This article examines the role of social media in increasing sales of chili chips in… n Sibuhuan Market, North Sumatra. Pengaruh Konten Media Sosial terhadap Perilaku Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) untuk meningkatkan Konsumerisme pada Generasi Z

Zaki Rahman Putra, Nur Hayati
Abstract: This research discusses the influence of social media content on the emergence of Fear of Missing Out (FOMO) behavior and its connection to increasing consumerism in Generation Z. This generation grew up in a digital ecosystem… system saturated with visualizations of ideal lifestyles disseminated through platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and Twitter. Constant exposure to such content creates anxiety about missing out on seemingly important social experiences. FOMO then triggers consumptive actions, not due to functional needs, but because of symbolic impulses and social pressure to remain relevant within digital communities. This study employs a descriptive qualitative method with in-depth interviews of informants aged 20–26 years. The analysis results show that content such as unboxing, product reviews, and personal lifestyles have a significant impact on creating social pressure and shaping consumption-based identity. These findings underscore the importance of digital literacy and critical awareness so that Generation Z does not get trapped in a cycle of impulsive consumption, which poses risks to both mental and financial health. As an alternative, the Joy of Missing Out (JOMO) approach is introduced to build healthier and more authentic digital relationships.

Pengaruh Populisme Selebritis Dalam Pencalonan Legislatif di Indonesia

Fransin Kontu, Stefanes Pesak
Abstract: This study examines the phenomenon of celebrity populism in the context of legislative candidacy in Indonesia, particularly during the 2024 General Election. Celebrity populism refers to a political strategy that relies… on public popularity, personal image, and emotional proximity to gain electoral support. A qualitative approach was used to explore voter preferences, campaign strategies, the role of social media, and the challenges faced by celebrities entering the political arena. Data were collected through literature review, media documentation, and content analysis of social media platforms. The findings reveal that voters tend to support celebrity candidates not based on their political vision or programs, but due to symbolic closeness and personal appeal developed through entertainment media. Social media serves as the primary tool to construct a populist, “people-oriented” image, although often lacking substantive political content. On the other hand, limited political capacity, public skepticism, and the challenge of adapting to party structures are major obstacles faced by celebrity candidates. These findings suggest that while celebrity populism may broaden political participation, it also risks diminishing the quality of political representation. Therefore, strengthening political literacy and party-based political development is essential to safeguard the quality of democracy amid growing trends of political personalization. Umiyati Haris, Syahrabudin Husein Enala, Syahruddin, Nurjalal
Abstract: This research examines the role of youth in supporting e-government in the era of digital-based government 5.0, highlighting how the younger generation can be the main agent in the digital transformation of government. In… n this context, youth not only act as users of technology, but also as developers of innovations that support the efficiency, transparency, and responsiveness of public services. Secondary data collected through document searches of literature, journal articles, government reports, and other official documents form the basis of this research analysis. The descriptive-analytical qualitative method is used to describe and criticise various aspects of the role of youth in e-government. Case studies such as "LAPOR!" and "Qlue," as well as hackathon initiatives, show how youth directly contribute to the development of digital solutions. In addition, their participation in e-participation platforms such as "Musrenbang Online" shows active engagement in technology-based decision-making processes. Youth also play a role in digital literacy campaigns, helping less tech-savvy communities to utilise e-government services. Involvement in advocacy and research further underlines the potential of youth as a source of innovative ideas and solutions. The results of this study confirm that the contribution of youth in supporting e-government is significant and covers various aspects, from technology development, participation in policy processes, to education and advocacy. Thus, youth are the main key in accelerating the digital transformation of government, ensuring that technology can be maximally utilised to improve the quality of public services and meet the needs of society in the digital era 5.0. Sekolah Minggu dan Era Teknologi: Strategi Menghadapi Peluang dan Tantangan Digitalisasi

Mersi Nantaria Telaumbanua, Nehemia Nome
Abstract: The development of digital technology has brought significant changes to Sunday School ministry and children’s faith education in the modern era. Children, as digital native generations, are increasingly connected to visual… isual media, audiovisual content, and internet use, causing conventional learning methods to become less engaging and less effective in fostering active learner participation. This study aims to analyze Sunday School strategies in addressing the opportunities and challenges of digitalization, the utilization of digital media for children’s spiritual growth, and the roles of teachers, churches, and families in developing relevant and transformative spiritual learning. The research employed a qualitative approach with a library research design enriched through phenomenological analysis of digitalization practices in Sunday School ministry. Data were obtained through a review of literature on Christian educational theology, child pedagogy, digital literacy, and reflective observation of the use of Bible animation videos, social media, and online learning platforms. The findings indicate that the digitalization of Sunday School ministry through Bible animation videos, YouTube, Zoom, Google Meet, and Christian learning applications enhances children’s interest, participation, and understanding of God’s Word through learning experiences that are more interactive, communicative, and contextual. The challenges of digitalization are reflected in gadget-related distractions, digital dependency, reduced learning concentration, and unequal access to technology among certain families. The study concludes that the success of digital Sunday School requires the integration of technology, teacher competence, parental guidance, digital literacy, and continuous spiritual formation. The novelty of this study lies in the development of a digital Sunday School ministry model that integrates technological media, pedagogical strategies, family supervision, and children’s spiritual formation in a holistic manner, thereby ensuring that church ministry remains adaptive, inclusive, and centered on children’s faith development in the digital era.
