egy in improving students' reading comprehension, which focuses on literal meaning and descriptive text. This research used quasi-experimental research design involving an experimental class and a control class. The sample of this research were students of VII B as the experimental class, which consisted of 31 students, and the students of VIII A as the control class, which consisted of 31 students. The data was collected through pre-test and post-test. The results confirmed that the mean score of the experimental class had increased from 44.87 to 73.83. On the other hand, in the control class, it has increased from 48.29 to 62.64. The results of the test were analyzed statistically by applying 0.05 level of significance. The researcher found that the value of the t-count was higher than the t-table (4.59 > 1.67). In other words, the implementation of choral reading strategy can develop students' reading comprehension of the eighth-grade students of SMP Negeri 13 Palu. This strategy has a significant impact on the English learning process, especially helping students in reading comprehension to find information about the text and understand the entire meaning of the text, so that students can practice choral reading as their independent reading comprehension strategy in the future

Abstract:Obesity in mothers is a major worldwide health issue that significantly raises the need for obstetric procedures, especially cesarean sections. Numerous difficulties for both mothers and newborns have been linked to elevated…
ated pre-pregnancy and gestational body mass indexes (BMI). The purpose of this study is to characterize the distribution of delivery methods among pregnant women who are obese at Dr. H. Abdul Moeloek Regional Hospital in Lampung Province, Indonesia. Total sampling was used to perform a quantitative, descriptive retrospective analysis. 58 pregnant women with a BMI of 30 kg/m² or above who gave birth between 2017 and 2023 were included. SPSS version 27.0 was utilized for data analysis. Findings out of the 58 instances that could be analyzed, 69.0% of obese pregnant women gave delivery via cesarean section, 27.6% gave birth spontaneous vaginally, and 3.4% had a vacuum induction. The majority (31.0%) were between the ages of 35 and 39, and 77.6% were multiparous. The type of delivery was found to be strongly influenced by maternal age, parity, and obesity. Being obese greatly raises the risk of having a cesarean section, especially for older and multiparous women. Reducing needless cesarean rates and improving mother and newborn outcomes may be possible with early treatments such as lifestyle modification education, prenatal counseling, and BMI-based risk assessment.

Abstract:The intensive use of synthetic chemical pesticides in agriculture has led to various negative impacts on the environment and human health, as well as increased pest resistance. As an alternative, plant-based pesticides (botanical…
botanical insecticides) have shown potential due to their eco-friendly and sustainable nature. This study aims to review the effectiveness of soursop (Annona muricata) leaf extract as a botanical pesticide against the gray caterpillar (Spodoptera litura) on mustard plants (Brassica juncea), using a literature review method. Data were collected through a systematic search of accredited national and international scientific journals, then analyzed descriptively and comparatively. The findings indicate that soursop leaves contain bioactive compounds such as acetogenins, flavonoids, and saponins, which act as stomach poisons, antifeedants, and repellents to S. litura. Several studies reported that extracts from Annona spp. leaves and seeds effectively inhibit larval growth, reduce feeding activity, damage digestive tissues, and lead to larval death. This effectiveness highlights the potential of soursop leaves as a safe and efficient candidate for botanical pesticide development. The study also identifies a research gap regarding field-scale testing on mustard plants, suggesting the need for further agronomic validation.
