RESPONSE OF MUSLIM INTELLECTUAL GROUPS TO DUTCH COLONIAL EDUCATION IN THE EARLY 20TH CENTURY

Ahmad Sirfi Fatoni
Abstract: Islamic Education and Colonial Education are two methods to educate the Indonesian people, especially in Java. Islamic Education and Colonial Education have their own advantages for society. Islamic Education tends to be… more religious, while Colonial Education tends to be secular and liberal. Each education has a different teaching system because it has different goals and targets according to the interests of the government in power at that time. This research method uses a historical method that is based on four things as usual, namely: heuristics, criticism, verification and historiography. Because this event is a political history, the researcher uses a socio-political approach to analyze it. On the other hand, assisted by the challenge and response theory developed by Arnold Toynbe. According to this theory, culture occurs because of challenges and answers between humans and their surroundings. The results of this study indicate that the existence of racial and discriminatory Dutch colonial government education resulted in the emergence of forms of resistance in the field of education. This phenomenon results in the birth of Islamic boarding schools and private schools such as: Tebu Ireng Islamic Boarding School (1899), Tambak Beras Islamic Boarding School (1919) East Java, Krapyak Islamic Boarding School, Yogyakarta (1911), Sukamanah Islamic Boarding School, Cipasung Tasikmalaya, West Java (1930). As for private schools (private) namely Muhammadiyah School (1912), Taman Siswa (1922) and Nahdlatul Ulama (1926).

Abstract: This study was conducted to examine the association between exclusive breastfeeding history and stunting among children aged 0–24 months at the Johar Baru District Primary Health Center. A correlational study design with… th a cross-sectional approach was employed. The study involved 83 mothers with children aged 0–24 months, who were selected through random sampling. Data were obtained via structured interviews using a master table and subsequently analyzed using the chi-square test with a significance level set at 5%.   The findings indicated that the majority of mothers were between 20 and 35 years of age (81.9%), did not have paid employment (68.9%), and had attained secondary to higher levels of education (78.3%). More than half of the respondents reported providing exclusive breastfeeding (56.6%), and most children were classified as not stunted (75.9%). Bivariate analysis revealed a statistically significant association between maternal age and the occurrence of stunting (p = 0.039). However, no significant associations were identified between maternal occupation (p = 0.159), maternal educational attainment (p = 0.203), or exclusive breastfeeding history (p = 0.925) and stunting incidence.   The study concludes that stunting is influenced by multiple interrelated factors, indicating that its prevention cannot rely solely on exclusive breastfeeding. Comprehensive strategies involving sustained nutritional interventions, improved environmental sanitation, and appropriate caregiving practices are essential to effectively reduce stunting. Therefore, health professionals are encouraged to continue promoting exclusive breastfeeding while simultaneously addressing other contributing factors that support optimal child growth and development.

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to explain the Early Islamization Pattern in Southeast Asia: Its Contribution to Global Peace Efforts.  This study uses the Constructive Critical History Method.  This historical science is a… a new historical science that focuses on problem solving and finding solutions to problems  so that humans as historical actors can enjoy a better life in the present and in the  future. This research  finds that the “Pattern of Islamization of Trade and Civilizational Dialogue”  is the “Early Pattern of Islamization in Southeast Asia.”  This pattern  took place from the end of the 7th century to the beginning of the 16th century.  The agents of Islamization were Islamic traders or Islamic scholars who worked as traders. The weakness of this pattern is that it takes a long time. To achieve good results, this pattern requires the willingness and awareness of both the agents of Islamization and the indigenous population in undergoing the process of Islamization. This pattern does not have a negative impact on innocent Muslims and non-Muslims or those who live elsewhere. This pattern is carried out in a healthy and friendly manner that does not trigger cases of Islamophobia. Conclusion. This research contributes to overcoming the global impasse in addressing the crises, conflicts, wars, and disasters that emerged after COVID-19.

ANALYSIS OF RISK FACTORS FOR HYPERTENSION IN BONTO TALLASA VILLAGE, ULUERE DISTRICT, BANTAENG REGENCY

Herdina, Azis, Rahmawati, Amiruddin, Fitriyah
Abstract: This study aimed to identify risk factors associated with hypertension in Bonto Tallasa Village, Uluere Subdistrict, Bantaeng Regency, in 2025. The research examined three factors: family history, excessive sodium intake,… , and stress. A quantitative case–control design was applied to 60 respondents (30 cases and 30 controls) selected through purposive sampling. The results showed that individuals with a family history of hypertension were about 26 times more likely to develop hypertension than those without such a history, indicating a strong and significant association. Excessive sodium intake increased the risk approximately 3.5 times and was statistically significant. Stress was associated with nearly double the risk, but this association was not statistically significant, possibly due to individual differences in coping mechanisms and measurement limitations of subjective stress levels. This suggests that stress may influence hypertension indirectly through behavioral or physiological pathways. In conclusion, family history and excessive sodium intake are significant predictors of hypertension, while stress contributes to an elevated yet statistically nonsignificant risk. Preventive strategies should emphasize sodium reduction, regular blood pressure monitoring, and effective stress management in daily life.

CORRELATION BETWEEN HEMOGLOBIN A1c (HbA1c) LEVELS AND MICROALBUMINURIA IN DIABETES MELLITUS PATIENTS AT PRODIA SUNTER

Putri, Maylina, Putra, I Gusti Putu Agus Ferry Sutrisna, Prihatiningsih, Diah
Abstract: Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is a disease caused by pancreatic failure in performing its function of producing insulin. A lack of insulin will lead to an increase in blood glucose levels, also known as hyperglycemia. Hemoglobin… n A1c and microalbuminuria are screening examinations used to detect the early onset of diabetic nephropathy. Diabetic nephropathy is defined as a clinical syndrome in diabetes mellitus patients characterized by persistent albuminuria, an irreversible decrease in glomerular filtration rate, and increased arterial blood pressure. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between Hemoglobin A1c and microalbuminuria in diabetes mellitus patients at Prodia Sunter. The research method used is quantitative analytic with a cross-sectional approach. The data collected were secondary data from the period of January–July 2024 with a total of 60 samples. Sampling was conducted using purposive sampling and met the inclusion criteria, namely patients over 60 years of age, Hemoglobin A1c value ≥7, diagnosed with diabetes mellitus, no history of thalassemia, and who had undergone Hemoglobin A1c and microalbuminuria examinations. The results of this study show a significant unidirectional positive relationship with a very strong correlation between Hemoglobin A1c levels and microalbuminuria in diabetes mellitus patients, with sig (2-tailed) = 0.000 and correlation coefficient value = 0.892. The relationship between Hemoglobin A1c levels and microalbuminuria is unidirectional positive, meaning that the higher the Hemoglobin A1c levels, the higher the microalbuminuria levels.
