EVALUATING GEOGRAPHY BASIC COMPETENCIES IN THE 2013 CURRICULUM IN RELATION TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF STUDENTS’ SPATIAL LITERACY

Edies Rizqi Adelia, Maulida Afna Musoffa, Shinta Ester Debora, Muhammmad Zid, Wini Mustikarani
Abstract: This study aims to analyze the extent to which the Basic Competencies (KD) in Geography in the 2013 Curriculum contribute to strengthening students' spatial literacy. The study used a qualitative descriptive approach with… h content analysis techniques on curriculum documents and source triangulation. The results showed that the Basic Competencies in Geography in grades X, XI, and XII have varying levels of strengthening spatial literacy. Grade X plays a role in building a foundation for spatial understanding related to geosphere phenomena. Grade XI strengthens understanding of spatial interactions through materials on resource distribution, population dynamics, and human-environment relationships. Meanwhile, grade XII is the level with the greatest contribution to spatial literacy through materials on remote sensing, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), rural-urban spatial patterns, and zoning. Although the structure of the Basic Competencies shows gradual development, it is not entirely consistent in demanding advanced spatial skills, especially at earlier levels. These findings emphasize the importance of strengthening learning strategies and supporting school facilities to maximize the potential of Basic Competencies in building students' spatial literacy.

Pembuatan Peta Tematik Berkeselamatan Wilayah Kelurahan Margadana

Aprianto, Rizal, Prasetyo, Ramadhan Dwi
Abstract: Abstrak: Margadana Urban Village is part of the government structure in Tegal City. Lack of spatial information about urban village boundaries, neighborhood boundaries, and other important information deemed necessary. Realizing… ealizing this, the Margadana Kelurahan thematic maps need to be realized for information disclosure, and the need to optimize the potential of the region for the short, medium, and long term. There is a need for integration between RW and RT in order to provide data and information to make it more efficient. In community service, remote sensing is used, followed by FGDs with local community leaders, namely the urban village administration and RW representatives. The purpose of community service apart from facilitating the sharing and exchange of data/information between Community Leaders can also assist in making safe thematic maps which can be used as the basis for spatial planning based on their potential. The people of the Margadana Urban Village can also participate in the process of planning, utilizing, and controlling the spatial use of their urban village area based on their potential. Keywords: margadana urban village; road transportation safety polytechnic; thematic map   Abstract: Kelurahan Margadana merupakan salah satu wilayah adminstratif yang berada di Kota Tegal. The Physical Spatial Development of Tiakur City, Moa Island, Maluku Province, Indonesia

Rakuasa, Heinrich, Reinhard Nolly Limba, Stewart Pertuack, Arda Fadhli Romadhon, Raihan Rabbani
Abstract: Tiakur City, the capital of Southwest Maluku Regency, has undergone significant physical development between 2015 and 2025, driven by population growth and economic activities. This study employs a quantitative approach… using remote sensing technology with PlanetScope satellite imagery to analyze land cover changes. The analysis reveals an increase in built-up land area from 171.29 hectares (7.31%) in 2015 to 395.66 hectares (16.89%) in 2025, while non-built-up land experienced a decline. These findings indicate a rapid development rate and highlight the importance of sustainable spatial planning. In conclusion, understanding the patterns and intensity of land cover changes in Tiakur City is crucial for evaluating spatial planning policies and improving infrastructure development planning for the future.

Analisis Model Spasial Kondisi Lahan Daerah Aliran Sungai (DAS): Mendukung Pengambilan Keputusan Berkelanjutan di DAS Paguyaman, Indonesia

Waode, Faridawaty, Fitryane Lihawa, Hasim, Dewi Wahyuni K. Baderan, Marike Mahmud
Abstract: The Paguyaman watershed in Gorontalo is crucial for life, but it faces land degradation and erosion. This study evaluates land conditions using satellite imagery and spatial data. Results indicate that 58.73% of the area… is in moderate condition, while 27.4% is in poor or very poor condition. Recommendations include reforestation with local species and integrated farming systems to improve soil fertility. Regular monitoring using remote sensing technology is proposed for the early detection of vegetation changes. Collaboration between the government, community, and researchers is essential to achieving sustainable watershed management.

Identification of Flood Prone Areas in Sumatra Barat Province Using Remote Sensing Data and Geographic Information System Based on Machine Learning

Rakuasa, Heinrich
Abstract: This research aims to identify flood-prone areas in West Sumatra Province using remote sensing data and Machine Learning-based Geographic Information System. By utilizing variables such as distance from the river, Normalized… ized Difference Water Index (NDWI), elevation, Topographic Position Index (TPI), Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), and Rainfall Data, this research was conducted on the Google Earth Engine platform. This analysis method supports resource optimization, public education, increased environmental safety, and the development of new technologies and research. The results of the research are expected to assist in mitigation and adaptation to future flood disasters, as well as provide more accurate and comprehensive insights for local governments, disaster management agencies, and communities. With this approach, it is expected to reduce flood risk and increase community resilience to natural disasters.
