Yossar, Yossar, Nur Hakima Akhirani, Mira Yanti Lubis, Fithri Choirunnisa Siregar, Sutan Botung Hasibuan, Rusydi AM, Riki Saputra
Abstract: Muhammad Iqbal emerged during a period of intellectual stagnation in the Muslim world in the early 20th century, introducing a fresh and visionary idea: the reconstruction of religious thought. In his seminal work, The Reconstruction… Reconstruction of Religious Thought in Islam, Iqbal proposed a way out of this stagnation by revitalizing the Islamic intellectual heritage while engaging in a critical dialogue with modernity. This study aims to examine the key concepts of Iqbal's project, including his critique of Greek philosophy, his dynamic view of ijtihad (legal reasoning), his theory of the "Khudi" (Self), his dynamic concept of God and the universe, and his vision of spiritual democracy. Using a qualitative approach with philosophical-hermeneutic analysis, this research concludes that while Iqbal's thought has been widely appreciated as a revitalizing force for Islamic intellectualism, it has also faced criticism concerning its practical implementation and philosophical consistency. The study finds that Iqbal's ideas remain profoundly relevant today, particularly in navigating the challenges of modernity without sacrificing Islamic identity.

Embin Nasution, Ahmad Nizar Rangkuti, Mariam Nasution
Abstract: This research aims to develop a mathematics learning device oriented toward the Realistic Mathematics Education (RME) approach based on Ethnomathematics to improve students’ mathematical problem-solving skills at MTs Negeri… egeri 3 Tapanuli Selatan. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) design using the 4-D model, which consists of four stages: defining, designing, developing, and disseminating. The research subjects were 36 seventh-grade students in the second semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. The instruments used included expert validation sheets, teacher and student practicality questionnaires, classroom observation sheets, and mathematical problem-solving tests. The results revealed that the developed learning device achieved an average expert validation score of 4.25 in the very valid category in terms of content, language, and presentation. The practicality test showed that the teacher’s response reached 89% and the students’ response reached 91%, categorized as very practical, indicating that the device was easy to use and engaging for students. The effectiveness test showed an average N-Gain score of 0.52 (moderate category) with 86.11% of students achieving mastery learning, signifying that the learning device was effective in enhancing students’ mathematical problem-solving abilities. The integration of the realistic mathematics approach with local cultural elements (ethnomathematics) successfully created meaningful and contextual learning experiences while fostering students’ appreciation for their cultural heritage. Therefore, the developed learning device is feasible to be implemented as an innovative mathematics learning medium based on cultural contexts in junior high schools and madrasah.

CORRELATION BETWEEN HEMOGLOBIN A1c (HbA1c) LEVELS AND MICROALBUMINURIA IN DIABETES MELLITUS PATIENTS AT PRODIA SUNTER

Putri, Maylina, Putra, I Gusti Putu Agus Ferry Sutrisna, Prihatiningsih, Diah
Abstract: Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a disease caused by pancreatic failure in performing its function of producing insulin. A lack of insulin will lead to an increase in blood glucose levels, also known as hyperglycemia. Hemoglobin… n A1c and microalbuminuria are screening examinations used to detect the early onset of diabetic nephropathy. Diabetic nephropathy is defined as a clinical syndrome in diabetes mellitus patients characterized by persistent albuminuria, an irreversible decrease in glomerular filtration rate, and increased arterial blood pressure. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between Hemoglobin A1c and microalbuminuria in diabetes mellitus patients at Prodia Sunter. The research method used is quantitative analytic with a cross-sectional approach. The data collected were secondary data from the period of January–July 2024 with a total of 60 samples. Sampling was conducted using purposive sampling and met the inclusion criteria, namely patients over 60 years of age, Hemoglobin A1c value ≥7, diagnosed with diabetes mellitus, no history of thalassemia, and who had undergone Hemoglobin A1c and microalbuminuria examinations. The results of this study show a significant unidirectional positive relationship with a very strong correlation between Hemoglobin A1c levels and microalbuminuria in diabetes mellitus patients, with sig (2-tailed) = 0.000 and correlation coefficient value = 0.892. The relationship between Hemoglobin A1c levels and microalbuminuria is unidirectional positive, meaning that the higher the Hemoglobin A1c levels, the higher the microalbuminuria levels.

Febri Yanti Tanjung, A. Naashir M. Tuah Lubis, Sakinah Siregar
Abstract: This study is motivated by the lack of use of mathematics learning tools such as student worksheets (LKPD) at MAS Darul Istiqomah Padangsidimpuan, where teacher handbooks and textbooks are more frequently used. Additionally,… lly, the students' mathematics learning outcomes, particularly in the topic of arithmetic sequences and series, are low. This study aims to assess the validity, practicality, and effectiveness of student worksheets (LKPD) based on brain-based learning (BBL) using crossword puzzles in the topic of arithmetic sequences and series for class X at MAS Darul Istiqomah Padangsidimpuan. This research is a research and development (R&D) study. The development model used in this research is the 4D model, which consists of four stages: Define, Design, Development, and Disseminate. The validation of the LKPD includes material validation, media validation, and language validation. The trial was conducted in class X-B, with a total of 19 students at MAS Darul Istiqomah Padangsidimpuan. The material experts, media experts, and language experts each consisted of 2 validators. The results of this study indicate that the developed LKPD meets the eligibility criteria, with an overall validation percentage of 87.32%, categorized as valid. The practicality of all aspects is shown by a value of 85.63%, categorized as very practical. The effectiveness is indicated by an average student learning outcome score of 71%, calculated from the overall average learning outcomes of the students, categorized as effective. Therefore, it can be concluded that the LKPD is feasible, engaging, and capable of improving student learning outcomes.

THE INFLUENCE OF SOCIAL MEDIA ON PUBLIC PARTICIPATION IN ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES

Elva Rinda
Abstract: Social media has transformed the global communication landscape and has become a vital instrument in increasing awareness and public participation on various environmental issues. This study aims to analyze the role and… impact of social media in encouraging public engagement in environmental movements, both at the local and global levels. Using a qualitative approach with a combination of systematic literature analysis and multiple case studies, this research examines how social media platforms facilitate the dissemination of environmental information, promote collective action, and create spaces for discussions on environmental sustainability. The findings indicate that social media plays a significant role in mobilizing individuals to take concrete actions on environmental issues through three main mechanisms: (1) democratization of environmental information, (2) facilitation of the formation of environmental communities, and (3) acceleration of collective responses to urgent environmental issues. However, the study also identifies critical challenges, including the spread of false information, digital divide, and slacktivism phenomena that may hinder the effectiveness of digital environmental campaigns. Further analysis reveals that the effectiveness of social media use in environmental campaigns heavily depends on content strategies, timing, and the involvement of environmental influencers. The study also finds a positive correlation between the intensity of social media usage for environmental purposes and the level of public awareness and active involvement in environmental preservation. Additionally, the research highlights the significant role of social media as a catalyst for pro-environmental behavior among younger generations. These findings contribute significantly to the development of more effective environmental communication strategies in the digital era, emphasizing the importance of digital literacy in the context of environmental activism. The study recommends combining social media power with concrete actions to achieve optimal impact in addressing environmental challenges.
