PERFORMANCES OF BROILER CHICKEN FED RATIONS CONTAINNING CINNAMON BARK POWDER (Cinnamomum burmannii).

Abstract: This research was conducted in order to determine or to re-examine the performances of broiler chickens fed ration containing cinnamon bark powder (Cinnamomum burmannii).  Eighty of CP 707 broiler chickens aged of 2 weeks&#8230; ks were used and kept until 6 weeks old. Completely Randomized Design with 5 treatments and 4 replications each treatment was used in this study; the treatments used were, T0= 100% basal ration without cinnamon bark powder (CBP), T1= 99.5% basal ration + 0.5% CBP, T2= 99% basal ration + 1% CBP, T3= 98.5% basal ration + 1.5 % CBP, and T4= 98% basal ration + 2% CBP.  The measurements taken were feed consumption, weight gain, feed conversion, and final body weight. The results of analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Duncan test showed that, giving cinnamon bark powder up to 2% in the ration had an effect on CP 707 broiler chickens aged 2-6 weeks; had a very significantly different effect (P<0.01) on body weight gained and so, on final body weight; and significantly different (P <0.05) on feed conversion, but not on feed consumption. In this study, the higher the level of CBP in the ration, the weight gained and final body weight decreased but feed conversion increased.  Based on the results of the analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that giving cinnamon bark powder as a natural feed additive up to 2% in the feed did not improve the performance of CP 707 broiler chickens, because of weight gained and final body weight of the chickens decreased, while, feed conversion increased, which means that, economically it was not getting better.

WHEN WEIGHT DETERMINES CHILDBIRTH CHOICES: A DESCRIPTIVE STUDY OF OBESE PREGNANT WOMEN AT REGIONAL HOSPITAL DR. H. ABDUL MOELOEK OF LAMPUNG

Abstract: Obesity in mothers is a major worldwide health issue that significantly raises the need for obstetric procedures, especially cesarean sections. Numerous difficulties for both mothers and newborns have been linked to elevated&#8230; ated pre-pregnancy and gestational body mass indexes (BMI). The purpose of this study is to characterize the distribution of delivery methods among pregnant women who are obese at Dr. H. Abdul Moeloek Regional Hospital in Lampung Province, Indonesia. Total sampling was used to perform a quantitative, descriptive retrospective analysis. 58 pregnant women with a BMI of 30 kg/m² or above who gave birth between 2017 and 2023 were included. SPSS version 27.0 was utilized for data analysis. Findings out of the 58 instances that could be analyzed, 69.0% of obese pregnant women gave delivery via cesarean section, 27.6% gave birth spontaneous vaginally, and 3.4% had a vacuum induction. The majority (31.0%) were between the ages of 35 and 39, and 77.6% were multiparous. The type of delivery was found to be strongly influenced by maternal age, parity, and obesity. Being obese greatly raises the risk of having a cesarean section, especially for older and multiparous women. Reducing needless cesarean rates and improving mother and newborn outcomes may be possible with early treatments such as lifestyle modification education, prenatal counseling, and BMI-based risk assessment.  

RELATIONSHIP OF BODY MASS INDEX WITH HbA1c MEASURES IN PATIENTS AT PRIMA MEDIKA DENPASAR HOSPITAL

Abstract: The rising prevalence of obesity in Indonesia contributes to increased risk of metabolic diseases such as diabetes mellitus. Body Mass Index (BMI) is commonly used to assess nutritional status and may be correlated with&#8230; long-term blood glucose levels measured by Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c). This study aimed to explore the relationship between BMI and HbA1c levels in patients at Prima Medika General Hospital, Denpasar. A cross-sectional analytic observational design was employed, involving 30 purposively selected respondents. BMI was calculated from weight and height measurements, while HbA1c levels were assessed using the immunoturbidimetric method. Results showed an even distribution of respondents in the normal and overweight BMI categories (each 46.5%), while 50% had HbA1c levels >8%. However, Pearson correlation analysis indicated no statistically significant relationship between BMI and HbA1c levels (p=0.982; r=-0.004). The study concludes that BMI does not have a linear correlation with HbA1c levels. Other factors such as type and duration of therapy, disease progression, and patient adherence may play a greater role in influencing glycemic control and should be further investigated.

THE EFFECT OF TRAINING USING RUBBER WEIGHTS AND WITHOUT WEIGHTS ON THE SPEED OF PENCAK SILAT PSHT RANTING CRESCENT KICK TANAH PUTIH TANJUNG MELAWAN

Abstract: This study aims to determine the effect of training using rubber weights and with-out weights on the speed of the PSHT Tanah Putih Tanjung Melawan pencak silat sickle kick. This study is an experimental study using the True&#8230; rue experiment design method. The sample in this study was 14 female athletes. The instrument in this study was a 10-second sickle kick speed test with 3 trials and the best value was taken. Data analysis and testing of the research hypothesis used the t-test analysis technique (t-test) with a significance level of α = 0.05. The results of the study showed that: (1) there was an increase in the speed of the sickle kick after athletes followed a training program using rubber weights with an average value of 13.71 in the pre-test and increased by 6.72 or 7% to 20.43 in the post-test. The statistical results showed that the sig-2 tailed value was 0.000 ≤ 0.05. (2) there is an increase in the speed of the sickle kick after the athlete follows a training program without rubber weights with an average value of 13.43 in the pre-test increasing by 5% to 18.43 in the post-test. With statistical results showing that the sig-2 tailed value is 0.000 ≤ 0.05. (3) there is an increase in kick speed between training using rubber weights and without weights with a sig-2 tailed value of 0.013 ≤ 0.05. It can be concluded that training using rubber weights is more effective in increasing the speed of the sickle kick compared to training without rubber weights in the Pen-cak Silat PSHT Ranting Tanah Putih Tanjung Melawan.   

EVALUATION OF THE SUITABILITY OF MANGROVE RIVER COASTAL WATER FOR SEA CUCUMBER CULTIVATION

Abstract: This study aimed to evaluate the suitability of the coastal waters of Sungai Bakau, Kumai District, as an alternative site for sea cucumber (Holothuria scabra) aquaculture. Water quality parameters, including temperature,&#8230; , salinity, and pH, were monitored, along with the growth performance of sea cucumbers in terms of body weight and length during the cultivation period. The results showed water temperatures ranging from 28–31°C, pH values between 8.3–8.7, and an average salinity of 20.5 ppt. Although the salinity was slightly below the optimal range (28–32 ppt), the sea cucumbers demonstrated positive growth. Final measurements indicated an increase in body weight from 10–20 grams to an average of 0.29 kg, and in body length up to 16.7 cm over approximately three months of cultivation. These findings suggest that the coastal waters of Sungai Bakau have potential for sea cucumber aquaculture development, with some adjustments needed to optimize salinity conditions.

THE DIFFERENCE CHANGE IN WEIGHT FAMILY PLANNING INJECTION ACCEPTORS THREE MONTHS WITH ONE MONTH IN MUARA VILLAGE CIREBON DISTRICT

Abstract: Injected contraception is the most contraception method chosen by Indonesian women. There are 2 types of injected contraception, 3 monthly injecion which consists of progesterone  only and 1 monthly injection consists of&#8230; f a combination of oesterogen-progesterone. One of its side effect is increase weight, which is  usually distressing for women due to the increase risk of suffering from many diseases such as heart attack, type-2 diabetes mellitus, sleep apnea, certain cancer, osteoarthritis, and asthma. The study aim was to identify the difference weight gain occurence between 3 monthly and 1 monthly injected contraception users in Muara Village- Suranenggala District. This research method uses comparative analytic studies using cross sectional resulting research which measured in interval scale. The sample is all 3 months KB injecting participants as much as 30 respondents and 1 month KB injections as much as 30 respondents. The data is analysis using t-test. The result showed a  ρ value of  0,005 which meant there was a difference in weight gain occurence between the users of 3 monthly and 1 monthly injected contraception. The 3 monthly  injection had been proven increasing the incidence of weight gain compared to the 1 monthly one. It was suggested that midwives should give proper counselling regarding to side effect of increasing weight gain during the use of 3 monthly contraceptive injection to be aware of by the users. Further investigation on other influencing factors of weight gain among contraceptive injection users.

PEMBUATAN BIOETANOL DARI MAHKOTA BUAH NANAS VARIETAS CAYANE DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN SACCHAROMYCES CEREVISIAE

Abstract: The scarcity of petroleum resources or other fuel sources encourages efforts to find alternative energy, namely Bioethanol.  Alternative raw materials that can be utilised in the manufacture of bioethanol from biomass are&#8230; re pineapple crowns. Making Bioethanol from Pineapple Fruit Crown Cayane Variety by Using Saccharomyces cerevisiae Microbes is by varying the weight of yeast and the optimum fermentation time on the level of bioethanol produced.  In this study using NaOH 1.5%w to degrade the lignin content in the crown of pineapple varieties cayane and H2SO4 2%v to convert cellulose into glucose. The research used variations in yeast weight of 7.5%; 10%; 12.5%w and variations in fermentation time of 2; 3; 4; 5 days in the fermentation process.  While the purification process uses simple distillation with operating conditions 78oC-80oC for 2.5 -4 hours.  Bioethanol obtained was tested for refractive index and gask romatography (GC). The test results obtained the optimum weight of yeast is 12.5 grams at 3 days fermentation time with bioethanol content of 6.154%.

Perbandingan algoritma WMA dan SES dalam melakukan Prediksi Reservasi Kamar Raz Hotel And Convention Medan

Abstract: The rapid growth of the hotel industry requires hotels to improve operational planning, one of which is by forecasting room reservations. Inaccurate forecasting may cause an imbalance between room availability and customer&#8230; er demand. This study aims to compare the Weighted Moving Average and Single Exponential Smoothing algorithms in forecasting room reservations at Raz Hotel and Convention Medan using historical data from January 2025 to May 2026. The research method consisted of data collection, forecasting using both algorithms, and accuracy evaluation through Mean Absolute Deviation, Mean Squared Error, and Mean Absolute Percentage Error. The results indicate that the Single Exponential Smoothing algorithm achieved a Mean Absolute Percentage Error of 15.24%, which is lower than the 15.63% obtained by the Weighted Moving Average algorithm. Furthermore, the Single Exponential Smoothing algorithm predicted 835.90 room reservations for June 2026. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Single Exponential Smoothing algorithm provides better forecasting accuracy and is more suitable for predicting room reservations at Raz Hotel and Convention Medan.

Peramalan Kebutuhan Stok Beras Di Warung Grosir Giran Menggunakan Metode Weighted Moving Average

Abstract: Improper rice stock management in wholesale businesses can lead to shortages or overstock that negatively impact operational efficiency. This study aims to forecast rice stock needs at Warung Grosir Giran using the Weighted&#8230; ted Moving Average method with a weighting of 1:2:3, based on historical data from January 2025 to June 2026. A quantitative approach with time series forecasting technique was applied. Accuracy was evaluated using Mean Absolute Deviation, Mean Squared Error, and Mean Absolute Percentage Error. The results show that the forecasted rice stock requirement for July 2026 is 1,456.67 kg. The accuracy evaluation yielded a Mean Absolute Deviation of 78.22, Mean Squared Error of 9,288.15, and Mean Absolute Percentage Error of 5.71%, which is classified as highly accurate. In conclusion, the Weighted Moving Average method is suitable as a decision-support tool for rice stock management at Warung Grosir Giran.

Hubungan Frekuensi Konsumsi Minuman Berpemanis Dengan Kejadian Gizi Lebih Pada Remaja SMP Negeri 28 Surabaya

Abstract: The consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages (SSBs) among adolescents has increased and may contribute to the rising prevalence of overweight due to their high sugar and energy content. This study aimed to analyze the relationship&#8230; lationship between the consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages and the incidence of overweight among adolescents at SMP Negeri 28 Surabaya. This study employed an analytical observational design with a cross-sectional approach. A total of 164 respondents were selected using proportional random sampling. Data on sugar-sweetened beverage consumption were collected using a Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ), while nutritional status was assessed using Body Mass Index-for-Age (BMI-for-Age). Data were analyzed using the Chi-square test. The results showed a significant association between the consumption of sweetened tea (p = 0.023) and carbonated soft drinks (p = 0.000) with overweight, whereas the consumption of coffee, bubble tea, sweetened milk, isotonic drinks, syrup, and yogurt was not significantly associated with overweight (p > 0.05). It can be concluded that frequent consumption of sweetened tea and carbonated soft drinks is associated with an increased risk of overweight among adolescents. Therefore, nutrition education and limiting the consumption of sugar-sweetened beverages are recommended as preventive strategies to reduce overweight among adolescents.
