This research finds that the “Pattern of Islamization of Trade and Civilizational Dialogue” is the “Early Pattern of Islamization in Southeast Asia.” This pattern took place from the end of the 7th century to the beginning of the 16th century. The agents of Islamization were Islamic traders or Islamic scholars who worked as traders. The weakness of this pattern is that it takes a long time. To achieve good results, this pattern requires the willingness and awareness of both the agents of Islamization and the indigenous population in undergoing the process of Islamization. Bakence, Lutfi, Sultan, Lomba, DL, Rahmatiah, Ridwan, Saleh
Abstract: Marriage involving pregnant women outside wedlock remains a critical socio-cultural and legal phenomenon in Indonesia, particularly in North Halmahera where family honor, religious authority, and customary law strongly influence… nfluence communal life. This study aimed to explore how such marriages are understood, legitimized, and practiced by families, community leaders, and legal institutions. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with religious leaders, adat leaders, government officials, parents, and young women, complemented by participant observation and document analysis, and analyzed with an interactive model of reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that marriage is primarily arranged to safeguard family honor, with communities regarding it as the only socially acceptable corrective measure, while religious leaders across traditions adopt pragmatic interpretations, invoking public interest or redemption to justify the practice, and customary rituals together with state dispensations further reinforce its legitimacy. Although marriage resolves immediate stigma and reintegrates families socially, it simultaneously generates long-term vulnerabilities, including interrupted education, economic dependence, marital instability, psychological stress, and increased maternal and neonatal health risks. This study contributes to the sociology of law and religion by demonstrating how socio-cultural confinement, Islamic legal pluralism, and adat practices converge in eastern Indonesia, while underscoring the urgent need for holistic interventions that integrate sexuality education, family communication, religious engagement, and legal reform to protect women and children more effectively.

Sofwatillah, Sofwatillah, Anwar, Kasful, MY, Mahmud, Asrulla
Abstract: Education is a fundamental pillar in shaping a superior and character-driven generation, with boarding schools providing a unique 24-hour integrated learning and living environment that acts in loco parentis. This study… examines the implementation of service quality in Islamic boarding schools in the Riau Islands Province and its influence on academic achievement, focusing on SMPIT Assakinah Tanjung Pinang, SMPS Al-Himmah Karimun, and SMP BP Tahfidz Attaubah Batam. Service quality in this context is defined as a student-centered paradigm that integrates academic, pastoral, and social dimensions. Drawing on perspectives from Crosby, Sallis, and Brewster, quality is measured by responsiveness to needs, continuous improvement, and the integration of academic rigor, pastoral care, and co-curricular enrichment. Academic achievement, as described by Bloom, is shaped by cognitive, affective, and environmental factors, where the structured environment of boarding schools can maximize outcomes. This research employed a qualitative case study approach with data gathered through observation, interviews, and documentation, analyzed using an interactive model. Findings reveal that service quality is implemented through four stages: (1) conceptualization with a vision integrating national and diniyah curricula; (2) implementation involving active learning, dormitory services, extracurricular programs, and Islamic character building; (3) improvement via SWOT-based evaluation, facility upgrades, teacher development, and digitalization; and (4) continuous evaluation for relevance and effectiveness. The study concludes that comprehensive, integrated service quality is a decisive factor for success in boarding schools. Effective service quality fosters both academic achievement and the development of religious, independent, and morally sound students. By applying Total Quality Management principles, Islamic boarding schools can establish an optimal educational ecosystem, producing a superior and globally competitive generation rooted in Islamic values.

The findings of the study show that the Qur'an, through verses that emphasize the unity of humanity and respect for diversity, provides a strong foundation for the implementation of diversity values. The discussion also explained the social implications of the application of the principle of diversity according to the Qur'an, including in the context of politics, education, and intercultural relations in pluralistic societies. By integrating critical analysis of sacred texts with empirical data and theoretical studies, this article is expected to make a significant contribution to the research treasure trove of Islamic studies and pluralism. This research emphasizes that the role of the Qur'an in upholding the value of diversity is multi-perspective; It not only provides spiritual guidance, but also offers an ethical framework that can foster the construction of an inclusive, just, and harmonious modern society. The purpose of this research is to elaborate on the role of the Qur'an as a source of values of diversity and pluralism, by tracing relevant verses and relating them to the social reality on the ground. Thus, this research not only aims to provide textual analysis, but also examines the practical application of the teachings of the Qur'an in promoting peace and social justice in the era of globalization. THE QUR'AN AND SOCIAL SOLIDARITY: ANALYSIS OF CONTEMPORARY APPLICATIONS IN INDONESIAN URBAN SOCIETY

Ariyadi, Samsul
Abstract: This study examines the concept of social solidarity and religious values, especially those contained in the Qur'an. Social solidarity has long been the focus of discussion in various disciplines, ranging from sociology,… political science, to Islamic studies. In the midst of the increasingly complex dynamics of urbanization in Indonesia, the question of how religious values, especially those contained in the Qur'an, can encourage collective action based on social justice is very relevant. By examining in depth the relationship between the teachings of the Qur'an and social solidarity, this article contributes to the development of social theory and practice in urban Indonesian society. It is hoped that the findings and recommendations presented can be a reference for academics, researchers, and policymakers in formulating strategies for integrating Islamic values into contemporary social dynamics, so that in the end it can produce a more just, inclusive, and dignified society. The results of the study show that there is a strong integration between the theological message in the Qur'an and the dynamics of social interaction, as well as its implications in the formation of pro-people public policy. Thus, the conceptual framework proposed in this study not only makes a theoretical contribution to the development of Islamic studies and sociology, but also offers practical recommendations that are applicable to the strengthening of social solidarity in the modern era. This study suggests that further studies can explore more empirical aspects, involving field data and participatory analysis, to ensure that the values of the Qur'an are truly integrated into social life and public policy as a whole. This research invites further dialogue between stakeholders in an effort to realize solid social solidarity, as a tangible manifestation of the application of the principles of goodness and justice enshrined in the Qur'an.
