ACCURACY OF TIMING IN TSH SAMPLE COLLECTION FOR CONGENITAL HYPOTHYROIDISM SCREENING AT PRIMA MEDIKA GENERAL HOSPITAL DENPASAR

Gusti Ayu Kristalia Mustika Dewi, Prasetya, Didik, Diah Prihatiningsih
Abstract: Congenital hypothyroidism (CH) is an endocrine disorder that can cause developmental delays if not detected and treated early. Congenital Hypothyroidism Screening (CHS) aims to detect abnormal levels of Thyroid Stimulating… ng Hormone (TSH) in newborns before clinical symptoms appear. The timing of blood sample collection is a critical factor because TSH levels physiologically surge within the first 24 hours of life. This study aims to determine the accuracy of TSH sampling time in CH screening at Prima Medika General Hospital, Denpasar. A descriptive analytical method was used with a total sampling technique involving 105 neonates who underwent CHS from October to December 2024. Secondary data were obtained from laboratory request forms and the Laboratory Information System (LIS). Results showed that 92.4% of samples were collected on the second day of life, which aligns with the ideal window of 48–72 hours, and only 1.9% of neonates had elevated TSH levels. The study concludes that most sample collections met the recommended timing, contributing to valid results and effective CHS implementation. Timely sampling plays a vital role in early CH detection and reflects the overall quality of neonatal laboratory services.

Ni Luh Hepy Karniawan, Moh.Fairuz Abadi, A.A.Ayu Eka Cahyani
Abstract: Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is an endemic disease in Indonesia caused by the dengue virus and transmitted through the bites of Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes. The risk of serious complications primarily… arises during the critical phase, typically between the 4th and 6th days of fever, during which plasma leakage may occur, leading to shock and severe bleeding. Hematocrit levels and platelet counts are important parameters in the diagnosis and monitoring of DHF patients. This study aimed to determine the differences in hematocrit levels and platelet counts during days 4 to 6 of fever in DHF patients at Prima Medika Hospital Denpasar, in February 2025. This research employed a descriptive quantitative design with purposive sampling, involving 35 patients who met the inclusion criteria. The results showed a decrease in hematocrit levels with averages of 42.8%, 42%, and 41.2%, and platelet counts with averages of 87 x 10³/µL, 59 x 10³/µL, and 47 x 10³/µL from day 4 to day 6 of fever. Data were analyzed using the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, the Friedman non-parametric test for hematocrit levels, and the Repeated Measures ANOVA parametric test for platelet counts. Statistical analysis showed a p-value of 0.002 for hematocrit levels and 0.000 for platelet counts. The conclusion of this study is that there are significant differences in hematocrit levels and platelet counts between days 4 to 6 of fever in DHF patients.

DESCRIPTION OF LOW DENSITY LIPOPROTEIN (LDL) LEVELS AND FASTING COMPLIANCE IN OUTPATIENT CARDIAC PATIENTS AT RSU PRIMA MEDIKA DENPASAR IN THE MONTHS OF FEBRUARY TO MARCH 2025

Ni Putu Martiana Prawita Sari, Nyoman Sudarma, Prasetya, Didik
Abstract: Cardiovascular disease remains a leading cause of death both globally and nationally, with Low Density Lipoprotein(LDL) levels serving as a key biochemical indicator in the screening and management of heart disease. Accurate… rate LDL testing requires adherence to pre-analytical procedures, particularly fasting for 10-12 hours. This study aimed to describe LDL levels and fasting compliance among outpatient cardiac patients at RSU Prima Medika Denpasar. A descriptive cross-sectional design was used with purposive sampling, involving 35 cardiac outpatients from February to March 2025. Data were collected through interviews and laboratory examinations using the Furuno CA-270 device. Results showed that 71% of respondents had LDL levels >100 mg/dL, indicating high levels, while 29% hadnormal levels (<100 mg/dL). All respondents (100%) complied with the fasting requirement. These findings indicate that high LDL levels are still commonly found among outpatient cardiac patients, particularly in productive-age males. The high level of fasting compliance reflects the effectiveness of pre-analytical patient education. This study emphasizes the importance of routine lipid screening and continuous education to enhance laboratory diagnostic accuracy and prevent cardiovascular complications.

S.A.N Diah Ratnasari Warassaty, Prasetya, Didik, Nyoman Sudarma
Abstract: The rising prevalence of obesity in Indonesia contributes to increased risk of metabolic diseases such as diabetes mellitus. Body Mass Index (BMI) is commonly used to assess nutritional status and may be correlated with… long-term blood glucose levels measured by Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c). This study aimed to explore the relationship between BMI and HbA1c levels in patients at Prima Medika General Hospital, Denpasar. A cross-sectional analytic observational design was employed, involving 30 purposively selected respondents. BMI was calculated from weight and height measurements, while HbA1c levels were assessed using the immunoturbidimetric method. Results showed an even distribution of respondents in the normal and overweight BMI categories (each 46.5%), while 50% had HbA1c levels >8%. However, Pearson correlation analysis indicated no statistically significant relationship between BMI and HbA1c levels (p=0.982; r=-0.004). The study concludes that BMI does not have a linear correlation with HbA1c levels. Other factors such as type and duration of therapy, disease progression, and patient adherence may play a greater role in influencing glycemic control and should be further investigated.

Taufiq, Reny Medikawati, Syahril, Syahril, Rafdi, Faris Abi, Firdaus, Rahmad, Sunanto, Sunanto, Muarif, Putri Fadhilla
Abstract: Abstract: This study aims to develop a Deep Learning-based Traffic Flow Detector to automatically and accurately observe traffic flow. Conventional traffic observation is often conducted manually or via CCTV, but it is prone… rone to human error and difficult to use for real-time trend analysis. In this study, the YOLOv4 method is used to detect four types of vehicles (cars, motorcycles, buses, trucks). To continuously track vehicle movement and address occlusion issues, the Deep SORT algorithm is implemented. The YOLOv4 model used is a pre-trained model and was tested on seven CCTV video recordings obtained from the official website of the Pekanbaru City Transportation Department. The system was implemented on a limited device, the Nvidia Jetson Nano, as a simulation of direct CCTV integration. Test results showed a highest precision of 98%, but the maximum accuracy achieved was only 26%. This low accuracy is influenced by several factors, including video resolution, detection model quality, and lighting conditions. Nevertheless, the system demonstrates potential to support future traffic management and engineering decisions but still requires further optimization, including improving video resolution and quality, retraining the model with a more representative local dataset, using lighter and more accurate detection models, and optimizing the tracking algorithm. Keywords: deep learning; deepsort; NVIDIA Jetson NANO; traffic flow; YOLOv4 Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan Traffic Flow Detector berbasis Deep Learning untuk mengobservasi arus lalu lintas secara otomatis dan akurat.
