DETERMINATION OF LIFE INSURANCE PREMIUM AMOUNT BY COMBINING THE TRUE FRACTIONAL PREMIUM AND APPORTIONABLE FRACTIONAL PREMIUM METHODS

Abstract: Fractional premium schemes in life insurance generally follow two main approaches: True Fractional Premiums, which are easy to implement but less fair to policyholders who die mid-period, and Apportionable Fractional Premiums,… miums, which are more actuarially fair but administratively more complex. This study designs a Hybrid Fractional Premiums model that combines both approaches through a weighted linear combination using parameter , based on the 2023 Indonesian Mortality Table (TMPI), a 5% interest rate, a 10-year coverage period, and monthly premium payments. This descriptive quantitative study applies actuarial mathematics, covering the present value of insurance benefits, true fractional, apportionable fractional, and hybrid annuity factors, up to premium determination using the equivalence principle. The results show that the hybrid premium consistently lies between the true fractional and apportionable premiums, increases sharply with the insured's age, and is higher for males than females due to differences in mortality rates. Changes in the value of  have a linear effect on the premium, although the impact is relatively small (a difference of less than IDR 200 per month). The hybrid model with  is recommended as the optimal balance between actuarial fairness and ease of implementation, offering a more flexible alternative for premium determination in Indonesia's life insurance industry.

Pelatihan Literasi Sains Digital Berbasis Stem Untuk Meningkatkan Kreativitas Dan Critical Thinking Siswa Di Sekolah

Abstract: Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan literasi sains digital, kreativitas, dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa melalui pelatihan berbasis Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM)… ) di MA Pergis Ganra. Program dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya pemanfaatan teknologi digital sebagai media pembelajaran sains serta masih dominannya metode pembelajaran konvensional. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi tahap sosialisasi, pelatihan, penerapan teknologi, pendampingan dan evaluasi, serta keberlanjutan program. Pelatihan melibatkan 80 siswa dengan pendekatan pembelajaran aktif melalui ceramah, diskusi, praktik, dan pemecahan masalah kontekstual. Luaran yang diharapkan adalah meningkatnya kemampuan literasi sains digital, kreativitas, kemampuan berpikir kritis, serta pemanfaatan teknologi digital secara produktif dalam pembelajaran sains. Program ini juga mendukung implementasi MBKM dan penguatan kompetensi abad ke-21.

SINERGI BUDAYA HUMANIS DAN PENDIDIKAN AKHLAK DALAM PEMBELAJARAN MATEMATIKA KELAS VI SD TZU CHI JAKARTA UTARA

Abstract: Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis bentuk sinergi budaya humanis Tzu Chi dan pendidikan akhlak dalam pembelajaran matematika, mengidentifikasi strategi guru dalam mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai humanis dan akhlak melalui… i pendekatan Realistic Mathematics Education (RME), serta mendeskripsikan tantangan implementasi beserta strategi penyelesaiannya pada konteks sekolah dasar multikultural. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan paradigma interpretatif yang dilaksanakan di SD Tzu Chi Jakarta Utara. Informan penelitian terdiri atas guru matematika kelas VI, Kepala Departemen Matematika, dan peserta didik kelas VI yang dipilih secara purposif. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi partisipatif, wawancara mendalam, dan studi dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan model interaktif Miles, Huberman, dan Saldaña melalui kondensasi data, penyajian data, serta penarikan kesimpulan yang divalidasi dengan triangulasi sumber, triangulasi metode, dan member checking. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sinergi budaya humanis dan pendidikan akhlak terwujud melalui konvergensi nilai Gan En dengan syukur, Zun Zhong dengan tasamuh, serta Ai Xin dengan mahabbah yang diimplementasikan secara inklusif dalam pembelajaran matematika berbasis RME. Strategi guru meliputi penyajian masalah kontekstual, proses matematisasi bertahap, diskusi kolaboratif, dan refleksi nilai sehingga pembelajaran tidak hanya meningkatkan pemahaman matematis, tetapi juga membentuk karakter humanis dan tanggung jawab sosial peserta didik. Tantangan implementasi meliputi keterbatasan waktu pembelajaran dan kompleksitas materi matematika, yang diatasi melalui perencanaan pembelajaran kolaboratif dan pengembangan activity sheet berbasis konteks nyata. Penelitian ini berkontribusi pada pengembangan model integrasi budaya humanis, pendidikan akhlak, dan pembelajaran matematika berbasis RME pada sekolah dasar multikultural.

Pengaruh Pemanfaatan AI Sebagai Tutor Virtual Terhadap Self-Efficacy Mahasiswa Pada Mata Kuliah Analisis Real

Abstract: Perkembangan pesat teknologi Artificial Intelligence (AI) telah mengubah lanskap pendidikan tinggi secara signifikan, terutama dengan hadirnya tutor virtual berbasis AI yang mampu memberikan umpan balik cepat, tepat, dan&#8230; personal. Analisis Real merupakan salah satu mata kuliah yang paling menantang dalam program pendidikan matematika karena sifat abstraknya sering menyebabkan rendahnya self-efficacy mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh pemanfaatan AI sebagai tutor virtual terhadap self-efficacy mahasiswa Pendidikan Matematika Universitas Asahan yang menempuh mata kuliah Analisis Real. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest, melibatkan 15 mahasiswa yang dipilih melalui purposive sampling. Instrumen angket self-efficacy dikembangkan berdasarkan tiga dimensi Bandura (magnitude, strength, generality), divalidasi melalui expert judgment dengan Cronbach’s Alpha sebesar 0,84. Hasil analisis deskriptif menunjukkan peningkatan rata-rata skor self-efficacy dari 65,67 (pre-test, kategori sedang) menjadi 79,93 (post-test, kategori tinggi), dengan peningkatan sebesar 21,7%. Uji Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test menghasilkan nilai Z = −3,408 dengan p-value = 0,001 (p < 0,05), yang mengkonfirmasi terdapat perbedaan signifikan self-efficacy mahasiswa sebelum dan sesudah intervensi enam minggu menggunakan AI tutor virtual. The rapid development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology has significantly transformed higher education, particularly through AI-based virtual tutors capable of providing fast, precise, and personalized feedback. Real Analysis, one of the most challenging mathematics education courses, frequently causes low self-efficacy among students due to its abstract nature and demands for formal proof-writing. This study examines the effect of utilizing AI as a virtual tutor on self-efficacy of mathematics education students at Universitas Asahan. A quantitative quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design was employed with 15 students selected via purposive sampling. The self-efficacy questionnaire was based on Bandura’s three dimensions: magnitude, strength, and generality, validated by expert judgment with Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient of 0.84. Descriptive analysis results showed an increase in mean self-efficacy scores from 65.67 (pre-test, moderate category) to 79.93 (post-test, high category), representing a 21.7% improvement. The Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test yielded Z = −3.408 with p-value = 0.001 (p < 0.05), confirming a significant difference in student self-efficacy before and after the six-week AI virtual tutor intervention.

APPLICATION OF THINK PAIR SHARE (TPS) LEARNING MODEL TO IMPROVE STUDENTS' LEARNING INTEREST IN MATHEMATICS SUBJECTS IN GRADE V AT SDN 001/IX SENGETI

Abstract: The background of the research is that students tend to be passive and afraid, and boring so that there is a lack of interest in learning students. The study aims to apply the Think Pair Share (TPS) model to improve students'&#8230; ents' interest in learning Mathematics in class V of Elementary School 001/IX Sengeti. The type of research is Classroom Action Research. The Action Model consists of 4 stages, namely planning, action, observation and reflection. The study was conducted in 2 cycles, cycle I as many as 2 meetings and cycle II was conducted in 2 meetings. Data collection in the form of teacher and student observation sheets and questionnaires. The results of the analysis of teacher observations in cycle I obtained a score of 72.05% and cycle II 90.43% in the very high category. While the results of the analysis of student observations in cycle I obtained a score of 72.5% and cycle II 90% in the very high category. Then the results of the analysis of student questionnaires obtained a score of 90% in the very high category. It can be concluded that the application of the Think Pair Share learning model can improve students' interest in learning

PERSPECTIVE OF DIRECT LEARNING MODEL

Abstract: Efforts to improve the quality of human resources are carried out through learning activities. The learning that is expected is learning that can explore self-potential so that quality improvement can be realized. In learning&#8230; rning there are learning models and methods. In this study, the learning carried out applies the direct learning model and the Kumon method. This descriptive study aims to describe the management of learning carried out by teachers in implementing direct learning models with the Kumon method, student activities during the learning process, student learning outcomes after the learning is implemented and student responses to learning and carried out at SMAN-1 Krian with the subjects of the study being students of class XI IPA 6 and mathematics teachers of class XI IPA 6. The results of the study are that the management of learning carried out by teachers is included in the good criteria, namely with a score of 3.03, student activities that are desired during the learning process other than irrelevant activities appear with a percentage of 90.09% with the dominant activity being listening / paying attention to the teacher's explanation, student learning outcomes in this study are out of 34 students, 31 students completed and 3 students did not complete. Classically, students completed with a percentage of 91.18%, the students' response to this learning was positive, namely out of 34 students, 75% expressed a positive response to the learning.

SELF DIRECTED LEARNING MODEL APPROACH

Abstract: This research is a quasi-experimental study conducted to improve students' mathematical problem-solving abilities, one of which is through the use of the Self-Directed Learning (SDL) instructional model. The objectives of&#8230; f this study are to determine (a) the learning process using the Self-Directed Learning model; (b) the difference in improvement of students' mathematical problem-solving abilities between those using the Self-Directed Learning model and those receiving conventional (expository) instruction; and (c) students' attitudes toward mathematics learning using the Self-Directed Learning model. Data were collected using research instruments including tests in the form of mathematical problem-solving ability questions and non-tests such as student response questionnaires toward learning using the Self-Directed Learning model. This study was conducted at MAN 1 Gorontalo, with class X IPA-1 as the experimental class and class X IPA-2 as the control class, focusing on vector material. Based on the research results and n-gain data analysis, it was found that: (a) the description of the teacher and student learning process on quadrilateral vector material using the Self-Directed Learning model falls into the good category; (b) the improvement in mathematical problem-solving ability of students who received learning with the Self-Directed Learning model showed a moderate increase. Meanwhile, the improvement in mathematical problem-solving ability of students who received conventional learning showed a low increase. Therefore, there is a difference in the improvement of mathematical problem-solving ability between students using the Self-Directed Learning model and those using conventional learning; (c) most students who received learning using the Self-Directed Learning model responded positively to mathematics learning using this model.

MATHEMATICS LEARNING STRATEGIES FOR DEAF CHILDREN IN UNDERSTANDING STORY PROBLEMS

Abstract: Mathematics learning plays an important role in developing logical thinking and problem-solving skills. However, for deaf students, understanding mathematical word problems remains a fairly complex challenge, mainly due&#8230; to limitations in language and communication aspects. This study aims to examine the characteristics of the difficulties experienced by deaf students, analyze the implementation of the learning strategies used, and investigate their effectiveness in improving understanding of mathematical word problems. This research employs a qualitative approach using a literature study method. The findings indicate that the main difficulties lie in understanding the language used in the problems, identifying important information, and transforming it into mathematical models. Effective learning strategies tend to be visual, contextual, and communicative, supported by the use of interactive media. Nevertheless, the use of media alone is not sufficient without well-structured instructional strategies. These findings emphasize that the integration of adaptive learning strategies plays a more significant role in improving deaf students’ understanding of mathematical word problems.

DEVELOPMENT OF ANDROID-BASED MATHEMATICS LEARNING MEDIA TO IMPROVE CRITICAL THINKING SKILLS OF HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS IN WEST SULAWESI

Abstract: This study aims to develop an Android-based mathematics learning media using Smart Apps Creator (SAC) and determine its validity, practicality, and effectiveness in improving critical thinking skills of high school students&#8230; nts in West Sulawesi. This research is a research and development (R&D) with a modified Borg and Gall model and is limited to the product revision stage after the trial. The resulting product is an Android-based Mathematics E-Module that contains interactive materials, learning videos, problem-solving-based practice questions, learning games, and evaluations. The data collection technique used expert validation questionnaires, teacher and student response questionnaires, and critical thinking ability tests. Data were analyzed using a Likert scale, validation tests, practicality tests, and effectiveness tests through a comparison of pretest and posttest results and N-Gain calculations. The results showed that the developed learning media was in the very feasible category based on the assessment of material experts and media experts with a feasibility percentage above 85%. The practicality test showed that teacher and student responses were in the practical to very practical category. The effectiveness test showed an increase in students' critical thinking abilities in the moderate to high category, and there was a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores. Thus, Android-based mathematics learning media using Smart Apps Creator is effective for improving the critical thinking abilities of high school students in West Sulawesi.

EVALUATION OF STUDENTS CONCEPTUAL UNDERSTANDING IN THE COURSE MULTIPLE VARIABLE CALCULUS

Abstract: Calculus of Multiple Variables is a core course in the Mathematics Education study program and plays a crucial role in developing students advanced mathematical thinking skills. Success in this course relies heavily on mastery&#8230; astery of the prerequisite material, particularly the concepts of derivatives and integrals of functions of one variable. Therefore, understanding mathematical concepts is a fundamental aspect that determines students’ ability to understand the interrelationships between topics and solve problems systematically and logically. This study aims to describe students' conceptual understanding of multivariable calculus. The approach used is a descriptive approach with a purposive sampling technique, namely selecting research subjects based on certain criteria in the form of the highest and lowest levels of mathematical concept understanding. The results of the study indicate that students conceptual understanding varies across different materials. In the partial derivative material, students were not yet fully able to accurately represent the solution concept, especially in applying the rules for derivatives of exponential functions, so the results obtained did not conform to mathematical principles. These errors are conceptual in nature and indicate a weak grasp of certain basic concepts. However, in the material on derivatives of products of two functions and triple integrals, students demonstrated goog conceptual understanding. They were able to select, use, and apply solution procedures appropriately and systematically. This finding indicates that despite weaknesses in certain concepts, students still possess quite good procedural and conceptual abilities in the context of other problems in polynomial calculus.
