Tiara Amelia, Bustami, Oktizulvia, Conny
Abstract: Abstract Patient safety incidents remain a critical healthcare problem in Indonesia, particularly within hospital settings. Patient safety goals are an essential priority for healthcare providers, especially nurses, who… ses, who serve as the frontline workforce delivering continuous care. Optimal implementation of patient safety goals requires adequate knowledge, supportive attitudes, and strong professional performance from nurses. Effective adherence to these goals plays a key role in preventing adverse events that may harm or endanger patients. This study aimed to examine the relationship between nurses’ knowledge and attitudes with the implementation of Patient Safety Goals in a private hospital in West Sumatra, Indonesia. A descriptive quantitative method with a cross-sectional design was used. A total of 35 nurses were selected through total sampling. Data were collected using validated questionnaires (KPSQ, APSQ, IPSG I–VI). Statistical analysis employed the Chi-Square test with a significance level of p < 0.05. Results showed that more than half of the nurses demonstrated good knowledge (51.4%), positive attitudes (57.1%), and good implementation of patient safety goals (54.3%). Chi-Square analysis revealed significant associations between knowledge and patient safety goal implementation (p=0.044<0.05), as well as between attitudes and patient safety goal implementation (p=0.012). The study concludes that nurses’ knowledge and attitudes are significantly related to the implementation of patient safety goals. Continuous training and regular dissemination regarding patient safety standards are recommended to strengthen nurses’ adherence to SOPs and to enhance the overall patient safety culture within the hospital. Keywords : Knowledge; Attitudes; Patient Safety Goals; Nurses; Hospital

Lubis, Iin Almeina, Parini, Parini, Nata, Andri, Siagian, Nurul Masytha
Abstract: Public speaking is the activity of speaking in front of an audience with the aim of delivering information, providing explanations, entertaining, or influencing the listeners. It also involves conveying messages verbally… in front of an audience, whether in the form of speeches, presentations, lectures, or discussions. Public speaking is a crucial skill in various aspects of life, ranging from education to the professional world. This ability not only helps in academic presentations but also impacts how a person communicates and influences others. At the high school level and equivalent, students begin preparing for the next stage in their education or entering the workforce. Many challenges arise for students when speaking in front of an audience in a formal setting and explaining their presentations. Students face difficulties due to a lack of self-confidence, nervousness, panic, and a lack of mastery over the material they will present. In addition to a lack of self-confidence, other challenges include limited vocabulary, low communication skills, fear of judgment from others, and insufficient preparation. Basic public speaking training at Al Ma'shum High School in Kisaran would be highly beneficial for students to boost their self-confidence, enhance their communication skills, sharpen their critical and logical thinking abilities, and equip them for entering the workforce. The basic public speaking training will involve methods such as self-introduction exercises, role-playing, speech structure practice, impromptu speaking, expression training, intonation and articulation exercises, as well as feedback and evaluation.

Pengaruh Kepemimpinan Kepala Sekolah dan Beban Kerja Guru terhadap Kinerja Guru di SMKN 1 Puloampel

Ramdan, Sakti Andayani, Fuad Abdul Baqi, Andriani Sariwardani
Abstract: Vocational education requires teachers with optimal performance in order to produce graduates who are competent and prepared to face the demands of the workforce. Teacher performance is influenced by various factors, including… luding principal leadership and teacher workload, both of which are directly related to the implementation of instructional duties and school administration. This study focuses on the influence of principal leadership on teacher performance, the influence of teacher workload on teacher performance, and the simultaneous influence of both variables on teacher performance at SMKN 1 Puloampel. The study employed a quantitative method with a descriptive survey approach involving 55 teachers selected through a total sampling technique. Data were collected through observation and questionnaire distribution using a Likert scale and were subsequently analyzed using the t-test and F-test with the assistance of IBM SPSS Statistics 24.0. The findings revealed that principal leadership did not have a positive and significant effect on teacher performance, whereas teacher workload had a positive and significant effect on teacher performance. Simultaneous testing further indicated that principal leadership and teacher workload collectively did not exert a significant effect on teacher performance. These findings demonstrate that teacher performance is more strongly influenced by internal factors such as professional competence, work motivation, teaching experience, and task management abilities. The novelty of this study lies in the finding that a proportionally organized teacher workload is capable of enhancing teachers’ discipline, responsibility, and work effectiveness, while principal leadership has not yet demonstrated a significant influence on teacher performance within the vocational school environment. This study contributes to the development of vocational education management through the strengthening of teacher professionalism and balanced workload management.
