Abstract:Twenty-first-century education requires students to possess critical thinking abilities and science process skills in order to respond to the advancement of science and technology and to solve problems scientifically and…
systematically. Empirical conditions in schools indicate that junior high school students’ critical thinking skills remain relatively low because science learning is still predominantly teacher-centered and insufficiently engages students in scientific investigation activities. This study aimed to determine the relationship between science process skills and the critical thinking skills of eighth-grade students at SMP Negeri Tindaret on the topic of the human excretory system. The study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational research design. The research sample consisted of 25 students selected through purposive sampling techniques. Data were collected using a critical thinking skills test and an observation sheet assessing science process skills. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics and the Pearson Product-Moment correlation test. The findings revealed that students’ critical thinking skills obtained a mean score of 75.80, while science process skills achieved a mean score of 73.00, both categorized as fairly good to high. The correlation analysis produced a coefficient value of 0.732 with a significance level of 0.000, indicating a strong and significant positive relationship between science process skills and students’ critical thinking skills. The findings further demonstrated that students who actively engaged in observation, experimentation, data processing, and scientific communication exhibited better analytical abilities and conclusion-drawing skills. The novelty of this study lies in revealing the empirical relationship between science process skills and critical thinking skills specifically in the topic of the human excretory system at SMP Negeri Tindaret, as well as in providing recommendations for science learning based on scientific investigation to strengthen students’ higher-order thinking skills in the twenty-first century.
Abstract:The development of digital technology has transformed how elementary school children interact with information through the dominance of images, videos, and interactive media, while instructional practices remain largely…
text-based and verbal. The mismatch between children’s neurocognitive characteristics and text-based instructional design creates a pedagogical gap that may hinder memory retention, attention, and learning motivation. This study aims to analyze the urgency of visual-based learning and the impact of textual design incompatibility on student learning outcomes in the digital era. The study employs a systematic literature review approach by synthesizing findings from neuroscience, cognitive psychology, and multimedia learning theory relevant to elementary education. The results indicate that the visual system has a strong neurobiological foundation, supports faster information processing, enhances long-term retention, and strengthens the formation of conceptual mental models when integrated with verbal narration. The findings also reveal that digitalization without instructional design grounded in cognitive principles risks generating excessive cognitive load and the screen inferiority effect. The study concludes that adaptive visual integration based on multimedia principles and cognitive load management constitutes a fundamental strategy for improving the quality of elementary education. The novelty of this research lies in its integrative neuro-pedagogical approach, which systematically connects neuroscience findings, learning theories, and instructional design practices to reconstruct the paradigm of twenty-first-century learning.
Abstract:The development of adaptive and multisensorial learning media is a critical aspect in supporting the success of inclusive education, particularly for visually impaired students who face challenges in comprehending abstract…
ct concepts in science subjects. These limitations necessitate innovative learning media capable of optimizing information processing through alternative sensory modalities, namely auditory and tactile. Audio-tactile media represents an innovation that simultaneously integrates sound and touch stimulation to facilitate multisensorial conceptual understanding and enhance the cognitive construction of visually impaired students. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach utilizing observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation techniques to evaluate the effectiveness of audio-tactile media in the context of science learning within inclusive classrooms. The results indicate that audio-tactile media significantly improves conceptual understanding, learning motivation, and active participation among visually impaired students. Additionally, this media strengthens social interaction among students and supports teachers in delivering material inclusively and responsively to individual learner needs. The novelty of this research lies in the application of learning media that combines two sensory modalities as an innovative pedagogical strategy to overcome cognitive barriers caused by visual impairment, while simultaneously enriching the multisensorial learning experience. These findings contribute significantly to the development of an adaptive, inclusive, and equitable science learning model for students with special needs. Accordingly, audio-tactile media is recommended as an effective alternative to create an inclusive and high-quality learning environment.

in phonological processing. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the phonic method in improving the reading skills of slow learners through a structured intervention approach. The central research problem addresses how the phonic method can be appropriately adapted to overcome reading difficulties in children with learning delays. The subject of this study was a fifth-grade elementary school student who exhibited marked delays in recognizing letter sounds, constructing words, and understanding simple sentence structures. A case study approach was employed, involving a six-session individualized intervention designed in gradual stages. Each session focused on developing phonological skills, including phoneme identification, blending sounds into syllables, phoneme segmentation, and the introduction of complex patterns such as digraphs and diphthongs. The results demonstrated significant improvement in the subject’s reading ability, evidenced by increased accuracy in letter-sound recognition, reading simple words, and constructing short sentences. Although minor errors in pronunciation and word structure persisted, the subject’s consistent progress throughout the intervention confirmed the phonic method as an effective and applicable approach to teaching reading to slow learners. In conclusion, the phonic method successfully addressed phonological barriers through strategies tailored to the learner’s cognitive profile. The novelty of this study lies in its implementation of the phonic method as a step-by-step phonological intervention model within the context of inclusive primary education an area that remains underexplored and underutilized in both educational practice and research in Indonesia.

the role of the village government in developing the Pasir Bentang tourist attraction in Sukamanah Village. The method used in this research is descriptive analysis. There were 7 informants. Data collection techniques are literature study, field study (observation and interviews) and documentation. The author uses qualitative data analysis techniques by processing data from interviews and observations to draw conclusions so that they can answer the problems in the research. Based on the research results, it is known that: The village government has not optimally carried out its role in developing the Pasir Bentang tourist attraction considering that there are several indicators of the dimensions of the role that have not been optimal, causing the development of the Pasir Bentang tourist attraction to be less than expected. This includes, among other things, a lack of response from the community in activities. deliberations on planning the development of tourist attractions and the lack of an active role in managing tourist attractions. Budget limitations mean that it has not been optimal in structuring the Pasir Bentang tourist attraction. Apart from that, the collaboration between Pokdarwis and LMDH has not been able to increase the development of the tourist attraction due to the lack of clear authority in managing the tourist attraction. As well as the lack of encouraging community participation in realizing sustainability and cleanliness at the Pasir Bentang tourist attraction and not being supported by the availability of human resources who have an understanding of the concept of tourism management so that tourism promotion activities have not been carried out routinely.
