RECONSTRUCTING QUR’AN-BASED DIGITAL COMMUNICATION ETHICS: A THEMATIC TAFSIR ANALYSIS OF QS. AL-HUJURAT VERSES 11–13 FOR STRENGTHENING CHARACTER EDUCATION

Tampubolon, Sintong, Fernando, Derri Adi, Ilahi, Afdhal
Abstract: The advancement of digital communication has generated a range of ethical challenges, including cyberbullying, insults, negative labeling, the dissemination of unverified information, privacy violations, digital ghibah (backbiting),… backbiting), polarization, and discrimination. These challenges call for an ethical framework that is not merely technical in nature but is also firmly grounded in Islamic values. This study aims to reconstruct a Qur’an-based digital communication ethics framework through a thematic analysis of Qur’anic interpretation of QS. Al-Hujurat verses 11–13 and to examine its relevance to strengthening character education. This qualitative study employs a library research approach using thematic Qur’anic interpretation, content analysis, and contextual analysis of the Qur’an, classical and contemporary exegetical works, as well as scholarly literature on digital communication and character education. The findings reveal that QS. Al-Hujurat verses 11–13 embody eight ethical principles that can be reconstructed within the context of digital communication: Dignity Protection, Respectful Communication, No Negative Labeling, Critical Verification, Privacy Protection, Responsible Speech, Inclusive Interaction, and Digital Equality. These eight principles are synthesized into the Qur’anic Digital Communication Ethics Framework (QDCEF), which comprises three overarching dimensions: Dignity, Responsibility, and Inclusion. The framework is further mapped onto the character values of respect, empathy, civility, tolerance, critical thinking, objectivity, trustworthiness, responsibility, integrity, justice, and self-control. These findings affirm that QS. Al-Hujurat verses 11–13 are relevant not only as a source of moral and character education but also as a conceptual foundation for reconstructing a digital communication ethics framework that bridges Qur’anic values with the demands of character education in the digital era. The proposed QDCEF thus offers a value-based conceptual framework for fostering ethical, responsible, inclusive, and character-oriented digital communication.

LEADERSHIP AND WORK-LIFE AS DRIVING FACTORS FOR EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT AND PERFORMANCE

Ohoiwutun, Stanislaus Kostka, Rahawarin, Mohamad Arsad
Abstract: This study examines how leadership and work-life balance influence employee performance directly and indirectly through employee engagement at the Fisheries Service of Central Maluku Regency. A descriptive quantitative,… causal-correlational design was applied to the entire population of 49 employees using total sampling. Data were analyzed through descriptive statistics, path analysis, and Sobel tests to estimate direct, indirect, and mediating effects. The findings show that leadership significantly affects employee engagement (beta = 0.582; p < 0.001), while work-life balance also has a significant, although smaller, effect on engagement (beta = 0.129; p = 0.005). Employee engagement strongly affects performance (beta = 0.942; p < 0.001). In contrast, the direct effects of leadership (beta = 0.034; p = 0.613) and work-life balance (beta = -0.008; p = 0.756) on performance are not significant. Sobel testing confirms that employee engagement mediates the effect of leadership on performance (p = 0.00015) and the effect of work-life balance on performance (p = 0.03). The model explains 92.4% of the variance in performance. The study's novelty lies in demonstrating, within a local public-sector context, that leadership and work-life balance improve performance primarily by strengthening employee engagement rather than through direct effects. These findings imply that public organizations should prioritize engagement-oriented leadership and work-life policies to achieve sustainable employee performance.

Prilly Thristany Putri, Hartanti, RM Tedy Aliudin

ESG Disclosure, Green Investment, Sustainability Reporting Quality, and Firm Value: The Moderating Role of Firm Size in Indonesian Energy Companies

Craudia, Windi, Safitri, Heni, Hariyanto, Dedi
Abstract: This study examines the effect of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) disclosure, green investment, and sustainability reporting quality on firm value, with firm size as a moderating variable in energy sector companies… panies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange in 2024. The study employed a quantitative associative approach using secondary data obtained from annual reports, sustainability reports, and financial statements. Purposive sampling produced 65 observations that met the research criteria. Data were analyzed using Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA), supported by classical assumption tests and hypothesis testing. The findings indicate that ESG disclosure does not significantly affect firm value. In contrast, green investment and sustainability reporting quality have positive and significant effects on firm value. Firm size also has a positive and significant direct effect on firm value. However, firm size does not moderate the relationship between ESG disclosure, green investment, or sustainability reporting quality and firm value. Simultaneously, ESG disclosure, green investment, and sustainability reporting quality significantly affect firm value. The first regression model explains 36.0% of the variation in firm value, while the moderation model explains 74.4%. These findings imply that energy sector companies should prioritize concrete green investment initiatives and improve the quality, completeness, and credibility of sustainability reporting to strengthen market value and stakeholder confidence.

Syofiah, Putri Nelly, Primasari, Eka Putri, Muthia, Gina, Hayati, Masni, Trisdawati, Tiya
Abstract: Early childhood development is influenced by nutrition, health, caregiving, and opportunities for age-appropriate stimulation (World Health Organization, 2020). This study examined the association between maternal knowledge… dge of early stimulation and developmental screening outcomes and compared developmental outcomes between stunted and non-stunted toddlers. A quantitative analytic study with a cross-sectional design was conducted among 125 mother–toddler pairs in the working area of Balaiselasa Public Health Center, Pesisir Selatan Regency, Indonesia. Maternal knowledge was assessed using a structured questionnaire, developmental status was screened using the Kuesioner Pra Skrining Perkembangan (KPSP), and stunting was determined from length/height-for-age according to age and sex. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Pearson’s Chi-Square test. Moderate maternal knowledge was found in 59 mothers (47.2%). Developmental screening outcomes were appropriate in 68 toddlers (54.4%), questionable in 48 (38.4%), and deviant in 9 (7.2%). Maternal knowledge was associated with developmental screening outcomes (χ²=10.187; df=4; p=0.037; Cramer’s V=0.202). Stunting status was also associated with developmental category (χ²=6.279; df=2; p=0.043). Because some expected cell counts were below five, the chi-square findings should be confirmed using an exact or Monte Carlo test. The findings support integrated maternal education, developmental screening, growth monitoring, and nutritional follow-up in primary health services.
