ETNOGRAFI WAKTU PERKOTAAN UNTUK MEMBACA PERLAWANAN RITMIK KOMUNITAS MARJINAL DALAM RUANG KOTA MAKASSAR

Djufri, Djufri
Abstract: This study explores how marginalized communities in Makassar construct and sustain their life rhythms amidst the temporal pressures shaped by infrastructure systems, mobility regimes, and urban development logics. Employing… ing a space- and time-based urban ethnographic approach, the research traces residents’ daily tactics, rhythmic narratives, and spatial practices in navigating mobility exclusion and the accelerating, non-inclusive urban pace. Field findings reveal that residents engage in various forms of micro-resistance—such as adjusting selling hours, utilizing interstitial moments in urban space, and cultivating social rhythms that diverge from technocratic logics. Within temporalities not governed by state or capital, urban spaces are collectively reproduced from below, positioning spatial production as a bottom-up process rather than a top-down imposition. The study contributes theoretically by advancing Lefebvre’s rhythmanalysis, Urry’s notion of differential mobility, and Gandy’s political ecology of infrastructure within the context of Global South cities. By foregrounding time as a critical analytical lens, the research expands our understanding of how power operates temporally in urban life, and how residents negotiate this power through their everyday rhythms. Ultimately, this research offers a new perspective for interpreting urban dynamics—not only through spatiality but also through socially produced temporalities.

NEGOTIATING REPRODUCTIVE AGENCY: SOCIAL REGULATION AND EMBODIED KNOWLEDGE IN BUGIS-MAKASSAR WOMEN’S RESPONSES TO PREGNANCY RISK

Cindy Israeni Ansar
Abstract: This study explores how Bugis-Makassar women construct and navigate plural reproductive knowledge in response to abortus imminens (threatened miscarriage), drawing on Talcott Parsons’ AGIL framework to analyze the sociocultural… ocultural functions of care practices. Based on ethnographic fieldwork in Makassar, Indonesia, including interviews and participant observation with ten pregnant women, the study reveals that reproductive behavior is shaped by adaptive strategies (A), collective goals (G), moral integration (I), and intergenerational transmission of norms (L). Rather than following a singular medical logic, women mobilize syncretic forms of care that blend biomedical treatment, spiritual rituals, and ancestral taboos. These plural responses reflect not only epistemic hybridity but also reproductive governance enacted through kinship, religious authority, and clinical institutions. Women's agency is expressed not through open resistance, but through strategic moral navigation and embodied alignment with normative expectations—a form of what Mahmood terms the ethics of self-formation. The findings challenge biomedical-centric approaches to maternal health and highlight the need for culturally responsive interventions that respect local logics of risk, protection, and care. This study contributes to sociological debates on medical pluralism, moral regulation, and the reproduction of gendered knowledge in the Global South.

One of the most disruptive technological innovations that has become the primary focus in educational transformation is Artificial Intelligence (AI), which has demonstrated extraordinary potential in revolutionizing various aspects of learning management through sophisticated adaptive capabilities, deep learning personalization, and comprehensive administrative automation. This research aims to comprehensively and systematically examine the multidimensional role of AI in enhancing the quality of learning management in the digital era, with in-depth analytical focus on three fundamental pillars: strategic learning planning, pedagogical process implementation, and learning outcome evaluation. The research methodology employs a rigorous Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach, analyzing over 150 high-quality scientific articles from leading national and international journals published between 2014-2024, utilizing a thematic synthesis framework to identify emergent patterns and significant trends in AI implementation in education. Research findings reveal that AI implementation in learning management produces multifaceted transformative impacts, including significant improvements in pedagogical decision-making quality through predictive analytics and data-driven insights, strengthening the strategic role of teachers as adaptive and responsive learning facilitators, and expanding democratic learning accessibility through adaptive learning systems and intelligent tutoring systems technologies. AI has also proven effective in optimizing educational resource allocation, enhancing student engagement through intelligent gamification, and facilitating inclusive and equitable learning. However, this research also identifies complex challenges that must be addressed in AI implementation, including significant technological infrastructure gaps particularly in remote areas, limitations in educators' digital literacy affecting technology adoption, and ethics and data privacy issues requiring comprehensive regulatory frameworks. The implications of this research emphasize the need for a holistic and structured approach in integrating AI into educational systems, considering technological, pedagogical, and socio-cultural aspects in a balanced manner to achieve sustainable and positively impactful educational transformation.

The implications of this research are important in the development of inclusive public policy and religious practices, and are expected to serve as a basis for further research and decision-making in the fields of religious moderation and socio-religious studies.

PERBAIKAN MUTU BERKELANJUTAN (CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT) DAN STANDAR MUTU (QUALITY STANDART) DALAM PENDIDIKAN AGAMA ISLAM

Puspita, Kurnia Tri, Muallimin, Khoirul Anwar
Abstract: Islamic Religious Education (PAI) faces complex challenges in maintaining relevance and quality amidst social change, technology, and demands for public accountability. Two main concepts in educational quality management—continuous… —continuous improvement and quality assurance—are often discussed separately, despite their fundamentally synergistic relationship. This study aims to conceptually examine the integration of continuous improvement and quality assurance in the context of PAI, addressing how both frameworks can be operationalized simultaneously to improve the quality of PAI delivery. Using a systematic literature review method through Google Scholar and Publish or Perish (PoP) for the 2019–2026 period, 25 relevant articles were analyzed from 80 initial findings. The results show that quality assurance functions as a holding system that establishes standards, while continuous improvement acts as a driving force encouraging innovation and adaptation. However, in PAI practice, tension exists between standard compliance (QA) and the need for dynamic change (CI). This article offers an integrative framework called the Adaptive Quality Cycle (AQC), combining the Plan-Do-Check-Act cycle with Islamic principles such as muhasabah (self-evaluation), tahsin (continuous improvement), and itqan (professionalism). This integration is key for PAI institutions to not only meet minimum standards but also continuously develop dynamically without losing their Islamic identity.
