of the biggest contributors to environmental pollution. This program uses a collaborative governance method that involves Buha Village officials, thus the surrounding community is given education and training on how to process plastic bottle waste into paving blocks, starting from collection, shredding, mixing with materials such as sand and cement, to the printing process. The results of this activity show that the paving blocks produced have strength and quality that are suitable for light construction. In addition to reducing the amount of plastic waste, this program also opens up business opportunities for the local community. The active participation of the community in this program has a positive impact on increasing environmental awareness and local economic welfare. The community will collect plastic bottle waste through a waste Automatic Teller Mechine machine which will later become the basis for calculating royalties from the sale of paving blocks. The recycling process that has been carried out from plastic waste into paving blocks is very beneficial for the community and the environment itself.

Abstrak: Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengurangi dampak lingkungan dari limbah botol plastik dengan mengubahnya menjadi produk yang bernilai ekonomis, yaitu paving block. Limbah plastik, khususnya botol plastik, menjadi salah satu penyumbang terbesar dalam pencemaran lingkungan. Program ini menggunakan metode collaborative governance yang melibatkan perangkat Kelurahan Buha, dengan demikian masyarakat sekitar diberikan edukasi dan pelatihan tentang cara pengolahan limbah botol plastik menjadi paving block, mulai dari pengumpulan, pencacahan, pencampuran dengan bahan-bahan seperti pasir dan semen, hingga proses pencetakan. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa paving block yang dihasilkan memiliki kekuatan dan kualitas yang layak digunakan untuk konstruksi ringan. Selain mengurangi jumlah sampah plastik, program ini juga membuka peluang usaha bagi masyarakat setempat. Partisipasi aktif masyarakat dalam program ini memberikan dampak positif terhadap peningkatan kesadaran lingkungan dan kesejahteraan ekonomi lokal. Masyarakat akan mengumpulkan sampah botol plastic melalui mesin Automatic Teller Mechine sampah yang nantinya menjadi dasar perhitungan royalty dari penjualan paving block. Proses daur ulang yang telah dilakukan dari sampah plastik menjadi paving block sangat bermanfaat bagi masyarakat dan lingkungan.

This community service activity aims to increase the knowledge and skills of the students through training in processing coconut fiber waste into cocopeat using a chopping machine. This cocopeat product can be used as an organic planting medium. This training was held at the Al Mimbar boarding school in Jombang, East Java, which can create an alternative source of income for the boarding school and foster environmental awareness among students. The methods used in this training include socialization and hands-on practice in making cocopeat. The results of this activity show that the students are increasingly aware of the environment, are able to process coconut fiber waste into quality cocopeat, and understand the economic value of the product as well as the market potential that can be utilized by the pesantren to get additional sources of funding from the sales of cocopeat. Thus, this program can be the first step for pesantren in developing sustainable environment-based businesses, as well as making a positive contribution to improving the local economy.

Abstrak: Serabut kelapa atau sabut kelapa adalah bagian luar dari buah kelapa yang sering dianggap sebagai limbah setelah diambil daging dan airnya. Tanpa pengolahan yang tepat, serabut kelapa dibuang akan menumpuk di lingkungan sekitar sehingga menciptakan sejumlah masalah lingkungan. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan para santri melalui pelatihan pengolahan limbah serabut kelapa menjadi cocopeat dengan menggunakan mesin pencacah. Produk cocopeat ini dapat digunakan sebagai media tanam organik. Pelatihan ini diselenggarakan di pondok pesantren Al Mimbar Jombang Jawa Timur yang dapat menciptakan sumber pendapatan alternatif bagi pesantren dan menumbuhkan kesadaran lingkungan di kalangan santri. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelatihan ini meliputi sosialisasi dan praktek langsung pembuatan cocopeat. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa para santri semakin sadar akan lingkungan, mampu mengolah limbah serabut kelapa menjadi cocopeat berkualitas, dan memahami nilai ekonomis dari produk tersebut serta potensi pasar yang dapat dimanfaatkan pesantren mendapatkan tambahan sumber pendanaan dari pendapat penjualan cocopeat. Dengan demikian, program ini dapat menjadi langkah awal bagi pesantren dalam mengembangkan usaha berbasis lingkungan yang berkelanjutan, serta memberikan kontribusi positif bagi peningkatan perekonomian lokal.

The benefit of this research is to determine the influence of leaf chopper machine components, especially the number of leaf chopper blades, using descriptive qualitative research methods with data collection methods, literature studies and observations. The research location is in the HKBP Nommensen University Laboratory workshop, Pematang Siantar, North Sumatra. The research process took the form of testing carried out in several stages, namely using a single blade by varying the length of the blade and varying the rotation speed of the machine to compare the speed and chopping results. Three trials were carried out each with varying blade lengths of 30cm, 35cm and 40cm and rotation variations of 2500rpm, 3000rpm and 5000rpm. The results are in the form of a comparison of speed and counting results between variations of 30cm, 35cm and 40cm. The test results more effectively lead to variations in blade size of 40cm. And the results of testing the engine rotation speed which is more effective leads to a rotation speed variation of 5000rpm.
