Permana, Anak Agung Gede Denny Dwi, Cahyani, Anak Agung Ayu Eka, Yanti, Ni Luh Gede Puspita
Abstract: Laboratory examinations play an important role in supporting disease diagnosis and treatment, one of which is the measurement of uric acid levels. The accuracy of laboratory results is significantly influenced by the pre-analytical… -analytical stage, including the type of blood collection tube used. Two commonly used tubes are the plain vacutainer and the clot activator vacutainer, each with different additives that may affect blood clotting time and test results. This study aimed to determine the differences in uric acid test results and clotting time using these two types of tubes. A simple experimental method with a comparative design was conducted at Klinik Pratama Rawat Jalan Mambal Medical Care from March to April 2025. The sample consisted of 15 respondents, each undergoing two blood draws using both tube types. The results showed that the average clotting time for the clot activator tube was 9.27 minutes, while for the plain tube it was 24.67 minutes. The average uric acid level measured using the clot activator tube was 5.27 mg/dL, compared to 5.14 mg/dL using the plain tube. Statistical analysis using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test indicated a significant difference in clotting time but no significant difference in uric acid levels (p > 0.05). It can be concluded that the use of clot activator vacutainer tubes accelerates the blood clotting process but does not significantly affect uric acid levels compared to plain tubes.

ANALYSIS OF RISK FACTORS FOR HYPERTENSION IN BONTO TALLASA VILLAGE, ULUERE DISTRICT, BANTAENG REGENCY

Herdina, Azis, Rahmawati, Amiruddin, Fitriyah
Abstract: This study aimed to identify risk factors associated with hypertension in Bonto Tallasa Village, Uluere Subdistrict, Bantaeng Regency, in 2025. The research examined three factors: family history, excessive sodium intake,… , and stress. A quantitative case–control design was applied to 60 respondents (30 cases and 30 controls) selected through purposive sampling. The results showed that individuals with a family history of hypertension were about 26 times more likely to develop hypertension than those without such a history, indicating a strong and significant association. Excessive sodium intake increased the risk approximately 3.5 times and was statistically significant. Stress was associated with nearly double the risk, but this association was not statistically significant, possibly due to individual differences in coping mechanisms and measurement limitations of subjective stress levels. This suggests that stress may influence hypertension indirectly through behavioral or physiological pathways. In conclusion, family history and excessive sodium intake are significant predictors of hypertension, while stress contributes to an elevated yet statistically nonsignificant risk. Preventive strategies should emphasize sodium reduction, regular blood pressure monitoring, and effective stress management in daily life.

Ni Luh Hepy Karniawan, Moh.Fairuz Abadi, A.A.Ayu Eka Cahyani
Abstract: Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is an endemic disease in Indonesia caused by the dengue virus and transmitted through the bites of Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes. The risk of serious complications primarily… arises during the critical phase, typically between the 4th and 6th days of fever, during which plasma leakage may occur, leading to shock and severe bleeding. Hematocrit levels and platelet counts are important parameters in the diagnosis and monitoring of DHF patients. This study aimed to determine the differences in hematocrit levels and platelet counts during days 4 to 6 of fever in DHF patients at Prima Medika Hospital Denpasar, in February 2025. This research employed a descriptive quantitative design with purposive sampling, involving 35 patients who met the inclusion criteria. The results showed a decrease in hematocrit levels with averages of 42.8%, 42%, and 41.2%, and platelet counts with averages of 87 x 10³/µL, 59 x 10³/µL, and 47 x 10³/µL from day 4 to day 6 of fever. Data were analyzed using the Shapiro-Wilk normality test, the Friedman non-parametric test for hematocrit levels, and the Repeated Measures ANOVA parametric test for platelet counts. Statistical analysis showed a p-value of 0.002 for hematocrit levels and 0.000 for platelet counts. The conclusion of this study is that there are significant differences in hematocrit levels and platelet counts between days 4 to 6 of fever in DHF patients.

DIFFERENCES IN PLATELET COUNTS USING BLOOD SAMPLES WITH K3EDTA AND 3.2% SODIUM CITRATE ANTICOAGULANTS IN DENGUE FEVER PATIENTS

Prasetya, Ni Luh Nova Dilisca Dwi Putri, Anak Agung Istri Ari Trisnaningrum, Putu Ayu Parwati
Abstract: Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) is a viral infection marked by a significant decrease in platelet count. Accurate platelet count testing is crucial for diagnosing and monitoring DHF patients. The pre-analytical phase is a… critical stage in laboratory testing, where errors can significantly impact test outcomes. Anticoagulants, such as K3EDTA and 3.2% sodium citrate, are commonly used in routine hematology tests to prevent blood clotting by binding calcium ions and inhibiting clotting factor activation. This study aimed to evaluate the difference in platelet counts between blood samples collected with K3EDTA and 3.2% sodium citrate anticoagulants in DHF patients. An analytical observational study with a cross-sectional design was conducted involving 50 purposively sampled DHF patients. Statistical analysis yielded a p-value of 0.615 (p > 0.05), indicating no significant difference in platelet counts between the two anticoagulants. It can be concluded that the use of K3EDTA and 3.2% sodium citrate does not significantly affect platelet count results in DHF patients. Future studies are recommended to involve larger sample sizes and consider microscopic examination methods, such as peripheral blood smears, to assess platelet aggregation visually.

Ghea Ardila Wibowo, Oca Fernandes AF, Siti Maesaroh
Abstract: This study aims to find out the extent of gross motor skills of grade 5 elementary school students in SDN 003 Seri Kuala Lobam. The researcher took research samples at the school location in the coastal area. According to… o local elementary school teachers and also the results of researchers' observations over the years, there are differences in the development of both academic and non-academic elementary school students between areas adjacent to the sea and those that are not. including in his gross motor development. Motor development is very necessary for children's development, especially in school. gross motor is a skill that requires coordination of a large part of the child's body. Based on the above opinion, it is concluded that gross motor is a physical movement activity that requires coordination of the limbs by using their large muscles. Students who have good motor skills are able to do sports skills than students who have fission skills. From the explanation above, the researcher wants to conduct research on the Gross Motor Ability Profile of students, where this is the main focus because Gross Motor Skills is very important to be mastered by a person because he can do daily activities, without having good movements he will lag behind others, such as: running, jumping, pushing, throwing, catching, kicking and so on, these activities require and use large muscles in a person's body
