Abstrak: penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperoleh (1) penggunaan role playing atau bermain peran untuk meningkatan percakapan siswa XI-5 SMP Negeri 7 Tanjung Balai; (2) bentuk dari kegiatan pembelajaran untuk berkomunikasi dalam percakapan sehari – hari dengan menggunakan media interaktif; (3) sistem pembelajaran percakapan dalam dialog dengan menggunakan bermain peran; dan (4) peningkatan keterampilan siswa untuk berlatih bahasa inggris dengan menggunakan media interaktif seperti video, gambar dari CD untuk berkomunikasi dalam percakapan dan kemudian siswa mencoba untuk berlatih bahasa inggris dan menggunakan ekspresi di kelas dengan topik sederhana. Kemudian digunakan untuk memberikan latihan berbicara tetapi juga dapat mengembangkan dalam sesi mendengarkan. Kita dapat menggunakan percakapan untuk memperkenalkan dan fungsi mempraktikkan, struktur, atau kosa kata, dan untuk menggambarkan tingkat kesopanan , tingkat formalitas, dan nilai – nilai pencapaian sikap dan budaya. Kita juga dapat bekerja dengan siswa untuk menganalisis dialog tertulis untuk semua materi ini. percakapan berguna untuk mendengarkan dan mempraktikkan pengucapan, intonasi, dan phonologi. Hasil pelatihan ini juga diharapkan dapat memberikan motivasi kepada peserta didik dalam hal pembelajaran aktif, inovatif dan kratif.

The first stage is to introduce and teach participants, how to find material or material to be delivered in public speaking, using the internet. After the material is obtained, they are asked to arrange the sentences that will be delivered in public speaking, then practice them one by one. The second method is to teach and practice the participants to hear a lot while memorizing the words that have been heard, to be memorized and repeated. This method is the basic method of public speaking, which relies a lot on memory, based on what is heard, then memorized. After memorizing, recited in public speaking activities. The third method is one by one the participants learn to recite flat voice intonation, as a basic technique in public speaking. The results of this service are public speaking modules that will be made HKI, popular articles in online media, and scientific articles in public service journals.

Abstrak: Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk memberdayakan masyarakat yang tergabung dalam Yasayan Senyum Ibu Indonesia (YSII), agar berani tampil untuk melakukan public speaking. Pemberdayaan ini perlu dilakukan, mengingat banyaknya kegiatan Yayasan yang memerlukan keterampilan public speaking. Metode pemberdayaan yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini ada tiga tahap. Tahap pertama, adalah mengenalkan dan mengajarkan kepada para peserta, cara mencari bahan atau materi yang akan disampaikan dalam public speaking, dengan menggunakan internet. Setelah bahan di dapatkan, mereka diminta untuk menyusun kalimat yang akan disampaikan di dalam public speaking, kemudian mempraktikannya satu-persatu. Metode kedua adalah mengajarkan dan mempraktikan kepada para peserta untuk banyak mendengar sekaligus menghafalkan kata-kata yang telah didengar, untuk dihapalkan dan diulang kembali. Metode ini adalah metode dasar public speaking, yang banyak mengandalkan daya ingat, berdasarkan dari apa yang didengar, kemudian dihapalkan. Setelah hapal, dilafalkan dalam kegiatan public speaking. Metode ketiga adalah satu persatu peserta belajar melafalkan intonasi suara datar, sebagai teknik dasar dalam public speaking. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah modul public speaking yang akan dibuat HKI, artikel popular di media online, adan artikel ilmiah di jurnal pengadian masyarakat.

design involving 82 participants, organized into two equally sized groups, namely the experimental and control groups. Data collection was conducted through speaking assessments administered prior to and following the treatment. The findings showed that students who received the treatment achieved better improvement in speaking skills than those in the control group. The average score achieved by the experimental group increased from 63.90 to 83.12, whereas the control group’s mean score rose from 66.15 to 74.34. The hypothesis test results revealed a significance value below 0.05 (p < 0.001), providing evidence of a statistically significant difference between the groups. The results point to the fact that the Wordwall application was effective in enhancing students’ speaking skills.. Consequently, Wordwall can be considered an effective technology-based learning tool for promoting speaking skill development in English language learning.

Through content analysis qualitative study, the study attains the targeted exploration. 5 experienced English teachers are selected to conduct semi-structured interviews. The data were analyzed and reviewed by the researchers and experts for affording the valid results. The results provide valuable insights towards the issues that are raised. This study sheds a light on the essence of digital environment in ELT which assists the feasible various sources of learning to be attained. Findings revealed that Connectivism can definitely foster learners’ language skills, such as speaking, listening, and pronunciation through the various digital platforms that are provided. Interestingly, connectivism is advantageous for strengthening learners' 21st century skills, namely critical thinking, collaboration, communication skills, and creativity in learning English. On the other hand, the challenges encountered by teachers in integrating connectivism are 1) inadequate facilities and infrastructure, 2) lack of training and development in educator resources, and 3) low internet network access or the bandwidth.

Meanwhile, the challenges of evaluating and assessing English learning in the independent curriculum include the development of assessment instruments that are in accordance with the principles of the independent curriculum, the integration of continuous formative assessment in the independent curriculum, and aspects of inclusiveness in English learning.

trengths and weaknesses of Controlled Speaking Practices and it was also to find whether Controlled Speaking Practices is effective in improving the speaking skill of senior students or not. The study took place at SMA TA’MIRIYAH Surabaya. The school carried out Controlled Speaking Practices in conversation class in the first grade of senior high school students. Qualitative descriptive approach and observation were applied in this study. The writer used recording and field notes as the techniques in conducting observation. The writer analyzed the strengths and weaknesses of controlled speaking practice which were according to three aspects: the result of practicing the task, how the teacher conducted the task, and the way students’ talk in the class. From the data analysis, Controlled Speaking Practices also can indicate that this is the right technique to improve the students’ speaking skill. The researcher concluded that Controlled Speaking Practices might be a tool of practice speaking English which can assist the students to achieve good speaking English.

rategi tersebut, penerapannya serta faktor penghambat dan juga pendukung yang dihadapi oleh Pesantren Ar- Raudlatul Hasanah dalam mengembangkan Public Speaking para santri. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Karena penelitian ini menjelaskan fenomena yang terjadi di kalangan para santri dan alumni pesantren saat ini. Sumber data diperoleh melalui observasi dan wawancara dengan informan atau narasumber dari Ustadz dan Ustadzah Pesantren Ar- Raudlatul Hasanah, santri dan para alumni.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, dapat diketahui bahwa: Pesantren Ar-Raudlatul Hasanah menyusun beberapa strategi dalam mengembangkan public speaking para santri dan membentuk kepercayaan diri mereka saat berdakwah melalui proses berikut, penekanan bagi santri/wati untuk memahami pesan dakwah yang ingin mereka sampaikan, mengobservasi para mad’uw sebelum didakwahi, melakukan latihan rutin untuk meningkatkan kepercayaan diri, serta teliti dalam mempersiapkan materi.
Langkah-langkah penerapan dari pada perencanaan tersebut ialah membentuk kegiatan-kegiatan ekstrakulikuler dan pemberian tanggung jawab sebagai pengurus asrama. Selanjutnya kegiatan pelatihan tersebut dilakukan secara bertahap dari kelas 1 tsanawiyah hingga kelas 1 aliyah. Beberapa faktor pendukung dalam penerapan strategi tersebut ialah lingkungan pesantren yang mendukung, adanya pelatihan public speaking, pemberian reward dan apresiasi. Adapun faktor penghambat dari strategi tersebut ialah kurangnya motivasi ekstrinsik dari pengajar ahli, kurangnya bekal kakak pembimbing muhadhoroh serta keterbatasan waktu.

This type of language instruction positions communication as both a purpose and a means of learning English. The improvement of students' communication and interpersonal skills is a priority in communicative language instruction. Through contact between students and between students and teachers, it is made sure that students are capable of speaking clearly and confidently in real-life circumstances.
