TENSILE UPLIFT CAPACITY AND FAILURE MECHANISMS OF SCREW-PILE ANCHORS IN CLAY SOIL UNDER REPEATED LOADING

Munirwansyah
Abstract: This study investigates the tensile uplift capacity of screw piles in clay soil as an alternative anchoring system for slope stabilization in cohesive ground conditions. The research aims to address the limited availability… ity of empirical field data on screw-pile behavior under repeated loading and to evaluate the agreement between theoretical predictions and actual in situ responses. The methodology employs an experimental approach through in situ testing with screw-pile diameters of 10 cm, 15 cm, and 20 cm, and embedment depths ranging from 0.6 m to 1.0 m. The tests were conducted under both static and repeated tensile loading using a hydraulic jack system, accompanied by vertical deformation measurements to establish load–displacement curves. Theoretical capacity was calculated using a limit equilibrium approach for comparison with experimental results. The findings reveal a nonlinear load–displacement response, characterized by initial stiffness followed by progressive deformation into the post-yield stage. At a maximum load of 2.858 tons, deformation increased with diameter, from 5.10 cm (10 cm) to 8.49 cm (20 cm). Under repeated loading, failure occurred at a lower load of approximately 1.6 tons with a maximum deformation of 1.648 cm, indicating potential capacity degradation due to cyclic loading. The comparison between theoretical and field results shows significant deviations, with analytical predictions generally underestimating the in situ capacity. This highlights the limitations of simplified models that do not fully account for shaft adhesion, installation disturbance, soil heterogeneity, pore-water pressure effects, and cyclic degradation. Overall, this study contributes valuable field pull-out test data for screw piles in clay under repeated loading, emphasizing the need for design calibration based on full-scale testing for slope stabilization applications. The results also suggest opportunities for further research involving long-term monitoring and advanced modeling of cyclic degradation.

THE SOCIAL FUNCTION OF TRADITIONAL POETRY OF BINI PULAU ROTE IN THE MAINTENANCE OF THE SOCIO-CULTURAL IDENTITY OF LOCAL COMMUNITIES

Yeheskial A Roen, Jeni M. Ataupah, Jacklin S. Manafe
Abstract: This study aims to analyze the social function of bini traditional poetry in the maintenance of the socio-cultural identity of local communities in Londalusi, East Rote District, Rote-Ndao Regency. The focus of the research… rch is directed at the identification of the educational, normative, symbolic, integrative, and communicative functions of oral traditions related to the life cycle of society, including birth, marriage, and death. This study uses a qualitative approach with ethnographic-descriptive design. Data was collected through in-depth interviews and documentation of traditional narratives submitted by two key informants, namely traditional speakers (manehelo) and local traditional leaders. Data analysis was carried out thematically to map the social function of traditional narratives in the context of people's social lives. The results of the study show that traditional narratives and traditional bini poetry play an important role as a medium for inheriting traditional values, collective memory, local cosmology, and inter-generational social ethics. This oral tradition functions as a means of informal education, a regulator of social norms, a symbol of representation of the Rote people's worldview, a strengthening of social cohesion, and a cultural communication medium that maintains the continuity of the socio-cultural identity of the local community. This research confirms that the oral tradition of bini is not just an aesthetic expression, but a living and adaptive socio-cultural system. These findings contribute to strengthening the study of oral literature and cultural anthropology, especially in the context of Indonesian archipelago communities.

Abstract: Previous studies have shown that the Critical Path Method (CPM) and the Project Evaluation and Review Technique (PERT) are effective in optimizing project completion time. Based on observations, the construction of a single… ingle housing unit typically requires 64 working days. This study aims to obtain an optimal scheduling result by applying CPM and PERT to the construction project of a subsidized house type-36 in Perumahan Malimbukan Permai III, North Minahasa Regency. The analysis results indicate that the project’s critical path consists of A – B – C – D – E – F – H – K – L – M – N – P – Q. Using the CPM method, the required completion time is 55 days, while the PERT method yields an estimated 55.68 days. With a deadline of 60 days, the probability of completing the project is 99.94%. This study highlights the importance of monitoring the critical path and utilizing time estimation in project planning to prevent delays and unforeseen obstacles.

FROM THE FIELD TO THE PALACE: THE CULTURAL PRACTICE OF DELIVERING THE FIRST HARVEST BY THE KOLIMASANG COMMUNITY TO THE KING OF ADONARA

Christiyanti Abel, Sirilus Karolus Keroponama Keban
Abstract: The delivery of the first harvest by the people of Kolimasang Village to the King of Sagu in Adonara represents a symbol of agrarian relations rich in cultural and spiritual meaning. In Lamaholot tradition, the king is not… ot only a political–traditional leader but is also regarded as a representation of cosmic power that must be respected. In this perspective, the delivery of the first harvest becomes a kind of “rite of passage” from the profane world (the field) to the sacred world (the palace). Within Lamaholot tradition, this relationship is known as the 4A: Atadiken (Human), God, Nature, and Ancestral Spirits. The findings show that the procession of delivering the first harvest has been practiced for generations since the establishment of the Adonara Kingdom. The procession is carried out for two consecutive days, Tuesday and Wednesday, during the harvest week and month, usually March or April. On Tuesday, the ritual takes place in the fields during the first harvest, the yields of which are taken to the King of Adonara in Sagu. On Wednesday, the procession takes place in Lewo Sagu Atu Matang – Tanah Kota Dolu Wewang (the palace of the Adonara king), the site of the migration of King Arkian Kamba (the first Islamic King of Adonara). Both processions are preceded by traditional ritual prayers (Bao Lolon) addressed to God, Nature, and the Ancestral Spirits (3A). The equipment involved in the procession includes the harvest yield, tuak (palm wine) in bamboo containers, coconut-shell cups, gongs and drums, spears, machetes, and traditional clothing. In the procession, the king and his kin receive the harvest in a ceremonial welcome marked by traditional rituals, during which the king wears royal attire: the lipa sarong, a jacket, and a cap. The harvested produce is not only given to members of the royal family for consumption but also distributed to the wider community (ribu ratu). A tradition that remains preserved to this day—and considered the most essential—is the distribution of the first harvest by the king and his family to widows, the poor, orphans, and abandoned children. This symbolizes love, fairness, and equitable sharing—values that continue to be upheld today.

QUALIFICATIONS OF THE SPIRITUAL INTEGRITY OF JESUS’ LEADERSHIP IN THE GOSPEL OF MATTHEW: IMPLICATIONS FOR CHRISTIAN LEADERSHIP IN INDONESIA

Waruwu, Elianus, Sihotang, Korintus, Paimon, Edi, Jacky, Jacky

The Criticalness Of Surveillance From Jack To Roan In Susan Mihalic’s Dark Horses

Kartiningsih, Rindrah, Hamidah, Galuh Fadhelah Aulia, Pasopati, Rommel Utungga, Siadari, Yoshua Veron Handika Putra, Wijaya, Kusuma
Abstract: This study aims to examine how the concept of surveillance is carried out by Montgomery in his role as the father figure with authority in the novel Dark Horses by Susan Mihalic in 2021. The researchers use a qualitative… method and explorative approach, focusing on contexts and in-depth subjective interpretations. The surveillance is supported by Michel Foucault’s ideas on surveillance, normalization, and disciplinary actions. The analysis looks at how Jack, Roan's father, uses surveillance to control Roan's behavior and enforce normalization and disciplinary actions. This surveillance reflects the father's role as the authoritative figure in the family as reflection of governmentality. In conclusion, the study confirms that Jack's surveillance over Roan proves a father can control the actions and behavior of family members to ensure they follow his rules and desires.
