Pembentukan Goal Belajar Anak Usia Dini dalam Perspektif Teori Perkembangan Kognitif

Nerru Pranuta Murnaka, Devina Indah Christianti, Ratih Kusumo Wardani, Elizabeth W. M. Indira
Abstract: Early childhood is frequently understood as a golden period of development; therefore, the formulation of learning goals becomes a crucial component that influences the direction of children’s behavior, motivation, and engagement… engagement in the learning process. Problems arise when learning goals are predominantly formulated from an adult perspective, while the characteristics of children’s cognitive development are not fully taken into account, causing learning objectives to be difficult for children to understand and internalize. This study aims to examine the formation of learning goals for early childhood through the perspective of Jean Piaget’s cognitive development theory in order to obtain a conceptual understanding that is more aligned with children’s developmental stages. The research method employs a qualitative approach through a literature review of textbooks and national and international journal articles relevant to learning goals, cognitive development, and early childhood education, which are then analyzed descriptively through processes of identification, classification, and synthesis of theoretical concepts. The findings indicate that learning goals for early childhood tend to be concrete, short-term, contextual, and activity-oriented, and are not yet supported by mature self-regulation abilities. Based on Piaget’s framework, early childhood falls within the preoperational stage; therefore, understanding learning goals is highly dependent on direct experiences, play-based activities, simple symbols, and teacher guidance. The conclusion emphasizes that the design of learning goals must be consciously adjusted to children’s cognitive developmental stages so that learning objectives can be understood, meaningful, and optimally achieved. The novelty of this study lies in the conceptual integration of Piaget’s cognitive development theory with the practical formulation of learning goals in early childhood education as a theoretical–practical foundation for teachers.

Abstract: Strategic planning of educational support facilities and infrastructure constitutes an essential aspect in enhancing the overall quality and efficacy of educational systems. The availability and suitability of educational… l facilities serve as critical determinants influencing the smooth execution of teaching and learning activities, as well as the attainment of long-term institutional objectives. A frequent challenge encountered by educational institutions is the discrepancy between actual needs and the allocation of facilities and infrastructure, potentially leading to resource inefficiencies and degradation of educational service quality. Hence, an in-depth investigation into comprehensive strategic planning mechanisms is imperative to support precise, data-driven decision-making processes. This study employs a literature review methodology, integrating diverse scholarly sources, including indexed international journals, academic textbooks, national education policies, and other pertinent documents, to delineate an adaptive and sustainable conceptual framework for strategic planning. The findings affirm that the strategic planning process for educational facilities and infrastructure encompasses three principal stages: (1) empirical and prospective needs analysis, taking into account learner dynamics and curricular changes; (2) budget planning prioritizing fiscal efficiency and optimal resource utilization; and (3) procurement prioritization based on urgency, relevance, and impact on educational quality enhancement. The scope of facilities and infrastructure planned includes various categories ranging from physical infrastructure, consumables, immovable assets, to modern educational technology devices. The novelty of this research lies in the development of a holistic and participatory strategic planning model that accommodates the needs of all stakeholders and adapts to the evolving global educational landscape. Practical implications of this study are anticipated to reinforce governance in the procurement of educational facilities and infrastructure, ensuring effectiveness, transparency, and sustainability, while simultaneously supporting national educational transformation toward superior quality and heightened competitiveness.

This study aims to analyze the content of exercises and questions representing higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) in the Mathematics textbook for grade VII junior high school published by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology as teaching materials for the Independent Curriculum. Anifarka & Rosnawati (2023) stated that a quality textbook should be able to facilitate students' cognitive development in line with the established learning outcomes. The method applied in this study is content analysis with a qualitative descriptive approach. The analysis instrument refers to the cognitive dimensions C4 (Analyzing), C5 (Evaluating), and C6 (Creating) based on the revised Bloom's taxonomy by Anderson & Krathwohl (2001). The research findings indicate that of a total of 485 questions and activities spread across six chapters, 147 items (30.31%) are classified as HOTS. The highest HOTS distribution was found in Chapter 5 on Linear Equations and Inequalities with One Variable (38.46%), while the lowest was in Chapter 1 on Numbers (22.80%). The most dominant cognitive level is C4-Analyzing (58.50%), followed by C5-Evaluating (28.57%), and C6-Creating (12.93%). This finding indicates that the Independent Curriculum textbooks have integrated HOTS more systematically than the previous curriculum (Fanani, 2018), although the proportion needs to be increased to meet the demands of 21st-century learning.
