included reading, collecting, and noting data, information, and their descriptions. The type of data used in this research was quantitative data in the form of secondary time series data. The data included Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) data, geographic data, population figures, distances between regions, regional potential, and other data, sourced from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) of North Sumatra Province, BPS and Regional Development Planning Agency (BAPPEDA) of North Tapanuli Regency, as well as online sources. The results of the analysis depict substantial GRDP growth and growth rates in both sub-districts: Siborong borong Sub-district with an index value of 184,495,189 and Simangumban Sub-district with an index value of 19,632,902. The analysis also demonstrated consistent and integrated growth across each sub-district and the regency in North Tapanuli. The Gravity Model revealed that North Tapanuli Regency had a strong attraction to its supporting areas, influenced by distance and interactions. The Williamson Index measures income inequality between regions, with results nearing 0, indicating economic equalization between the growth center and its supporting areas. In regional development, the role of North Tapanuli Regency as a growth center contributes to driving economic growth and the welfare of the surrounding communities.

influence of Instagram usage on their academic performance. A quantitative descriptive research design was employed. The study population consisted of 28 6th-semester Economics students at IPTS, and a total sampling technique was used to include all 28 students. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed through descriptive and inferential statistical methods. The descriptive analysis of Instagram usage yielded a mean score of 75.71, placing it in the "Good" category, while the mean academic score was 81, placing it in the "Very Good" category. Furthermore, inferential statistical testing showed that the calculated t-value (t-count) was greater than the t-table value (5.103 > 1.706). With a significance level of 0.000 at a 95% confidence level (or a 5% error rate/α = 0.05) where the significance value is less than α (0.000 < 0.05) it is concluded that there is a significant influence of Instagram usage on the academic performance of 6th-semester Economics students at the Institute of Education of South Tapanuli (IPTS).

the process of discovering their identity, are highly vulnerable to environmental and social influences that can lead to drug abuse. This study aims to determine the efforts made by the National Narcotics Agency (BNNK) of South Tapanuli Regency in preventing and handling drug abuse among adolescents in the South Tapanuli area. This study used a qualitative approach with field research methods. Data were obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. Informants in this study were employees of the BNNK of South Tapanuli, specifically the Prevention and Community Empowerment (P2M) team and the rehabilitation team. The results of the study indicate that prevention efforts are carried out through socialization, counseling, education, and collaboration with various parties in supporting the Prevention, Eradication of Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking (P4GN) program. Meanwhile, handling efforts are carried out through assessment, counseling, rehabilitation, and post-rehabilitation monitoring for drug abusers. The obstacles faced include low awareness in some communities, the influence of social circles, stigma against former drug users, and developments in technology and social media. Therefore, collaboration between families, schools, communities, and the government is necessary to support successful efforts to prevent and address drug abuse in teenagers.

nyata dari pengabdian masyarakat adalah kegiatan Kuliah Kerja Lapangan (KKL) yang wajib diikuti oleh mahasiswa sebagai bagian dari proses pembelajaran kontekstual di luar kelas. Universitas Graha Nusantara (UGN) Padangsidimpuan berkomitmen mengoptimalkan KKL sebagai sarana pengembangan kompetensi akademik dan sosial mahasiswa melalui keterlibatan langsung di tengah masyarakat. Pada tahun 2024, kegiatan KKL dilaksanakan di Desa Siamporik Lombang, Kecamatan Angkola Selatan, Kabupaten Tapanuli Selatan, Provinsi Sumatera Utara. Dengan pendekatan Participatory Action Research (PAR) yang dikombinasikan dengan prinsip service learning, mahasiswa dari berbagai program studi melaksanakan program lintas bidang, meliputi pendidikan, pertanian, ekonomi, sosial-politik, dan teknik. Kegiatan-kegiatan ini mencakup peningkatan literasi anak, inovasi pertanian berbasis sumber daya lokal, pelatihan ekonomi kreatif, pendataan kependudukan, serta perbaikan infrastruktur dan pengenalan teknologi edukatif. Hasil pelaksanaan menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan partisipatif efektif mendorong keterlibatan aktif masyarakat dan penguatan kapasitas mahasiswa sebagai agen perubahan. Mahasiswa tidak hanya menerapkan ilmu yang diperoleh di bangku kuliah, tetapi juga mengembangkan empati, kepemimpinan, serta kemampuan berpikir kritis dan kolaboratif. Pelaksanaan KKL ini menegaskan bahwa perguruan tinggi mampu berkontribusi secara konkret terhadap pembangunan masyarakat melalui model pengabdian yang kolaboratif dan transformatif. Harapannya, model ini dapat direplikasi di wilayah lain untuk mendorong masyarakat yang mandiri dan berdaya.

egeri 3 Tapanuli Selatan. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) design using the 4-D model, which consists of four stages: defining, designing, developing, and disseminating. The research subjects were 36 seventh-grade students in the second semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. The instruments used included expert validation sheets, teacher and student practicality questionnaires, classroom observation sheets, and mathematical problem-solving tests. The results revealed that the developed learning device achieved an average expert validation score of 4.25 in the very valid category in terms of content, language, and presentation. The practicality test showed that the teacher’s response reached 89% and the students’ response reached 91%, categorized as very practical, indicating that the device was easy to use and engaging for students. The effectiveness test showed an average N-Gain score of 0.52 (moderate category) with 86.11% of students achieving mastery learning, signifying that the learning device was effective in enhancing students’ mathematical problem-solving abilities.
The integration of the realistic mathematics approach with local cultural elements (ethnomathematics) successfully created meaningful and contextual learning experiences while fostering students’ appreciation for their cultural heritage. Therefore, the developed learning device is feasible to be implemented as an innovative mathematics learning medium based on cultural contexts in junior high schools and madrasah.

The researcher uses purposive sampling technique to get the subjects or informants. The data was obtained by distributing the questionnaire and interviewing for the informants. It is found that the result of the EFL Student's perceptions of using AI Paraphrasing Tool in Academic English Writing Class at the Eighth semester of the English Language Education Study Program of the South Tapanuli Education Institute is positive category. The researcher found that the mean score of Strongly Disagree categories (10.3%), Disagree (18%), Neutral (29%) and Agree (20.3%), Strongly Agree (22.3%). Furthermore, the result of factors influencing the EFL Students' perceptions of using AI Paraphrasing Tool in Academic English Writing Class in Academic English Writing Class at the Eighth semester of English Language Education Study Program South Tapanuli Education Institute is external factors more dominant than internal factors.
