EVALUATION OF THE RETURN ON INVESTMENT FOR THE SCIENCEDIRECT SUBSCRIPTION: EVIDENCE FROM RESEARCH PRODUCTIVITY, CITATION IMPACT, AND ALTMETRICS AT THE UNIVERSITAS TERBUKA (2024–2026)

Ristiyono, Mohamad Pandu, Bashayeva, Nasywaa Sabina
Abstract: This study aims to evaluate the return on investment (ROI) of ScienceDirect subscriptions at Universitas Terbuka during the 2024–2026 period by examining research productivity, publication characteristics, and scholarly… y impact beyond conventional usage statistics. Rather than assessing subscription value solely through download counts, this study adopts a value-based assessment approach that integrates research performance indicators. A quantitative descriptive design with a bibliometric approach was employed. The dataset comprised 31 Scopus-indexed publications affiliated with Universitas Terbuka published between 2024 and 2026. Data were analyzed using publication productivity, citation performance, publication outlets, publisher distribution, and collaboration patterns. The findings indicate relatively stable research productivity, with 12 publications in 2024, 10 in 2025, and 9 in 2026. Publications were disseminated across various international publishers, predominantly Emerald, Turkish Online Journal of Distance Education, AIP Publishing, and Springer Nature, while no publication in the analyzed dataset appeared in Elsevier journals hosted on ScienceDirect. These findings suggest that the primary value of ScienceDirect lies not in serving as a publication destination but in functioning as a strategic knowledge infrastructure that supports literature discovery, research design, and scholarly writing. Consequently, evaluating subscription ROI should extend beyond COUNTER usage statistics and incorporate research productivity, citation impact, collaboration, and alternative metrics to capture broader institutional benefits. This study contributes a multidimensional framework for assessing electronic resource investments in academic libraries and provides empirical evidence to support evidence-based collection management and research policy in open and distance higher education institutions.

Sisilia, Mariska, Sitompul, Melva Melany
Abstract: Digitalization has become a key strategy for enhancing the competitiveness of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) amidst advances in information technology and changes in consumer behavior. The use of various digital… gital platforms, such as social media, marketplaces, digital payment applications, and technology-based financial recording systems, is expected to improve operational efficiency and expand marketing reach. However, the level of digital technology utilization by 3 Kg LPG distribution outlets remains varied, necessitating a more in-depth study of the impact of digitalization on business performance. This study aims to analyze the impact of digitalization on MSME performance based on interviews with owners and managers of 3 Kg LPG distribution outlets under PT Pinang Baris Langit Biru. The study employed a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation of 3 Kg LPG distribution outlets that have implemented digitalization in their business activities. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The research results indicate that the implementation of digitalization has a positive impact on MSME performance, particularly at 3 Kg LPG distribution outlets, including increasing sales, expanding market share, accelerating transaction processes, improving promotional effectiveness, and simplifying business administration and financial management. However, several obstacles remain, such as low digital literacy, limited human resources, and limited access to technology. Therefore, support in the form of training, mentoring, and government policies is needed to improve digital capabilities at 3 Kg LPG distribution outlets so that digital transformation can proceed optimally.

Ridha, Achmad, Anastasya, Lidya
Abstract: This study investigates factors driving purchase intention toward reject fashion products at factory outlets in Makassar, Indonesia. Reject products garments that fail manufacturer quality control standards but are sold… legally at discounted prices represent an underexplored segment of circular fashion consumption. Drawing on the Theory of Planned Behavior and the Value-Based Adoption Model, this study tests a structural model in which four antecedents defect transparency, price perception, environmental consciousness, and store reputation influence purchase intention through the mediating role of perceived value. A quantitative survey was conducted with 250 consumers who visited factory outlets in Makassar. Data were analyzed using PLS-SEM via SmartPLS 4.0. Common Method Bias was confirmed absent using Harman's Single Factor Test and Full Collinearity VIF. Results indicate that all four antecedents positively influence perceived value, which strongly predicts purchase intention. Price perception is the dominant driver, followed by store reputation, environmental consciousness, and defect transparency. Perceived value fully mediates the effect of defect transparency and partially mediates the remaining three antecedents. These findings contribute to circular fashion consumer behavior literature and offer practical guidance for factory outlet operators in Eastern Indonesia.
