Abstract:On a world scale, the main cause of high maternal mortality is post-partum infection. Of the 500 million incidents of postpartum infections, there are 75,000 deaths, in Purbalingga the incidence of perineal infections will…
ll reach 5.7% in 2023. One of the factors is the high rate of postpartum infections, namely low knowledge about infection prevention. One effective management is perineal wound care using NaCl 0.9%. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of wound treatment using 0.9% NaCl in normal primiparous post partum mothers with indications of perineal rupture in Kejobong Village. This research uses a qualitative method with a case study approach. After treating the wound twice for 3 days using 0.9% NaCl, it was found that the wound looked better and there were no signs of infection as indicated by a decrease in the REEDA score from 11 categories of unhealed wounds to 2 categories of moderate wounds. This is supported by cleanliness of the wound area and choosing the right food. Wound treatment using 0.9% NaCl is effective for healing perineal ruptures.
Abstract:Background: Diarrhea is the second-leading cause of mortality in children under the age of five. Based on data from the Pontianak City Health Office in 2021, the number of findings was 727 in toddlers. And in 2022, there…
were as many as 918 findings of diarrhea in toddlers at Gang Sehat Health Center. Mother's factor also affects the occurrence of diarrhea in toddlers. Knowledge is one of the factors causing the high mortality rate due to diarrhea. The importance of maternal knowledge and attitudes in handling diarrheal diseases needs to be discussed because diarrhea that is delayed or improperly handled can cause pain and adverse effects on children, namely infant mortality. Objective: To determine the relationship between mothers' knowledge and attitudes about diarrhea management and the classification of diarrhea in toddlers at the Gang Sehat Health Center. Methods: This study used the accidental sampling method with bivariate analysis using the Chi-Square test. Results: The Chi Square test resulted in a value of 0.934, meaning that the P value > 0.05 indicates that there is no relationship between maternal knowledge and diarrhea classification in toddlers. With the results of the value of 0.443, meaning that the P value > 0.05, there is no relationship between the mother's attitude and diarrhea classification about diarrhea management in toddlers. Conclusion: There is no relationship between knowledge and attitude of mothers with diarrhea classification regarding diarrhea management in toddlers
Abstract:Working mothers with toddlers face dual-role demands that may lead to psychological distress, role conflict, and difficulties in maintaining a balance between work and childcare responsibilities. These challenges make coping…
ping strategies an essential factor in supporting mothers' psychological well-being. This study aims to analyze the coping strategies employed by working mothers with toddlers and identify the factors influencing their selection of coping strategies. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach using purposive sampling to recruit working mothers with children under five years of age employed at a Correctional Center. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, while data trustworthiness was ensured through source triangulation and member checking. The findings indicate that the coping strategies adopted by participants include social support, emotional regulation, relaxation activities, and the development of positive perspectives toward work and childcare responsibilities. The selection of these strategies is influenced by family support, personal experiences, job characteristics, the work environment, and individuals' ability to adapt to various demands. The study concludes that the successful management of dual roles among working mothers depends on their ability to integrate multiple coping strategies adaptively according to the situations they encounter. The novelty of this study lies in revealing coping strategies as an adaptive process that integrates social support, emotional regulation, relaxation activities, and positive perceptions of the work environment as part of maintaining a balance between occupational responsibilities and childcare.
Abstract:Chronic pain represents a major global health burden and often remains resistant to conventional pharmacological treatment, prompting the exploration of alternative therapeutic strategies. Electroencephalographic (EEG) neurofeedback…
eurofeedback has emerged as a non-invasive neuromodulatory intervention that enables patients to self-regulate brain activity and potentially alleviate persistent pain symptoms. This systematic review addresses the research problem of inconsistent evidence regarding the clinical efficacy and underlying mechanisms of EEG-based neurofeedback for chronic pain management in adults. A comprehensive analysis of 80 studies involving adults with chronic pain lasting at least three months was conducted, examining neurofeedback protocols, clinical pain outcomes, neurophysiological changes, secondary benefits, and methodological quality. Findings revealed heterogeneous results, with several studies reporting statistically significant and clinically meaningful pain reduction, particularly in conditions such as chemotherapy-induced neuropathy, fibromyalgia, and chronic back pain. Observed neurophysiological changes, including increased alpha power and modified connectivity in pain-related brain regions, were sometimes associated with clinical improvement, alongside reported benefits in sleep quality, mood, and overall well-being. However, evidence from sham-controlled randomized trials showed no significant differences between intervention and control groups, highlighting methodological limitations and challenges in blinding procedures. The review concludes that EEG neurofeedback is a safe and feasible intervention with potential therapeutic value for chronic pain, although current evidence remains inconsistent. The novelty of this study lies in its integrative evaluation of clinical outcomes, neurophysiological mechanisms, and protocol-specific effects, while emphasizing the need for personalized approaches, biomarker identification, and rigorous experimental designs to clarify efficacy and optimize treatment implementation.
Abstract:Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem that remains a serious challenge to child health because it is associated with impaired physical growth, cognitive development, and the quality of human resources in the future.…
This condition is influenced by inadequate nutritional intake, particularly during the first 1,000 days of life, which plays a critical role in determining the quality of child growth. Exclusive breastfeeding is considered an important factor that contributes to meeting nutritional needs and strengthening the immune system of children. The research problem focuses on the relationship between breastfeeding practices and the degree of stunting among children aged 1-5 years in the working area of Sempol Community Health Center, Bondowoso Regency, in 2025. The study employed a quantitative approach using an analytic survey design with a population consisting of all stunted toddlers in the area. A sample of 75 respondents was selected using a proportionate stratified random sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaires and observation sheets that assessed breastfeeding practices and the level of stunting based on the height-for-age (HFA) indicator. The results show that 72% of children received exclusive breastfeeding, while the remainder received partial breastfeeding or were not exclusively breastfed. The distribution of stunting severity indicates that 57.3% of children experienced mild stunting, 34.7% moderate stunting, and 8% severe stunting. The Chi-Square statistical test produced a p-value of 0.003 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant relationship between breastfeeding practices and the degree of stunting. These findings demonstrate that the nutritional quality and antibodies contained in breast milk play an important role in supporting optimal child height growth. The novelty of this study lies in its analysis of the relationship between breastfeeding practices and the severity of stunting within the specific context of a local community health center area that has rarely been examined in detail. The findings emphasize the importance of health education for mothers and strong family support to strengthen exclusive breastfeeding practices as a strategic effort to prevent stunting.
Abstract:Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem that occurs as a result of prolonged inadequate nutrient intake, beginning as early as the prenatal period, and leading to impaired physical growth and cognitive development in children.…
hildren. This condition remains a strategic public health issue because it has direct implications for the quality of human resources and national competitiveness in the future. This study focuses on the role of the family, particularly pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers, in preventing stunting through adequate nutritional fulfillment during the first 1,000 days of life, with an emphasis on exclusive breastfeeding practices. The method employed is a conceptual review based on scientific literature and relevant health policies to analyze the relationship between early nutritional adequacy and the risk of stunting in children. The findings indicate that stunting not only results in children having a height below the age-standard norm, but also disrupts brain development, which in turn affects learning ability, productivity, creativity, and children’s readiness to face future educational and social challenges. Family-based approaches to stunting prevention have proven effective, as the family represents the primary and earliest environment for meeting children’s nutritional needs. Exclusive breastfeeding during the first six months of life emerges as a key strategy, as it optimally fulfills infants’ nutritional requirements and reduces the risk of malnutrition. The conclusion of this study emphasizes that strengthening the role of the family through nutritional education for pregnant and breastfeeding mothers is a strategic step toward sustainable stunting prevention. The novelty of this scientific work lies in its integrative emphasis on family-based approaches and the optimization of exclusive breastfeeding as a foundation for improving human resource quality from early life, encompassing not only physical, but also cognitive, emotional, and social dimensions of child development.
