The primary focus of this research is on the role of Buddhists in internalizing and implementing the four main pillars of religious moderation, namely commitment to nationalism, tolerance, anti-violence, and appreciation of local culture in the life of the village community. This study uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method. Data collection techniques involve participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. According to Colaizzi, the research procedure refers to the seven stages of phenomenology, while informants were selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data are analyzed through pattern matching, explanation making, and time series analysis. The research results show that Buddhist communities in the village of Rajabasa Lama have successfully implemented religious moderation by integrating the values of the Hasta Arya Marga teachings in Buddhism and the principles of multiculturalism in social life. National commitment, a sense of tolerance, anti-violence, and appreciation for their local culture are reflected in inclusive attitudes, active tolerance, and participation in interfaith activities without creating exclusive boundaries. This moderation process is formed through the practice of wisdom, morality, and concentration expressed in peaceful, ethical, and dialogical social discourse, thus strengthening a harmonious collective identity.

This study uses a qualitative approach with a single case study method. Data collection techniques were done through participatory observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation studies. The research procedure refers to six stages of case studies according to Robert K. Yin, while the informants were selected using purposive sampling and snowball sampling techniques. Data is analyzed through pattern matching, explanation creation, and time series analysis. The study results show that local leadership plays a significant role in contextually building a narrative of moderation through example, deliberation, and social participation. The practice of moderation is not conveyed through formal instruction alone. Still, it is culturally shaped through social interaction, interfaith activities, and strengthening local values that align with national principles. Leadership prioritizing social awareness, openness, and inclusivity has maintained social cohesion and enhanced inter-religious harmony in a pluralistic village. These findings contribute to developing a theory of local leadership based on the values of religious moderation at the grassroots level.

he Indonesian government has promoted the concept of religious moderation, its implementation within church communities remains underexplored. This research aims to identify effective strategies for fostering a moderate and inclusive understanding of religious moderation within Indonesian church congregations. A qualitative methodology was employed using a literature review approach based on relevant scholarly sources. Findings indicate that foundational strategies involve strengthening theological understanding of religious moderation from a Christian perspective, emphasizing core teachings such as love as the greatest commandment, Christian hospitality as practical application, and the theological principle of mutual acceptance (Romans 15:7). Furthermore, the study underscores the vital role of churches in this process through inclusive religious education, improved moderate religious literacy, responsible use of social media, engagement in interfaith dialogue, and systematic training programs. Cultivating a moderate and inclusive attitude requires nurturing humility, reinforcing national commitment in line with Pancasila, embracing diversity, rejecting extremism, and actualizing these values in daily life. To overcome challenges, the study recommends effective socialization, enhanced religious literacy, wise media engagement, collaboration with various stakeholders, exemplary leadership, and continuous program evaluation. The study concludes that religious moderation is an essential contribution of the church to national unity, conflict prevention, the upholding of national values, interfaith harmony, and the strengthening of national identity.

The research employs a historical method with a qualitative approach through the stages of heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography, focusing on M. Quraish Shihab's scholarly works and relevant academic literature. The findings reveal that M. Quraish Shihab's inclusive thought has developed consistently through a dialogue between the Qur'an, the tradition of Qur'anic exegesis, and the realities of Indonesia's pluralistic society. The concept of wasathiyyah is understood as a principle of balance grounded in justice, public benefit (maslahah), and respect for human dignity. Its implementation is reflected in Tafsir Al-Misbah and his other scholarly works, which contextualize Qur'anic teachings within the spheres of social life, education, and nation-building. This study concludes that M. Quraish Shihab's inclusive thought constitutes a significant intellectual foundation for strengthening religious moderation in Indonesia. The novelty of this research lies in its historical reconstruction, which comprehensively integrates the evolution of the concept, implementation, and contribution of M. method used is a qualitative method with an auto ethnographic approach. The data collection technique used was interviews with 5 community leaders. The research results show that Pasue culture is a culture that has existed for a long time, and is practiced in the Ndao Island community (Ndao people). At a certain time, namely before the harvest season, there is a Kalela tradition, which is a tradition of visiting friends from one village to another bringing provisions from the harvest. The Christian pedagogical values contained in this culture are: 1) Friendship knows no boundaries, just as Christ called us his friends; 2) Friendship begins with a bond of promise and promises must be steadfast; 3) Chickens are cut and blood Chicken is a symbol (of life) that is shed for togetherness, therefore it must be maintained so that it continues to live together; 4) Eating together is a way to sit side by side in all circumstances, regardless of ethnic or religious differences. These teaching values are the basis for religious moderation in the Ndao Island community or Ndao people.

Islamic education, as the main instrument, is expected to be able to bring about meaningful changes in these three fields. Education is an essential asset in improving the quality of human resources so that the values and experiences of education based on Islam, individuals will continue to be inspired by Islamic values throughout their lives. Through the implementation of an Islamic-based economic system, a social system based on Islam, and a political system that breathes the spirit of Islamic values, successful social, economic, and political transformation in Indonesia can be realized. Universal Islamic values such as moderation, humanity, justice, deliberation, public benefit, unity, honesty, discipline, and tolerance are the basis for the development of various systems in Indonesia. If the Islamic education system is implemented well, it will be proven to make a unique contribution to the existing system. Friendly and loving Islam is the foundation of the social system in Indonesia.

yet become a strong force in transforming the mindset of the younger generation, particularly in fostering a moderate understanding of religion to support the creation of a harmonious, dynamic, and diverse society. The community service team used the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method, which consists of three main stages: Focus Group Discussion (FGD), Training, and Implementation. Based on findings from the field activities, the following conclusions can be drawn: a) Educators are capable of formulating and implementing the Independent Curriculum based on Religious Moderation. b) There is active involvement of students, allowing the acquired knowledge to be applied in their daily lives. c) The community’s understanding of religious moderation has contributed to environmental harmony, encouraging people to better preserve and nurture human resources as vital sources of life that must be protected.

Abstrak : Pengabdian Kepada Masayarakat ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan pendidikan yang ada di kampung Segeram dimana berkembang paham keagamaan yang bersifat apologis dan tektual. Lembaga Pendidikan yang ada di Kampung Segeram tidak banyak menjadikan kekuatan perubahan pola pikir Masyarakat muda di Kampung Segeram, terutama dalam pemahaman agama yang moderat untuk menopang bangunan Masyarakat yang harmonis, dinamis dan beragam. Tim PKM menggunakan Metode Participary Action Reaserch (PAR) dimana memiliki 3 tahapan utama yaitu : FGD, Pelatihan dan Implementasi. Berdasarkan temuan pada kegiatan pengabdian di lapangan, maka dapat ditarik kesimpulan sebagai berikut: a)Tenaga pendidik sudah mampu merumuskan dan menerapkan materi Kurikulum Merdeka Berbasis Moderasi Beragama. b) Perlibatan aktif peserta didik sehingga pengetahuan yang diperoleh dapat diterapkan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. c) Pemahaman masyarakat terkait moderasi beragama berdampak pada tercipta harmonisasi alam sehingga masyarakat lebih menjaga dan merawat sumber daya manusia sebagai sumber kehidupan yang harus dijaga.

penelitian ini berkaitan dengan keberagaman masyarakat Indonesia, yang menuntut pendekatan yang seimbang dalam menjalankan ajaran agama agar tercipta kedamaian dan keharmonisan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan analisis literatur untuk mengkaji teks-teks sumber primer dan sekunder terkait Maqashid Syari'ah dan moderasi beragama. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa moderasi beragama, yang berlandaskan pada tujuan Maqashid Syari'ah, berfokus pada perlindungan terhadap lima aspek pokok: agama, jiwa, akal, harta, dan keturunan. Penerapan prinsip moderasi ini dalam masyarakat Indonesia dapat menciptakan suasana toleransi, keadilan, dan saling menghormati antar umat beragama. Selain itu, moderasi beragama juga berperan dalam menghindarkan ekstremisme dan kekerasan, serta mendukung terciptanya masyarakat yang adil dan sejahtera. Kesimpulannya, moderasi beragama dalam kerangka Maqashid Syari'ah memiliki potensi besar untuk memperkuat persatuan dan keberagaman di Indonesia, serta menjadi landasan untuk membangun kedamaian sosial yang berkelanjutan.
