IMPROVING CHILDREN'S SONG SINGING SKILLS THROUGH INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEOS IN GRADE II AT SDN 6 KABILA, BONE BOLANGO REGENCY

Abstract: This study aims to improve children's singing ability through the use of video-based learning in second-grade students at SDN 6 Kabila, Bone Bolango Regency. The research problem identified was the low singing ability of… students due to the lack of engaging learning media. Video-based learning was employed to help students understand pitch, rhythm, and lyrics, thereby enhancing their confidence, interest, and singing skills in music education. This study adopted a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design following the Kemmis and McTaggart spiral model, conducted in two cycles (Cycle I with two meetings and Cycle II with one meeting). The subjects were 21 second-grade students (9 males and 12 females). Data collection techniques included observation, tests (performance assessments), interviews, and documentation. Data were analyzed descriptively to determine improvements in students' singing ability across four indicators: pitch accuracy, rhythmic accuracy, lyric mastery, and expression with self-confidence. The results showed that students' initial singing ability was low, with only 28% achieving the minimum mastery criterion (KKM). After implementing video-based learning, students' mastery increased to 43% in Cycle I Meeting I, 62% in Cycle I Meeting II, and 90% in Cycle II Meeting I. Teacher activity improved from 60% (adequate) to 96% (excellent), and student activity increased from 59% (adequate) to 96% (excellent). These findings demonstrate that video-based learning effectively improves children's singing ability, confidence, and active participation in music education at the elementary school level.

Abstract: Research is the systematic and planned process of collecting, processing, and analyzing data in accordance with scientific principles to seek truth, solve problems, or discover new knowledge. Conducting research often serves… rves as a final project for undergraduate students to complete their studies; for Educational Technology undergraduates, in particular, development research is highly recommended. Development research—or Research and Development (R&D)—is a scientific method used to create new products or improve existing ones, as well as to test their effectiveness. These products may take the form of media, models, modules, or tools. Specifically for Educational Technology undergraduates, this type of research involves a scientific approach to designing, producing, and testing the feasibility of instructional products—such as interactive media, learning models, or digital modules—to address learning challenges. The primary objective of R&D for Educational Technology undergraduates is to produce instructional products that are valid, practical, and effective in solving learning problems and enhancing the quality of the learning process and performance. The benefits of such research include improved skills in creating instructional products, the ability to solve real-world learning problems, and the development of a professional portfolio.

THE EFFECT OF HEALTH EDUCATION USING THE DEMONSTRATION METHOD ON HANDWASHING WITH SOAP (HWS) SKILLS AMONG CHILDREN

Abstract: Handwashing with soap is one of the most effective public health measures for preventing gastrointestinal and respiratory infections among children. However, despite ongoing health education efforts, many children still&#8230; do not perform proper handwashing techniques. Interactive educational approaches, such as demonstration methods combined with songs, may enhance children's practical skills more effectively than conventional instruction. This study aimed to determine the effect of health education using a demonstration method on handwashing with soap skills among children in the BTN AL community, Entrop Subdistrict, South Jayapura District. A quantitative study with a one-group pretest-posttest pre-experimental design was conducted involving 20 child participants selected through total sampling. The intervention consisted of a live demonstration of the WHO six-step handwashing technique accompanied by a modified version of the children's song Naik Becak. Participants' handwashing skills were assessed before and after the intervention using the WHO Standard Hand Hygiene Observation Checklist. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. The findings demonstrated a significant improvement in children's handwashing skills following the intervention. Before receiving health education, most participants were unable to perform the recommended handwashing procedure correctly. After the intervention, 18 participants (90%) successfully demonstrated all six handwashing steps independently, while only two participants (10%) still required assistance. Statistical analysis showed a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores (p < 0.001). The study concludes that health education delivered through a demonstration method combined with a modified children's song effectively improves handwashing with soap skills among children. This approach may serve as an innovative and engaging strategy for promoting healthy hygiene behaviors in early childhood.

Implementation of Time-Driven Activity-Based Costing In an Education Service Company

Abstract: This paper uses Time-Driven Activity-Based Costing (TDABC) in identifying cost per student, program profitability, and breakeven point across programs and branches at PT Kreasi Edulab Indonesia as it seek to solve the cost&#8230; st allocation issues that arise due to the differences in instructional hours, staffing activity, and resource usage in providing educational services. The study will employ a quantitative methodology in which they will formulate TDABC-based cost modelling and simulating models to assign operational costs to the real instructional time and teaching capacity. Primary data were gathered by direct observation and internal cost structure mapping, whereas the secondary data were in the form of financial records, class schedules, and student enrollment reports. The analysis combines descriptive statistics, TDABC simulations, program profitability analysis, breakeven analysis, and sensitivity analysis to measure the cost per student, program level operating performance, minimum viable class sizes, and how the major financial drivers influence the operating profit. The findings indicate significant differences in cost per student and profitability of programs and size of a branch with some branches having lower levels of profitability below sustainable levels of breakeven despite the similar levels of revenues. The sensitivity analysis shows that average revenue per student is the most sensitive variable of operating profit, over and above the fluctuations in the enrolment volume and cost structure. Altogether, the results indicate that TDABC contributes to the increase of cost transparency and offers a solid foundation to the pricing, class consolidation, and operational decision-making.

Business Mentoring as Experiential Learning through the BRIDGE Model

Abstract: The persistent gap between theoretical instruction and real-world practice remains a critical challenge in business education, particularly in contexts involving Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Experiential&#8230; learning has been promoted as a pedagogical response to this challenge; however, many initiatives lack structured frameworks that integrate student learning with meaningful community engagement. This study examines the implementation of the BRIDGE model (Build, Reach, Discover, Grow, and Elevate) as a structured business mentoring approach grounded in experiential learning principles. Using a qualitative participatory action research design, the study involved 15 undergraduate business students and five MSMEs in Semarang City, Indonesia. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, reflective journals, and program documentation, and analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings indicate that the BRIDGE model facilitates deep experiential learning by enabling students to connect theoretical concepts with contextual business realities, while simultaneously generating instrumental and symbolic benefits for MSME partners. Despite limitations related to program duration, the model demonstrates strong potential as a feasible and transferable framework for experiential business education in emerging economy contexts.

Abstract: This study investigates the difficulties faced by fourth-grade students at SDN 060878 Krakatau Medan Timur in understanding English classroom instructions. The research identifies four main obstacles: limited vocabulary&#8230; mastery, low confidence and motivation, less varied teaching strategies, and minimal English exposure outside school. The study also highlights effective teacher efforts such as repeating instructions, providing bilingual explanations, using demonstrations, and implementing interactive activities. These findings are expected to guide teachers in creating more adaptive and supportive instructional practices in elementary English learning.

STUDENT DEVELOPMENT OF ELEMENTARY SCHOOL 060878 IN LEARNING ENGLISH

Abstract: This research examines the development of English language skills among students at Elementary School 060878, focusing on challenges, influencing factors, and effective teaching strategies. A mixed-method approach was employed,&#8230; ployed, combining quantitative data from student test scores and qualitative data from teacher interviews and classroom observations. The results indicate that students face difficulties in vocabulary mastery and speaking skills, influenced by limited exposure to English, traditional teaching methods, and psychological barriers. The study proposes interactive and student-centered strategies, such as project-based learning and digital media, to enhance engagement and outcomes. These findings provide insights for teachers and policymakers to improve English language instruction in elementary schools.

Abstract: This study aims to examine the academic resilience of Islamic boarding school students through a library research approach by reviewing national and international literature related to personal, social, spiritual, and pedagogical&#8230; dagogical factors that shape students’ academic endurance. Findings indicate that academic resilience among santri develops through the interaction of self-efficacy, intrinsic motivation, self-regulation skills, and social support from peers, teachers, and dormitory caregivers. The disciplined, communal, and religious environment of pesantren strengthens adaptive coping mechanisms, particularly in managing academic pressure, demanding study schedules, and religious obligations. International literature highlights that interpersonal support and religious culture enhance students’ psychological resilience and academic engagement. Moreover, spiritual routines such as prayer and scriptural study function as emotional regulation tools that promote mental stability. The review also reveals that pesantren’s intensive instructional methods foster long-term academic perseverance, although they may increase stress when not accompanied by adequate social support. Overall, this study underscores that academic resilience among santri is a product of the holistic ecology of Islamic boarding school education. Therefore, strengthening resilience requires integrated strategies that simultaneously develop psychological, social, and spiritual capacities.   Keywords : Academic Resilience, Islamic Boarding School,Students

SUCCESS OF IMPLEMENTING COOPERATIVE LEARNING MODELS IN SCHOOLS

Abstract: Cooperative learning is an instructional approach that emphasizes collaboration among students in small groups to achieve shared academic goals. This method not only enhances learning outcomes but also fosters social skills,&#8230; lls, individual responsibility, and mutual respect. This article explores the fundamental concepts of cooperative learning, its underlying principles, and several popular models such as Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD), Jigsaw, and Think-Pair-Share. The discussion also highlights the advantages and challenges of implementing this method in classroom settings. The findings indicate that cooperative learning increases student engagement, learning motivation, and conceptual understanding. Therefore, cooperative learning serves as an effective strategy for creating an active, participatory, and meaningful learning environment.

SELF DIRECTED LEARNING MODEL APPROACH

Abstract: This research is a quasi-experimental study conducted to improve students' mathematical problem-solving abilities, one of which is through the use of the Self-Directed Learning (SDL) instructional model. The objectives of&#8230; f this study are to determine (a) the learning process using the Self-Directed Learning model; (b) the difference in improvement of students' mathematical problem-solving abilities between those using the Self-Directed Learning model and those receiving conventional (expository) instruction; and (c) students' attitudes toward mathematics learning using the Self-Directed Learning model. Data were collected using research instruments including tests in the form of mathematical problem-solving ability questions and non-tests such as student response questionnaires toward learning using the Self-Directed Learning model. This study was conducted at MAN 1 Gorontalo, with class X IPA-1 as the experimental class and class X IPA-2 as the control class, focusing on vector material. Based on the research results and n-gain data analysis, it was found that: (a) the description of the teacher and student learning process on quadrilateral vector material using the Self-Directed Learning model falls into the good category; (b) the improvement in mathematical problem-solving ability of students who received learning with the Self-Directed Learning model showed a moderate increase. Meanwhile, the improvement in mathematical problem-solving ability of students who received conventional learning showed a low increase. Therefore, there is a difference in the improvement of mathematical problem-solving ability between students using the Self-Directed Learning model and those using conventional learning; (c) most students who received learning using the Self-Directed Learning model responded positively to mathematics learning using this model.
