ASSOCIATION BETWEEN INHALED CORTICOSTEROIDS AND OSTEOPOROSIS: A REVIEW

Nurfadilasari, Ulfa Mustofa, Liberitera, Sternatami
Abstract: Inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) are commonly prescribed to manage asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) due to their local anti-inflammatory effects in the airways. However, prolonged or high-dose ICS use… has been associated with systemic adverse effects, including decreased bone mineral density (BMD) and increased risk of osteoporosis. This review aimed to examine the association between ICS use and the risk of osteoporosis or fractures, and to identify modifying factors such as dose, duration, patient age, sex, and type of corticosteroid used. Literature review was conducted using databases including PubMed, Scopus, and Web of Science. Articles were selected using specific inclusion and exclusion criteria. The review focused on original studies published up to March 2025, resulting in 28 relevant articles, of which 6–8 high-quality studies were analyzed in depth. Most studies demonstrated that long-term or high-dose ICS use is associated with decreased BMD and increased risk of fractures, especially in elderly COPD patients. The greatest risk was linked to fluticasone and budesonide at doses ≥500 µg/day. Some studies found neutral or even protective effects in specific subgroups, indicating population-dependent variability. Meta-analyses revealed conflicting results due to heterogeneity in populations and methodologies. High-dose and long-term ICS use may increase the risk of osteoporosis. Clinicians should consider individualized risk assessments and adopt strategies such as using the lowest effective dose, monitoring BMD, and providing calcium and vitamin D supplementation in at-risk populations.

STRENGTHENING ENGLISH LANGUAGE SKILL: ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNING PROGRAMME BASED ON CONTEXTUAL TEACHING AND LEARNING FOR THE YOUNG GENERATION OF TEGAL ISLAND

Andriyaningsih, Ayu, MS, Vike Aprilianin, Sutiyono, Sutiyono
Abstract: This community service program aimed to enhance the English language skills of elementary school students on Tegal Island, Lampung Province, through the implementation of a Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) approach.… . Limited English proficiency among local children has long hindered effective communication with foreign visitors and restricted opportunities for community-based tourism development. To address this challenge, the program incorporated basic English vocabulary related to the beach environment into interactive activities, such as songs, games, visual aids, and direct exploration of local surroundings. These methods were designed to provide authentic, engaging, and memorable language learning experiences tailored to the learners’ environment. A pre-test and post-test design was employed to evaluate the program’s effectiveness. The results demonstrated a substantial improvement in students’ vocabulary mastery, with mean scores rising from 61.36 on the pre-test to 89.73 on the post-test. Statistical analysis using a paired sample t-test revealed a significance value of 0.000 (p < 0.05), confirming that CTL significantly enhanced vocabulary acquisition. The normalized gain (N-Gain) indicated a high level of progress among participants, showing consistent improvement across all learners. Beyond cognitive gains, qualitative observations indicated that students exhibited greater confidence, motivation, and environmental awareness as they linked English lessons to familiar contexts. This program illustrates that CTL offers a practical, low-cost, and highly effective strategy for empowering youth in remote island communities. By contextualizing English instruction in real-life settings, CTL not only fosters academic achievement but also supports community engagement, cultural pride, and sustainable human resource development in rural tourism areas.

Widiyanto, Widiyanto, Yuliana, Euis Dewi, Burmansah, Burmansah
Abstract: The purpose of this study is to describe how local factors through a Buddhist approach influence the practice of religious moderation in the village of Rajabasa Lama, Labuhan Ratu District, East Lampung Regency, Lampung… Province. The primary focus of this research is on the role of Buddhists in internalizing and implementing the four main pillars of religious moderation, namely commitment to nationalism, tolerance, anti-violence, and appreciation of local culture in the life of the village community. This study uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method. Data collection techniques involve participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. According to Colaizzi, the research procedure refers to the seven stages of phenomenology, while informants were selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data are analyzed through pattern matching, explanation making, and time series analysis. The research results show that Buddhist communities in the village of Rajabasa Lama have successfully implemented religious moderation by integrating the values of the Hasta Arya Marga teachings in Buddhism and the principles of multiculturalism in social life. National commitment, a sense of tolerance, anti-violence, and appreciation for their local culture are reflected in inclusive attitudes, active tolerance, and participation in interfaith activities without creating exclusive boundaries. This moderation process is formed through the practice of wisdom, morality, and concentration expressed in peaceful, ethical, and dialogical social discourse, thus strengthening a harmonious collective identity.

Ardianto, Hendri, Gelgel, I Putu, Burmansah, Burmansah
Abstract: The purpose of this study is to describe how local factors affect the practice of religious moderation in Pejambon Village, Negeri Katon District, Pesawaran Regency, Lampung Province. The primary focus of this research lies… ies in the role of local leadership in internalizing and implementing the four main pillars of religious moderation, namely national commitment, tolerance, non-violence, and accommodation to local culture in the lives of rural communities. This study uses a qualitative approach with a single case study method. Data collection techniques were done through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. The research procedure refers to six stages of case studies according to Robert K. Yin, while the informants were selected using purposive sampling and snowball sampling techniques. Data is analyzed through pattern matching, explanation creation, and time series analysis. The study results show that local leadership plays a significant role in contextually building a narrative of moderation through example, deliberation, and social participation. The practice of moderation is not conveyed through formal instruction alone. Still, it is culturally shaped through social interaction, interfaith activities, and strengthening local values that align with national principles. Leadership prioritizing social awareness, openness, and inclusivity has maintained social cohesion and enhanced inter-religious harmony in a pluralistic village. These findings contribute to developing a theory of local leadership based on the values of religious moderation at the grassroots level.

Yuyun Yuniarsih, Nunung Sanusi, Abyan Faliq Athallah, Rafly Ramadhany
Abstract: This study aims to analyze the role of Instagram as a digital marketing communication medium in promoting the Tajur Katineung natural tourist attraction, and to identify the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in… supporting this marketing strategy. The method used is descriptive qualitative with a case study approach. Data were collected through direct observation of the Instagram account @tajurkatineung, digital insight documentation, and literature studies related to digital marketing, social media, and AI. The results show that Instagram has a strategic role in increasing the visibility and appeal of Tajur Katineung through its feed, story, and reels features. However, its utilization is still less than optimal in terms of content strategy, branding consistency, and audience engagement. AI technology is considered to have great potential in analyzing audience behavior and content effectiveness in real-time. Unfortunately, the use of AI is still very limited due to the lack of digital literacy among managers. From a media communication perspective, the @tajurkatineung account shows potential as a two-way media that allows direct interaction with the audience and forms a positive perception of the local tourist destination. This study recommends increasing the digital capacity of managers through training in the use of AI and content strategy, as well as collaboration with influencers and the use of Instagram Ads. This research provides theoretical contributions to the study of digital communication and social media-based marketing, as well as practical benefits for tourism actors in optimizing destination promotion strategies with the support of digital technology.

Abstract: This study explores the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the development of the heritage tourism destination Taman Sari Yogyakarta. As a cultural site with rich historical and architectural values, Taman Sari… ri has great potential to become a leading historical tourism destination through the application of modern digital technologies. This research is highly relevant in the context of the Society 5.0 era, where digital transformation and multi-stakeholder collaboration through the pentahelix model (government, academia, business sector, community, and media) are key approaches in sustainable tourism governance. The objectives of this research are: (1) to identify the potential of AI application in enhancing the attractiveness of Taman Sari as a heritage tourism site, (2) to analyze the role of local communities in the digital transformation of the destination, and (3) to formulate a structured collaborative strategy for the development of AI based heritage destinations. The research employs a qualitative method using data collection techniques including observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Informants included representatives from government, local communities, academia, tourism businesses, and tourists. Thematic analysis was used to interpret the data and identify patterns and meanings related to stakeholder participation and partnership. The findings indicate that AI can serve as a tool for cultural preservation and enhancement of tourist experiences, through features such as historical chatbots and augmented reality. However, challenges remain, including limited infrastructure, low digital literacy among local communities, and weak inter-stakeholder collaboration. The study also finds that local communities have the potential to act as agents of digital literacy if actively involved in training programs and AI-based tourism management. The research concludes that developing heritage tourism destinations like Taman Sari requires strong synergy among stakeholders through the formation of inclusive digital collaboration forums. AI technology can be a valuable medium for cultural preservation when implemented in a contextual, participatory, and sustainable manner.

OPTIMIZATION OF CARAGENAN CONCENTRATION IN THE PRODUCTION OF NORI IPOMOEA REPTANS SNACKS BASED ON ORGANOLEPTIC TESTING

Anggi Anggraeni, Cartono, Mia Nurkanti
Abstract: Nori is a seaweed-based food that is favored by the Indonesian people, but its availability is still limited. Meanwhile, the abundant production of land kale (Ipomoea reptans) as a local vegetable has not been optimally… utilized, resulting in low economic value and its potential as a food source has not been maximized. One solution to overcome this problem is to use organic land kale as an alternative ingredient for making nori. Organic land kale is known to have good nutritional content and is commonly consumed by the community. This study aims to determine the level of acceptance of analog nori made from organic land kale as a healthy snack through organoleptic tests. The method used was an experiment with a completely randomized design (CRD), consisting of 24 samples, 6 treatments, and 4 repetitions. The treatment given was carrageenan concentration (0%, 0.6%, 0.8%, 1%, 1.2%, and 1.4%) Data were analyzed using the Friedman Test to assess panelists' preferences for taste, color, aroma, and texture parameters. It can be concluded that the results show the addition of carrageenan at 1% produces analog nori with the highest level of acceptance, so it is considered the most optimal formulation.
