FACTORS INFLUENCING WOMEN’S KNOWLEDGE OF BREAST CANCER: LITERATURE REVIEW

Andre Budi, Lady Evelyn Aritonang, Hendrianto
Abstract: Breast cancer remained the most frequently diagnosed cancer among women and continued to contribute substantially to morbidity and mortality, particularly in developing countries. In Indonesia, most breast cancer cases were… ere detected at an advanced stage, indicating inadequate knowledge and low awareness of early detection. This study aimed to identify factors influencing women’s knowledge of breast cancer through a systematic literature review. A literature review was conducted using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews. Ten national and international research articles published between 2021 and 2025 were analyzed using a qualitative descriptive approach supported by simple descriptive statistics through vote counting. The results showed that women’s knowledge of breast cancer was influenced by internal and external factors. Internal factors included education level, age, attitudes and awareness, and psychological factors. External factors comprised access to information and educational media, the role of health professionals, educational interventions, socioeconomic status, cultural norms, and family support. Education level and access to information were identified as the most dominant factors based on their frequency across the reviewed studies. It was concluded that women’s knowledge of breast cancer was shaped by the interaction between individual characteristics and social environments. Comprehensive and sustainable health education strategies were therefore required to improve breast cancer awareness and support early detection practices.

Warham, Jonea Octavien Wijaya, Widya Aulia, Sammy Samuel, Bram Adhitama
Abstract: Background: Cardiovascular disease (CVD) continues to be the predominant cause of global mortality. Polypill techniques that integrate various cardiovascular drugs into a single formulation have emerged as a potential method… thod for primary prevention, especially in intermediate-risk populations. Objective: To systematically review and synthesize evidence regarding the efficacy and safety of polypill formulations (comprising antihypertensive medications, statins, with or without aspirin) in comparison to standard care or placebo for the primary prevention of major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) in intermediate-risk populations. Methods: We conducted systematic review and meta-analysis in accordance with PRISMA 2020 standards (Systematic Review Registration: PROSPERO CRD420251184718). Various databases (PubMed, Cochrane Library, ScienceDirect, Scopus) were examined for original research published from January 2015 to October 2024. Studies were eligible if they assessed polypill therapies in individuals aged 30 to 70 years with intermediate cardiovascular risk (10-20% 10-year risk), reported composite major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) outcomes, and included a minimum follow-up of 6 months. Two independent reviewers conducted screening, data extraction, and risk of bias evaluation utilizing the Cochrane RoB 2.0 tool. Results: Of the 161 records discovered, 4 randomized controlled studies (HOPE-3, TIPS-3, PolyIran, PolyPars) with 31,501 people fulfilled the inclusion criteria. Polypill therapies showed a substantial decrease in composite MACE relative to control groups (pooled HR 0.67 (95% CI 0.60-0.75, p<0.001). Individual trial hazard ratios varied from 0.50 (PolyPars) to 0.66 (PolyIran) and 0.79 (TIPS-3) with moderate heterogeneity (I²=35.2%, p=0.20). Polypills were generally well- tolerated, with a safety profile consistent with the individual components. Medication adherence was enhanced with the polypill in comparison to multiple-pill regimens. Conclusions: Polypill techniques markedly reduce major adverse cardiovascular events (MACE) in intermediate-risk patients for primary cardiovascular prevention, achieving around a 33% relative risk reduction. The fixed-dose combination strategy provides benefits in compliance and ease of use. These findings hold significant implications for healthcare systems in low-to- middle-income nations, such as Indonesia, where the burden of cardiovascular disease is substantial and access to long-term cardiovascular drugs is frequently hindered by cost and complexity.

Niken Risma Astika, Priyatin Sulistiowati, Dwi Astuti
Abstract: On a world scale, the main cause of high maternal mortality is post-partum infection. Of the 500 million incidents of postpartum infections, there are 75,000 deaths, in Purbalingga the incidence of perineal infections will… ll reach 5.7% in 2023. One of the factors is the high rate of postpartum infections, namely low knowledge about infection prevention. One effective management is perineal wound care using NaCl 0.9%. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of wound treatment using 0.9% NaCl in normal primiparous post partum mothers with indications of perineal rupture in Kejobong Village. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. After treating the wound twice for 3 days using 0.9% NaCl, it was found that the wound looked better and there were no signs of infection as indicated by a decrease in the REEDA score from 11 categories of unhealed wounds to 2 categories of moderate wounds. This is supported by cleanliness of the wound area and choosing the right food. Wound treatment using 0.9% NaCl is effective for healing perineal ruptures.

Abstract: Background: Diarrhea is the second-leading cause of mortality in children under the age of five. Based on data from the Pontianak City Health Office in 2021, the number of findings was 727 in toddlers. And in 2022, there… were as many as 918 findings of diarrhea in toddlers at Gang Sehat Health Center. Mother's factor also affects the occurrence of diarrhea in toddlers. Knowledge is one of the factors causing the high mortality rate due to diarrhea. The importance of maternal knowledge and attitudes in handling diarrheal diseases needs to be discussed because diarrhea that is delayed or improperly handled can cause pain and adverse effects on children, namely infant mortality. Objective: To determine the relationship between mothers' knowledge and attitudes about diarrhea management and the classification of diarrhea in toddlers at the Gang Sehat Health Center. Methods: This study used the accidental sampling method with bivariate analysis using the Chi-Square test. Results: The Chi Square test resulted in a value of 0.934, meaning that the P value > 0.05 indicates that there is no relationship between maternal knowledge and diarrhea classification in toddlers. With the results of the value of 0.443, meaning that the P value > 0.05, there is no relationship between the mother's attitude and diarrhea classification about diarrhea management in toddlers. Conclusion: There is no relationship between knowledge and attitude of mothers with diarrhea classification regarding diarrhea management in toddlers

Antara Harapan dan Kehampaan: Teologi Eksistensial Pengkhotbah 9:1-6 dan Ambisi Manusia

Jane Isye Lambiombir
Abstract: Ecclesiastes 9:1-6 presents a fundamental and provocative theological statement about the reality of death as an inevitable fate for all humanity, without distinguishing between the righteous and the wicked. This discourse… se explicitly challenges the retributive ethical framework that assumes a linear relationship between morality and reward, while also revealing the existential absurdity of humans who often seek meaning through fragile worldly achievements. This study aims to interpret the pericope through an existential and contextual theological approach, focusing on its theological relevance in addressing the crisis of spirituality and ethics in modern culture dominated by ambition for power, economic exploitation, and the marginalization of transcendental values. Utilizing a reflective-critical hermeneutical method, this study argues that awareness of mortality should not lead to ontological despair, but rather serve as a starting point for forming a more authentic, relational, and ethical orientation to life. Death in this text functions as an epiphanic moment that unveils human limitations while reorienting existential focus toward God and social responsibility. The novelty of this research lies in its prophetic reading of a wisdom text that has often been interpreted pessimistically, highlighting its potential as a theological critique against modern nihilistic and anti-spiritual ideologies. This study contributes to the development of a contextual theological framework capable of constructively and transformatively responding to the crisis of meaning and ethics in contemporary society.

Hubungan Kadar Hemoglobin terhadap Saturasi Oksigen pada Pasien Rawat Inap Penyakit Paru Obstruktif Kronis (PPOK) Eksaserbasi Akut di RSUD dr. Suhatman Mars Kota Dumai

Octariany, Surya Arfa
Abstract: Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a progressive chronic respiratory disease that has become a global health concern due to its high morbidity and mortality rates and its impact on patients’ quality of life.… e. In acute exacerbation conditions, impaired oxygenation becomes a major problem that may be influenced by various factors, including hemoglobin levels as the primary component of oxygen transport in the blood. However, the relationship between hemoglobin levels and oxygen saturation in patients with acute exacerbation COPD remains inconsistent, particularly in populations exposed to high environmental risk factors. This study aimed to determine the relationship between hemoglobin levels and oxygen saturation in patients with acute exacerbation COPD hospitalized at RSUD dr. Suhatman MARS Dumai, Kota Dumai. This research employed an analytic observational design with a cross-sectional approach involving 73 patients selected through total sampling based on medical record data. Bivariate analysis using the Spearman correlation test showed no significant relationship between hemoglobin levels and oxygen saturation (r = 0.098; p = 0.412), indicating a very weak and statistically insignificant correlation. The study concluded that hemoglobin levels do not directly influence the oxygenation status of patients with acute exacerbation COPD, where impaired oxygenation is more strongly affected by respiratory factors such as ventilation-perfusion imbalance and structural lung damage. The novelty of this study lies in its empirical evidence demonstrating the limited role of hemoglobin as a predictor of oxygenation in patients with acute exacerbation COPD within a population with specific environmental characteristics, thereby providing a basis for developing more comprehensive clinical approaches in monitoring and managing COPD patients.

COMPARISON OF RESNET-50 AND DENSENET-121 CNNARCHITECTURES FOR MALARIA IMAGE CLASSIFICATION

Prayatna, Betantiyo, Budi, Kurnia, Fachruddin, Fachruddin
Abstract: Abstract: Malaria remains a major global health problem, particularly in tropical countries such as Indonesia. Accurate early diagnosis is essential for reducing malaria-related morbidity and mortality. Conventional microscopic… oscopic examination is time-consuming, highly dependent on expert personnel, and prone to human error. This study compares the performance of two Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) architectures, ResNet-50 and DenseNet-121, for malaria image classification. The Cell Images for Malaria dataset provided by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) through Kaggle was used, consisting of 27,558 microscopic blood cell images categorized into Parasitized and Uninfected classes. The dataset was divided into 80% training data and 20% testing data. Image preprocessing included resizing to 224 × 224 pixels, normalization, labeling, and data augmentation using RandomFlip, RandomRotation, RandomZoom, and RandomContrast. Experimental results showed that the ResNet-50 model trained for 100 epochs achieved the highest performance, with an accuracy of 95.54% and precision, recall, and F1-score of 0.96. The confusion matrix indicated 5,272 correctly classified images out of 5,510 testing samples. These findings demonstrate that ResNet-50 outperformed DenseNet-121 and has strong potential for supporting accurate, reliable, and efficient computer-aided malaria diagnosis based on microscopic blood smear images. Keywords: computer-aided diagnosis; convolutional neural network (CNN); densenet-121; early detection; image classification; malaria; microscopic blood smear images; resnet-50; Abstrak : Malaria masih menjadi masalah kesehatan global yang serius, terutama di negara tropis seperti Indonesia.
