CRIMINAL RESPONSIBILITY OF CHILDREN IN BRAWLS THAT RESULTED IN DEATH IN REVIEW OF LAW NUMBER 35 OF 2014 (STUDY OF DECISION PN TANJUNG KARANG NUMBER 11/PID.SUS-ANAK/2025/PN TJK)

Benny Karya Limantara, Carissa Novira Putri
Abstract: Student brawls involving children remain a recurring social phenomenon in Indonesia and frequently result in serious criminal offenses, including those causing death. Children as perpetrators of criminal acts occupy a special… ecial position within the criminal justice system; therefore, their criminal liability cannot be equated with that of adults. This study aims to analyze the criminal liability of children involved in brawls resulting in death and to examine the application of legal provisions in the Decision of the Tanjung Karang District Court based on the Child Protection Act and the Juvenile Criminal Justice System. The research employs normative juridical and empirical juridical approaches through the study of statutory regulations, analysis of court decisions, and interviews with law enforcement officers. The data were analyzed qualitatively to describe the implementation of juvenile criminal law. The findings indicate that child offenders may still be held criminally liable while observing the principle of the best interest of the child. Judges consider both juridical and non-juridical aspects, including the child’s role in the offense, age, psychological condition, and social inquiry reports, resulting in sanctions that emphasize rehabilitation rather than retribution. This study concludes that the application of juvenile criminal law in cases of brawls resulting in death is in accordance with prevailing legal provisions; however, improvements in the quality of case handling by law enforcement agencies are still necessary to ensure balanced and sustainable child protection and justice for victims.

Yeheskial A Roen, Jeni M. Ataupah, Jacklin S. Manafe
Abstract: This study aims to analyze the social function of bini traditional poetry in the maintenance of the socio-cultural identity of local communities in Londalusi, East Rote District, Rote-Ndao Regency. The focus of the research… rch is directed at the identification of the educational, normative, symbolic, integrative, and communicative functions of oral traditions related to the life cycle of society, including birth, marriage, and death. This study uses a qualitative approach with ethnographic-descriptive design. Data was collected through in-depth interviews and documentation of traditional narratives submitted by two key informants, namely traditional speakers (manehelo) and local traditional leaders. Data analysis was carried out thematically to map the social function of traditional narratives in the context of people's social lives. The results of the study show that traditional narratives and traditional bini poetry play an important role as a medium for inheriting traditional values, collective memory, local cosmology, and inter-generational social ethics. This oral tradition functions as a means of informal education, a regulator of social norms, a symbol of representation of the Rote people's worldview, a strengthening of social cohesion, and a cultural communication medium that maintains the continuity of the socio-cultural identity of the local community. This research confirms that the oral tradition of bini is not just an aesthetic expression, but a living and adaptive socio-cultural system. These findings contribute to strengthening the study of oral literature and cultural anthropology, especially in the context of Indonesian archipelago communities.

THE URGENCY OF BELIEVING THE LAST VERSES OF SYAIKH NAJMUDDIN AL-KUBRA'S PERSPECTIVE (A STUDY OF THE INTERPRETATION OF TASAWUF AKHLAQI)

Rizal Ahmad Fauzi, Badrudin, Salim Rosyadi
Abstract: The eschatological phenomenon which states that life in the world will end when death comes, so that those who experience death will be delivered to the afterlife, this becomes a theological basis for Muslims to be implied… ed in their lives in the world, because the afterlife along with its fate or journey is a reflection of oneself in living life in the world. Examining the verses of the Qur'an that discuss the afterlife has relevance to the interpretation of Shaykh Najmuddin al-Kubra in the book of tafsīr at-ta'wīlāt an-najmiyyah which has a style of isyari or sufistic interpretation, so that understanding the verses about the afterlife becomes new knowledge that is applied and experienced using the heart. This research produces a discussion of the verses of the Qur'an that explain the afterlife, such as the explanation of the realm of barzakh (QSal-Mu'minun: 100), the Day of Judgment (QSibrahīm: 48), the realm of resurrection (QSar-Rūm: 56), Yaum al-Mīzān (QSal-A ʻraf : 8-9), Yaum al- Ḥisāb (QSal-Kahf: 49), Yaum at-Tagābun (QSat-Tagābun: 9), Yaum al-Aʻraf (QSal-Aʻraf: 46), hell (QSal-Baqarah: 24), and heaven (QSaz-Zumar: 73). Thus, this research concludes that the fate of a creature will be determined according to the good deeds carried during life in this world. If more good deeds are brought then the fate of life in the afterlife will be determined by Allah SWT, but conversely if there are more bad deeds brought then the fate of life in the afterlife will be a place cursed by Allah SWT.

EFFECTIVENESS OF SOURSOP (ANNONA MURICATA) LEAF EXTRACT AS A BOTANICAL PESTICIDE AGAINST ARMYWORM (SPODOPTERA LITURA) ON MUSTARD GREENS (BRASSICA JUNCEA)

Sulaminingsih
Abstract: The intensive use of synthetic chemical pesticides in agriculture has led to various negative impacts on the environment and human health, as well as increased pest resistance. As an alternative, plant-based pesticides (botanical… botanical insecticides) have shown potential due to their eco-friendly and sustainable nature. This study aims to review the effectiveness of soursop (Annona muricata) leaf extract as a botanical pesticide against the gray caterpillar (Spodoptera litura) on mustard plants (Brassica juncea), using a literature review method. Data were collected through a systematic search of accredited national and international scientific journals, then analyzed descriptively and comparatively. The findings indicate that soursop leaves contain bioactive compounds such as acetogenins, flavonoids, and saponins, which act as stomach poisons, antifeedants, and repellents to S. litura. Several studies reported that extracts from Annona spp. leaves and seeds effectively inhibit larval growth, reduce feeding activity, damage digestive tissues, and lead to larval death. This effectiveness highlights the potential of soursop leaves as a safe and efficient candidate for botanical pesticide development. The study also identifies a research gap regarding field-scale testing on mustard plants, suggesting the need for further agronomic validation.

DESCRIPTION OF LOW DENSITY LIPOPROTEIN (LDL) LEVELS AND FASTING COMPLIANCE IN OUTPATIENT CARDIAC PATIENTS AT RSU PRIMA MEDIKA DENPASAR IN THE MONTHS OF FEBRUARY TO MARCH 2025

Ni Putu Martiana Prawita Sari, Nyoman Sudarma, Prasetya, Didik
Abstract: Cardiovascular disease remains a leading cause of death both globally and nationally, with Low Density Lipoprotein(LDL) levels serving as a key biochemical indicator in the screening and management of heart disease. Accurate… rate LDL testing requires adherence to pre-analytical procedures, particularly fasting for 10-12 hours. This study aimed to describe LDL levels and fasting compliance among outpatient cardiac patients at RSU Prima Medika Denpasar. A descriptive cross-sectional design was used with purposive sampling, involving 35 cardiac outpatients from February to March 2025. Data were collected through interviews and laboratory examinations using the Furuno CA-270 device. Results showed that 71% of respondents had LDL levels >100 mg/dL, indicating high levels, while 29% hadnormal levels (<100 mg/dL). All respondents (100%) complied with the fasting requirement. These findings indicate that high LDL levels are still commonly found among outpatient cardiac patients, particularly in productive-age males. The high level of fasting compliance reflects the effectiveness of pre-analytical patient education. This study emphasizes the importance of routine lipid screening and continuous education to enhance laboratory diagnostic accuracy and prevent cardiovascular complications.

CHILDREN’S EDUCATION AS PERPETUAL CHARITY: A THEMATIC STUDY OF THE PROPHET’S HADITH

Nur Mawaddah Islamiyah, Romlah Abu Bakar Askar, Abdul Ghofur
Abstract: The hadith of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) mentions three deeds that continue to benefit a person after death: ongoing charity (ṣadaqah jāriyah), beneficial knowledge, and a righteous child who prays for their parents.… parents. This hadith conveys a profound message about the importance of child education as a spiritual investment. This article aims to examine the urgency of children’s education from the perspective of this hadith by exploring the spiritual and social significance of having a righteous child as a continuous source of reward. This study employs a qualitative approach through library research, drawing on collections of hadith, classical Islamic literature (turas) such as the works of Imam al-Ghazali, Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyyah, and Imam Nawawī, as well as contemporary references from nationally accredited journals. The findings indicate that educating children possesses a transcendental dimension, making it a form of ongoing charity for parents—especially when the child grows to be righteous and contributes positively to society. This research recommends that the concept of child education should not be viewed solely from a worldly perspective but should also be instilled as part of eschatological awareness within the Islamic education system.

This Lendawi, as part of the Lanny culture, should be carried out by the Lanny community. The objectives… are (1) to explain the structure of the Lendawi (Lanny lamentation), (2) to find out the type of stanza among the Lanny tribe, (3) to discuss on what occasions the Lendawi (Lanny lamentation) lamented, and (4) to elaborate the socio-cultural values contained in the Lendawi (Lanny lamentation). This research is qualitative because it only gives explanations about a problem in the form of words, not numbers. The writer found a structural pattern in the lendawi structure. Pattern (1) for men: silent trigger (inhale) + men starting pattern (2) for women: silent trigger (inhale) + women starting. Occasion: (1) to mourn the death of twenty-one people; (2) to welcome the new family who has just returned from a foreign land; (3) to release the family member to go overseas; (4) to release a girl to marry and follow her husband; (5) to remember a family member who has died; (6) to thank people for offering; (7) to mourn for a person who looks similar to a family member (dead or alive); and (8) to think about hard work in the garden that used to be shared with other family members (either dead or alive but living in some other place). THE QUR'AN IN RITES: HISTORICAL ANALYSIS AND ACCULTURATION OF JAVANESE CULTURE

Samsul Ariyadi
Abstract: This article examines the transformation of the meaning of the Quran in the context of death rites and death commemorations in Javanese society, especially in Central Java and Yogyakarta, during the period 2000–2023. This… his research approach is qualitative by utilizing ethnographic data, archival studies, ritual documentation, and in-depth interviews with ritual practitioners. The use of the Quran, which was originally a sacred Islamic text with normative content, has undergone a transformation of meaning when adapted into traditional Javanese rites. The process of cultural acculturation that occurred illustrates the dynamics between ancestral traditions and Islamic values, which provide space for the reinterpretation of religious symbols by local communities (Anderson, 2003; Suryadi, 2011). The historical analysis method and the theory of cultural transformation proposed by Clifford Geertz are used to explain the evolution of the use of the sacred text and highlight the role of ritual as a medium for negotiating meaning between cultures. The results of the study show that the insertion of Quranic verses into Javanese mantras not only functions as a sacred element, but also as a tool for social legitimacy and cultural identity of the Javanese people. This finding opens up opportunities for further study on the integrative role of ritual in shaping religious and cultural identity in Indonesia.
