas. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed, involving observations, semi-structured interviews, and document analysis. The participants consisted of undergraduate students and lecturers selected through purposive sampling. The findings reveal that students’ learning difficulties are strongly influenced by psychological factors such as low learning motivation, academic anxiety, limited self-confidence, and weak self-regulated learning skills. In addition, the dominance of conventional teaching strategies and limited student-centered learning practices contribute to low engagement and conceptual understanding. From a learning management perspective, constraints related to instructional planning, classroom organization, and evaluation systems further exacerbate students’ learning difficulties. Muhammad Nashi Huddin Ubaidillah, Rima Mella, Khusnul Fatimah, Zulfan, Khairawati
Abstract: This study investigates the forms and functions of illocutionary acts in the film Norah (2023) using a qualitative descriptive approach. The research problem centers on how dialogic interactions and rural Saudi socio-cultural… tural contexts shape the distribution of illocutionary types. Data were collected via observation and note-taking, then classified according to Searle’s five categories (assertive, directive, commissive, expressive, declarative) and analyzed through three stages: data collection, analysis, and presentation. The findings reveal that illocutionary speech acts in the film Norah are dominated by directives in the form of commands, prohibitions, and invitations, which highlight the speaker’s role in controlling actions. In addition, expressive and commissive acts appear in the form of advice, requests, and polite expressions that function to maintain harmony and interpersonal closeness. Overall, the use of illocutionary acts in the film reflects social relations and the dynamics of everyday interaction in rural Arab society.

Abstract: Stunting remains a major public health issue in Pesisir Selatan Regency, where the prevalence reached 29.8% in 2023, affecting children’s physical growth and cognitive development. This study aimed to analyze the association… iation between maternal characteristics (parity, maternal age during pregnancy, age at marriage, birth spacing, education level, occupation, and exclusive breastfeeding) and family income with stunting among children under five. A cross-sectional design was employed involving 30 mothers of young children selected from the working area of Kayu Gadang Public Health Center. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and anthropometric measurements, and analyzed using the Chi-Square test. The results showed that 66.7% of the children were stunted. Maternal characteristics—including parity, maternal age during pregnancy, age at marriage, birth spacing, educational level, and occupation—were not significantly associated with stunting (p>0.05). Significant associations were found between exclusive breastfeeding (p=0.019) and family income (p=0.026) with stunting. Children from families earning below the regional minimum wage and those not exclusively breastfed were more likely to be stunted. In conclusion, exclusive breastfeeding and family income are significant predictors of stunting. Therefore, interventions should emphasize improving exclusive breastfeeding practices and strengthening economic support for at-risk families. These findings are expected to guide evidence-based stunting prevention strategies in Pesisir Selatan Regency.

Wahdeni, Tuti khairani, Khairani Hasibuan, Hamka
Abstract: The training program “Developing a Growth Mindset Among Elementary School Teachers: A Training Guide for Enhancing Deep Learning” was organized by the Department of Education of Mandailing Natal Regency to strengthen teachers’… teachers’ pedagogical competence and foster a student-centered learning culture. This initiative was motivated by the 2022 PISA results, which revealed that more than 99% of Indonesian students could only solve problems at lower levels (Lower Order Thinking Skills), while less than 1% reached higher levels (Higher Order Thinking Skills). One of the underlying causes is the prevalence of a fixed mindset among teachers—the belief that intelligence is innate and difficult to change. This training aimed to cultivate a growth mindset based on Carol S. Dweck’s (2006) theory, which emphasizes that abilities can be developed through effort and learning strategies. The method employed was a reflective andragogical workshop involving material presentations, microteaching simulations, and collaborative reflections. The results indicated a significant improvement in teachers’ understanding of the growth mindset concept and its implementation in deep learning. Teachers began providing process praise, applying The Power of Yet strategy, and creating emotionally safe and collaborative classroom environments. Furthermore, the establishment of the Growth-Oriented Teacher Community of Mandailing Natal (KGB-Madina) emerged as a sustainable platform for sharing best teaching practices and fostering continuous professional growth.
