A Case Study on the Social Interaction with the Opposite Sex of Early Adult Women Raised by Single Mothers Since Childhood (Without a Father)

Salsabila, Syifa, Nurlita, Nurul
Abstract: This research uses a case study methodology to examine the social interactions of early adult women raised in single-parent households where the father figure has been absent since childhood. Data were collected through… interviews, observations, and field notes. The study reveals that the informants had strong attachments to their fathers and experienced deep grief upon their fathers' deaths, which led to social withdrawal and reluctance to engage with the opposite sex. The absence of a father figure significantly impacted the informants' social development, particularly in forming relationships with the opposite sex. Informants expressed feelings of loss and were reluctant to open up to others, especially men, due to their grief and a sense of abandonment. Despite these challenges, the informants eventually adapted by accepting the reality of their father’s death, finding comfort in spiritual growth and learning to accept themselves. This study highlights the long-lasting effects of father absence on social behaviors, particularly in early adulthood, and how these individuals navigate their relationships with others.

Analysis Of the Reasons for Merchants’ Reluctance to Accept Electronic Payment Methods

Mansour Omar Altwergi, Fouad
Abstract: This study aims to determine the reasons behind customers' reluctance to adopt electronic payments and how these factors relate to their values. To identify the characteristics of electronic payments that customers find… objectionable and to look into the relationships between those characteristics and people's values by looking at the effects of those characteristics; to offer advice to financial institutions and service providers on how to develop appropriate strategic plans to promote electronic payments in Libya. To achieve these research objectives, the means-end chain (MEC) theory is applied in combination with hard laddering interviews as a data collection method. Subsequently, the data is analyzed using the Association Pattern Technique (APT) to produce the Hierarchical Value Map (HVM). The HVM identifies five main obstacles that keep customers from using electronic payments: a lack of awareness about the benefits and security of electronic payments, a lack of laws protecting users of electronic payments, the unpopularity of electronic payments, the cost of transactions, and the lack of e-payment discounts. The Value Map also revealed that the most important value, safety, can explain the bulk of customers' reluctance to accept electronic payments. The respondents also expressed significant concerns about the economy and the convenience of e-payments. The report offers suggestions for banks and service providers to increase e-payment usage based on these findings.

OVERVIEW OF COMMUNITY STIGMA TOWARD PEOPLE LIVING WITH HIV/AIDS IN GORONTALO CITY

Nirwanto K. Rahim, Ita Sulistiani, Ayu Rofia Nurfadhilah
Abstract: HIV/AIDS remains a major public health concern worldwide, and stigma toward People Living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) continues to hinder prevention and treatment efforts, particularly in regions with limited health literacy.… In Gorontalo City, community stigma persists due to misconceptions about HIV transmission, exaggerated fears, and culturally embedded moral judgments that associate HIV with deviant behavior. This study aims to describe the level of community stigma toward PLWHA in Liluwo Village and identify factors contributing to these attitudes. Using an analytical survey with a cross-sectional design, the study involved 185 respondents selected through stratified random sampling. A structured questionnaire assessed respondents’ HIV/AIDS knowledge, religiosity, and stigmatizing attitudes. The findings reveal that 102 respondents (55.1%) demonstrated stigmatizing behaviors, characterized by avoidance of physical contact, reluctance to live near PLWHA, fear of sharing public spaces, and inaccurate beliefs about how HIV is transmitted. Meanwhile, 83 respondents (44.9%) exhibited no stigma, showing higher levels of HIV-related knowledge, a better understanding of scientific facts about transmission, and a more empathetic and inclusive approach toward PLWHA. The variation between these groups highlights the crucial role of health literacy, cultural norms, and access to accurate information in shaping community attitudes. The study concludes that reducing stigma requires comprehensive and continuous educational interventions, targeted health promotion, and active involvement of community and religious leaders to build a more supportive environment for PLWHA. Strengthening public understanding is essential to ensure equitable treatment and improve the well-being of those affected by HIV.

Abstract: Abstract: Based on data from Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Kota Magelang in July 2018, the highest number of teachers is in group of  IV / a. One of the influencing factors is their reluctance to make scientific publications… cations for the promotion. They do not have enough information about the journal to be addressed, do not yet understand what must be stated in a scientific article, systematics of writing, and how to make a bibliography. The online process is also one of the things they find difficult. The purpose of community service is to improve the ability of teachers to write scientific articles. Partners in this activity were 12 elementary and junior high school teachers in Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Kota Magelang. The implementation time is 4 months consisting of 3 training sessions and following assistance. The material presented during the training included (1) scientific articles in the ranks of teachers, (2) reference managers, and (3) article submissions. The results of the training showed that all participants increasingly understood how to use scientific articles for promotion. In addition, 58% of participants are more aware and able to use the reference manager in Ms Office Word. In the third material, 67% of participants understood and were able to register and submit articles in the Paedagogie Journal.   Keywords: scientific articles, training, scientific publications, classroom action research   Abstrak: Berdasarkan data dari Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Kota Magelang pada bulan Juli 2018, jumlah terbanyak guru berada pada golongan IV/a. STUDENT DEPRESSION SCREENING BASED ON THE OPTIMUM DATA BALANCING AND RANDOM FOREST

Adnan, M. Sayyidul, Budi Santoso, Irwan, Crysdian , Cahyo
Abstract: Abstract: Mental health issues, particularly depression among young adult university students, are often detected late due to stigma and reluctance to seek medical consultation. The objective of this study is to develop… an early screening model employing machine learning techniques, specifically the random forest algorithm, on a dataset of 268 students (aged 17-29 years; consisting of 98 males and 170 females) within a multicultural educational setting. The principal challenges associated with this dataset are class imbalance and the potential for data leakage from clinical scores. This study implements a rigorous feature selection approach that involves the elimination of depression score features and the utilization of the Synthetic Minority Over-sampling Technique (SMOTE) to balance the training data distribution. Furthermore, a Threshold Tuning strategy is employed to prioritize detection sensitivity (Recall). The findings indicate that reducing the decision threshold to an optimal value of 0.25 led to a substantial enhancement in the recall value, increasing it from 36% (baseline) to 77%. A feature importance analysis was conducted, the results of which indicated that Total Social Connectedness (ToSC) is the most dominant predictor. In summary, the present study corroborates the notion that optimizing sensitivity through threshold tuning is of paramount importance for medical screening. Furthermore, social isolation factors emerge as more significant indicators of depression risk than demographic attributes.             Keywords: data mining; depression; imbalanced data; random forest; smote; threshold tuning     Abstrak: Masalah kesehatan mental, khususnya depresi di kalangan mahasiswa dewasa muda, sering terdeteksi terlambat akibat stigma dan enggan mencari konsultasi medis.
