THE ROLE OF CONSUMERS IN THE CIRCULAR ECONOMY: A LITERATURE REVIEW ON CONSUMER PROTECTION REGULATIONS AND SUSTAINABILITY

Naufal Shofwan
Abstract: In facing global sustainability challenges, consumers play a strategic role in shaping the direction of the circular economy. This article presents a literature review on the relationship between consumer protection and… the transition toward a sustainable consumption model. The main focus is directed at three key issues: the right to environmental information, the right to repair, and regulatory challenges related to greenwashing practices. By using a narrative literature review approach, this article examines various academic and policy sources to evaluate the extent to which consumer protection has been integrated into circular economy strategies. The findings show that although positive initiatives have been taken, regulatory implementation remains weak and often fails to provide effective protection mechanisms for consumers. The policy implications proposed include strengthening standards for environmental claims, expanding the right to repair across sectors, and increasing sustainability literacy at the consumer level. This article aims to enrich academic discourse and serve as a foundation for consumer-based policy development in support of the circular economy agenda.

THE INFLUENCE OF SOCIAL FACTORS ON HONEY CONSUMPTION INTEREST AMONG EARLY CHILDHOOD VISITORS AT PT. KEMBANG JOYO SRIWIJAYA MALANG

Ruth Nora Luthan Br Pardosi, Siti Azizah
Abstract: Honey consumption in Indonesia is still relatively low, at only around 10–15 grams per capita per year, far behind developed countries. This low consumption presents a challenge for honey industry players, including PT.… . Kembang Joyo Sriwijaya, which actively welcomes educational visits from young children. These visits have the potential to shape healthy consumption habits through direct interaction with the beekeeping process and education on the benefits of honey. This study aims to analyze the social factors that influence young visitors' interest in honey consumption, including product appeal, destination image, and knowledge. The study used a quantitative method with a convenience sampling technique on 50 respondents who were parents or guardians of children aged 4–5 years who visited PT. Kembang Joyo Sriwijaya for educational purposes. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, and observations, then analyzed using multiple linear regression to test the influence of each variable on consumption interest. The results showed that all three social factors product appeal, destination image, and knowledge play a significant role in shaping young children's interest in honey consumption. Product appeals such as packaging, flavor, and interactive experiences have been shown to increase children's interest. The image of a clean, safe, educational, and child-friendly destination strengthens visitors' positive perceptions. Meanwhile, knowledge about the benefits of honey and its production process increases parents' motivation to introduce honey as a healthy consumption. RECONSTRUCTING SOCIAL PIETY: OVERCOMING THE HYPER-INDEPENDENCE OF GENERATION Z PERSPECTIVE OF AL-QUR'AN SURAH AL-MA'UN

Muh. Alimin, Syamsul Ma’arif Ilyas, Ahmad Tri Muslim HD, Harel Bayu Paizin, Ratnah Umar
Abstract: This research aims to deconstruct the phenomenon of hyper-independence that massively affects Generation Z within the contemporary digital ecosystem. As digital natives, Generation Z often falls into the trap of extreme… self-reliance, which is regarded as a personal achievement but sociologically triggers the disintegration of social capital and societal atomization. The primary issue raised is how technological independence paradoxically creates emotional distance and social apathy toward real-world suffering. Utilizing a qualitative method based on library research and a Social Interpretation (al-tafsir al-ijtima’i) approach, this study positions Surah Al-Ma’un as a theological framework to address this solidarity crisis. The analysis is conducted by creating a dialogue between the Quranic text and digital sociological theories regarding social ties and atomization. The results show that Surah Al-Ma’un offers a radical critique of "religious individualism" by categorizing those who separate prayer rituals from social sensitivity as deniers of the faith. This study finds novelty in the reinterpretation of the term al-ma'un, which in the digital era is no longer limited to simple material aid but has transformed into "collaborative assets" encompassing information literacy, emotional support, and digital resource accessibility for marginalized groups. The research formulates the Inclusive Social Piety model, which integrates three main pillars: spiritual interconnection awareness, digital altruism, and empowering independence. This model functions as a solution to transform the narcissistic "I" paradigm into a collaborative "We" paradigm. In conclusion, the internalization of Al-Ma’un's values acts as a bridge between the personal advancement of Generation Z and their collective responsibility, serving as a basis for character strengthening in Islamic higher education to remain functional and responsive to human problems in the era of disruption.

AL-IDHAFAH, AL-NA’AT, AND AL-TAUKID: STRUCTURAL RELATIONS BETWEEN ELEMENTS IN ARABIC SYNTAX

Sulfadli, Muslimin Resi, Hamzah
Abstract: This research aims to explain the structural relations between al-idhāfah, al-naʿt, and al-tawkīd in Arabic syntax and to delineate how their interaction influences meaning formation and functional distribution within the… the nominal phrase. This study is conducted because previous research has tended to discuss these three elements separately, resulting in a lack of an integrated analytical model that describes the hierarchical and semantic relationships between them. The study employs a qualitative-descriptive approach, analyzing data drawn from classical nahwu texts, modern Arabic corpora, and relevant contemporary research. Data were classified based on the patterns of element occurrence and analyzed through structural syntactic analysis methods to identify their functions, positions, and i‘rāb (inflectional) implications. The results indicate that idhāfah serves as a marker of possessive relations and semantic restriction, naʿt functions to provide descriptive modification that clarifies the referent, and tawkīd reinforces the reference both structurally and semantically. These three form dependency patterns that influence each other when present within a single phrasal construction. The novelty of this research lies in the formulation of an integrative relational model that combines syntactic functions, hierarchical structures, and semantic implications into a single operational analytical framework. This model provides a more comprehensive understanding compared to previous fragmentary studies. These findings have important implications for the teaching of nahwu, the analysis of modern Arabic discourse, and the development of computational linguistic applications that require more accurate mapping of nominal structures.

FORMULATING BUSINESS STRATEGY AND PROFITABILITY TO INCREASE COMPANY VALUE: AN ANALYSIS OF THE MEDIATING ROLE OF CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Erlita, Arry Widodo, Putu Nina Madiawati
Abstract: This study aims to analyze the influence of business strategy and profitability on firm value, with Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) as a mediating variable at Bank BPD DIY. This study uses a quantitative causality… approach with a confirmatory nature, testing the extent to which the Resource-Based View (RBV) and Stakeholder Theory are confirmed in the context of the regional banking industry. Primary data were collected through a 1–5 Likert-scale questionnaire from all BPD DIY managers (census method, 163 respondents) who met the criteria of managerial position, minimum three years of service, and involvement in strategic policy. Data analysis was performed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with the assistance of SmartPLS. This involved testing the outer model (convergent validity, discriminant validity, reliability) and inner model (path coefficient, R², f², Q²) to assess the direct and indirect effects between variables. The variables studied included business strategy, profitability, CSR, and firm value, operationalized across several dimensions, including future orientation, operational efficiency, the social and environmental dimensions of CSR, and market value and corporate reputation. The instrument was independently developed based on theoretical synthesis (David & David, Houston, Teodorescu Ionescu, Carroll, and others), then validated through expert judgment before being tested for validity and reliability on pilot respondents. The results showed that business strategy had a positive effect on CSR and firm value, while profitability had a positive effect on CSR and firm value, aligning with the view that slack resources and a prospector strategy encourage stronger CSR activities and improved market perception. CSR was shown to have a positive effect on firm value and acted as a mediating variable in the relationships between business strategy and firm value and profitability and firm value. Thus, CSR implementation strengthens the transmission of the influence of strategy and financial performance on increasing firm value. These findings confirm that the integration of a sustainability-oriented business strategy, strong profitability performance, and consistent CSR implementation is a crucial combination for enhancing firm value in the regional banking sector.

DEVELOPMENT OF A DEEP LEARNING-BASED CHARACTER BULDING AFFIRMATION MODEL IN INDONESIAN LANGUAGE LEARNING IN JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL

M. Agus
Abstract: This study aims to develop a character building affirmation learning model based on a deep learning approach in the context of Indonesian language learning at the Junior High School (SMP) level. This approach emphasizes… strengthening conceptual understanding and internalization of character values through reflective, collaborative, and meaningful learning activities. The study used the Design and Development Research (DDR) method with a 4D development model: Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate. The research subjects consisted of grade VIII students and Indonesian language teachers at SMP. Data collection techniques included observation, interviews, documentation, expert validation, and questionnaires to students and teachers. The validation results by three experts—character education, educational technology, and Indonesian language teachers—showed that this model is very valid, with an average score of 90% in the content, construct, and technology aspects. A limited trial conducted on 30 grade VIII students showed that 87% of students felt that this model made it easier for them to understand character values in depth. In addition, teachers considered this model practical, interactive, and able to increase students' active involvement in the learning process. These findings indicate that the affirmation character building model based on deep learning is not only effective in building attitude competencies and understanding of values, but is also relevant to be applied in Indonesian language learning. This model has the potential to be an innovative approach in technology-based character education that supports pedagogical transformation at the junior high school level

Matrona Patricia Malindir, Arry Widodo, Mahir Pradana
Abstract: This study examines consumer behavior towards sustainable products, specifically investigating the influence of environmental attitudes and green product attributes on green purchase intention among Tanimbar Ikat Weaving… consumers in Tanimbar Islands Regency. Employing a quantitative approach with Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) analysis through SmartPLS software, data were collected from 385 respondents selected via purposive sampling based on consumers who knew and had purchased Tanimbar woven products. The research tested direct relationships and moderating effects of premium price, education, and gender variables. Results revealed that environmental attitudes (β = 0.349; t = 5.306; p = 0.000) and green product attributes (β = 0.207; t = 3.014; p = 0.003) significantly and positively influence green purchase intention, with the model explaining 60.7% of the variance (R² = 0.607) and demonstrating strong predictive relevance (Q² = 0.539). However, the three moderating variables—premium price, education, and gender—did not significantly strengthen or weaken these relationships, indicating that environmental consciousness and product perception remain dominant factors regardless of demographic or economic considerations. These findings provide practical implications for traditional craft entrepreneurs in developing sustainability-based marketing strategies and empowering the local creative economy, while contributing to the sustainable development goals through cultural preservation and environmental conservation in Indonesia's eastern region.
