The Effect of Efficiency, Market Ratio, Liquidity and Leverage on Financial Performance: Evidence from Jakarta Islamic Index 70 (JII70)

Zana, Happiness, Santoso, Suryo Budi, Winarni, Dwi, Pratama, Bima Cinintya, Hapsari, Ira
Abstract: Companies listed in the Jakarta Islamic Index 70 (JII70) provide a unique research context because they operate within an Islamic capital market framework that applies sharia screening criteria and financial requirements.… . Despite being guided by the same sharia principles and regulatory environment, JII70 companies still show variations in financial performance. Although previous research has examined the factors that affect financial performance, empirical evidence regarding the influence of efficiency, market ratios, liquidity, and leverage still shows inconsistent results, particularly in companies that comply with sharia principles. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the influence of efficiency, market ratio, liquidity, and leverage on the financial performance of companies listed on JII70 by using Return on Assets (ROA) as a performance indicator. This study uses a quantitative approach by utilizing secondary data obtained from the annual reports of 57 non-financial companies during the period 2021–2025, resulting in 285 company-year observations. Panel data regression analysis was performed using the Fixed Effects model with Driscoll–Kraay error standard to overcome the problems of heteroscedasticity and autocorrelation. The results show that efficiency measured by Total Asset Turnover (TATO) and market ratio measured by Price-to-Book Value (PBV) have a positive and significant effect on financial performance. Meanwhile, liquidity measured by Current Ratio (CR) and leverage measured by Debt-to-Asset Ratio (DAR) have a positive but not statistically significant effect on financial performance. The findings of this study support the Signaling Theory by showing that efficiency and market ratio provide stronger signals regarding company quality and financial performance in the context of the Islamic capital market in Indonesia. These findings provide practical implications for managers in improving company performance as well as for investors in making more informed investment decisions

The Effect of Work-Life Balance and Career Development on The Organizational Commitment of Employees at The Rimba Belian Palm Oil Mill Unit, Region 5, PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV

Sari, Septi Aulia, Yasmin, Devi
Abstract: Maintaining employee commitment is particularly important in palm oil mill operations, where shift work, physical demands, and limited career development opportunities may affect employees’ attachment to the organization.… on. This study examines the influence of work-life balance and career development on the organizational commitment of operational employees at the Rimba Belian Palm Oil Mill Unit, Region 5, PT Perkebunan Nusantara IV. A quantitative associative design was employed, involving all 114 operational employees through a census approach. Data were collected using a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed through multiple linear regression after completing instrument and classical assumption tests. The findings indicate that work-life balance and career development each have a positive and significant influence on organizational commitment. Both variables also jointly contribute significantly to strengthening employees’ commitment to the organization. Work-life balance showed a relatively stronger contribution, suggesting that employees’ ability to manage work demands and personal responsibilities is particularly important in a shift-based operational environment. This study extends the discussion of organizational commitment to the palm oil agro-industry, which remains less frequently examined than service and public-sector organizations. The findings imply that management should improve shift arrangements, rest periods, access to training, and the transparency of promotion and career development processes to maintain employees’ long-term commitment

Abstract: Mental and spiritual health are crucial aspects of the patient's recovery process in hospitals. In addition to medical treatment, patients also require psychological and spiritual support to help them cope with the various… us challenges that arise from their illness. This article aims to describe the implementation of Islamic Guidance and Counseling services to strengthen the mental and spiritual health of patients at Padangsidimpuan Indonesian National Armed Forces Hospital. Services provided include spiritual guidance, religious motivation, prayer guidance, individual counseling, and emotional support for patients and their families. Through an Islamic approach, counselors strive to help patients increase their patience, sincerity, optimism, and inner peace in facing their illness and treatment. The results of the service implementation indicate that Islamic Guidance and Counseling contribute positively to patients' psychological and spiritual well-being. Patients who receive support tend to have a better zest for life, lower anxiety levels, and a stronger ability to accept and cope with their health conditions. Furthermore, spiritual guidance activities also help patients maintain their religious practices during treatment, providing a sense of comfort and increasing hope for recovery. The presence of Islamic Guidance and Counseling services in hospitals not only complements existing healthcare services but also plays a crucial role in achieving holistic and humane care. Therefore, strengthening these services requires continued development to optimally support patients' mental and spiritual well-being and improve the overall quality of healthcare.

DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION IN ACCOUNTING PRACTICES: EVIDENCE FROM INDONESIAN COMPANIES

Ringo, Henro Siringo, Suhartini, Dwi
Abstract: Digital transformation has changed accounting from a transaction-recording function into a data-driven, technology-enabled, and strategic business process. This study aims to examine how digital transformation reshapes accounting… ccounting practices in Indonesian companies, particularly in financial reporting, management accounting, auditing, internal control, and accountant competencies. The study applies an interpretive qualitative approach through document-based case synthesis and thematic analysis of thirty-five recent national and international studies published within the last five years. The analysis identifies five major themes: automation of routine accounting activities, cloud-based accounting information systems and enterprise resource planning integration, artificial intelligence and robotic process automation in accounting and auditing, the transformation of accountants into digital analysts and business advisors, and governance challenges related to data quality, ethics, cybersecurity, and internal control. The findings indicate that Indonesian companies benefit from digital accounting through faster reporting, improved information quality, more efficient operations, and better decision-making. Nevertheless, the transformation is constrained by uneven digital literacy, limited readiness of accounting human resources, resistance to system change, weak data governance, and the need for stronger ethical safeguards. This study contributes to accounting literature by providing a qualitative synthesis of digital transformation in Indonesian corporate accounting practices and by offering practical implications for companies, accountants, auditors, and accounting education institutions.

The Effects of Market Access and Logistics Efficiency on The Competitiveness of Salt Farmers in Jeneponto Regency

Aswar, Nurul Fadilah, Hasmyati, Anwar, Nur Indah Atifah, Parawansa, Dian Anggraece Sigit, Musa, Muhammad Ichwan
Abstract: constrained by limited buyer options, price-information gaps, high distribution costs, inadequate storage facilities, and fragmented product flows. This study examines the effects of market access and logistics efficiency… y on the competitiveness of salt farmers. A quantitative explanatory survey was conducted with 100 active salt farmers. The three constructs were measured using a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed through multiple linear regression. Market access had a positive and statistically significant effect on competitiveness (p < 0.05), indicating that broader buyer networks, timely price information, alternative marketing channels, and stronger negotiating opportunities improve farmers’ ability to reach markets and sustain sales. Logistics efficiency also had a positive and significant effect (p < 0.05); reliable transportation, lower distribution costs, appropriate storage, proper handling, and shorter delivery times help preserve quality and reduce avoidable losses. The simultaneous test confirmed that both variables jointly affected competitiveness (p < 0.05). These findings indicate that increasing production alone is insufficient when farmers cannot reach profitable markets through efficient product flows. Collective marketing, transparent market information, shared storage, coordinated transportation, and direct relationships with processing industries are therefore essential for strengthening farmers’ bargaining power and market performance

Accounting Standards and Financial Transparency for Public Accountability in Indonesia

Sangkala, Masnawaty
Abstract: This study examines the role of accounting standards and financial transparency in strengthening public accountability in Indonesia. Using a descriptive-comparative literature review, this study analyzes six selected journal… rnal articles published by Indonesian universities that discuss the implementation of accounting standards, financial reporting quality, accessibility of financial information, accounting information systems, and fraud prevention. The findings reveal that the implementation of accounting standards, including SAK ETAP and PSAK 112, contributes to improving the consistency and reliability of financial reporting. However, differences in reporting capacity, limited accessibility of financial statements, and weaknesses in information systems remain key challenges to achieving transparent and accountable financial governance. The study also highlights the relevance of fraud detection perspectives, particularly the fraud triangle theory, in supporting accountability through early identification of financial reporting risks. These findings indicate that public accountability in Indonesia requires not only compliance with accounting standards, but also stronger financial transparency, accessible reporting, reliable accounting information systems, and improved institutional capacity. The study contributes by positioning accounting standards and financial transparency as an integrated framework for enhancing public accountability in both public and private sector contexts in Indonesia.

Cost Structure, Land Productivity, and Price Efficiency IN Shallot Farmers’ Income in Brebes

Hazizah, Eva, Krisdiana, Agustina
Abstract: This study explored how cost structure, land productivity, and price efficiency shape the income of micro scale shallot farmers in Brebes Regency based on farmers' reported financial experiences and informants' financial… narratives. Using an exploratory qualitative approach, data were collected from five shallot farmers, one agricultural extension officer, and one farmer group leader through semi-structured interviews, non-participant observation, and documentation. The data were analyzed through thematic analysis supported by source and technique triangulation. The findings show that reported income is highly vulnerable to variable production costs, particularly labor, seed, and pesticides. Land productivity is closely related to land ownership status and farming scale, while price efficiency is constrained by farmers' weak bargaining position and dependence on intermediaries. Farmers apply adaptive strategies such as delaying sales, drying harvested shallots, and converting part of the harvest into seed stock. However, these strategies are limited by liquidity needs, storage capacity, product quality, and market uncertainty. The study concludes that improving farmers' income stability requires integrated cost control, asset productivity, price information access, post-harvest support, and stronger farmer institutions.

The Influence of Accountability and Transparency of Government Financial Reports on The Achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGS 11) in Indonesia

Astrid, Astrid, Iqbal, Muhammad, Zahra, Femilia, Usman, Rudy
Abstract: This study aims to analyze the influence of accountability and transparency in local government financial reports on the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 11, specifically the indicator of access to decent… ent and affordable housing in Indonesia. The study used panel data from 31 provinces during the 2021–2024 period with a total of 124 observations. The research data were obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK), and official local government websites related to the publication of financial reports. Data analysis was conducted using the Generalized Least Squares (GLS) method with a Random Effect Model (REM) approach. The results of the study indicate that accountability has a positive and significant effect on the achievement of SDG 11. These findings indicate that accountable regional financial management can increase the effectiveness of housing and settlement development programs. Transparency also has a positive and significant effect on the achievement of SDG 11, with a stronger effect than accountability. Openness of financial information encourages public oversight of regional budget use and increases the efficiency of development program implementation. The results of simultaneous testing indicate that accountability and transparency together have a significant effect on the achievement of the indicator of access to decent and affordable housing. The research findings support the theory of good governance, which places accountability and transparency as essential elements in improving the quality of local government governance. This study provides an empirical contribution regarding the relationship between local government financial governance and the achievement of sustainable settlement development in Indonesia.

Do High Potential Employees Always Possess Emotional Intelligence? A Narrative Review of the Competency Based Model in Indonesian Multisector Organizations (2024–2025)

Setiawan, Anang
Abstract: This narrative review explores whether high-potential workers (HiPo) within Indonesian organizations across various sectors consistently exhibit elevated levels of emotional intelligence (EI), and it assesses the relevance… ce of the Competency Based Model proposed by Boyatzis in the identification and development of HiPos. The review compiles freely accessible scholarly articles from 2024 to 2025, with a focus on research from Indonesia and includes one primary benchmark study on high-potential individuals for comparison, as studies specific to Indonesian HiPo are scarce. Findings reveal that being classified as a HiPo does not necessarily correlate with having high EI. Research directly related to high potential employees indicates that cognitive-intrapersonal skills such as initiative, desire for learning, and the ability to think outside conventional limits are stronger indicators of high potential than emotional-interpersonal skills. Research from various Indonesian sectors, including manufacturing, energy, construction, and public services, suggests that while EI plays a significant role in enhancing employee productivity, work performance, job satisfaction, and effectiveness in management, its influence typically operates through mediating factors instead of serving as a direct predictor. Furthermore, talent management research in Indonesia shows that numerous organizations still depend on performance evaluations and fragmented methods instead of comprehensive competency frameworks. This review concludes that the Competency Based Model is relevant in Indonesian organizations across different sectors; however, it should be viewed as encompassing a range of competencies rather than a single attribute. While EI is valuable, it is not an essential or sufficient criterion for determining high-potential employees.

Sela Aditia, Dinda, Nugroho, Catur
Abstract: This study aims to describe the following variables: (1) digital technology adoption, (2) business resilience, (3) women’s empowerment, and (4) financial literacy, and to analyze the effect of digital technology adoption… on on business resilience mediated by women’s empowerment and moderated by financial literacy. The research employed a quantitative explanatory design with structural model analysis using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). Data were collected through an online questionnaire (Google Form). The population consisted of 1,556 women entrepreneurs who own Micro and Small Industry (MSI) units in the food subsector, with 359 respondents selected using proportionate allocation sampling and located in Tasikmalaya, Sukabumi, Bogor, and Bandung. The findings indicate that the level of digital technology adoption among women entrepreneurs is in the very high category, while business resilience, women’s empowerment, and financial literacy are in the high category with potential for further improvement. Digital technology adoption has a positive effect on business resilience and women’s empowerment, implying that higher levels of technology adoption are associated with stronger business resilience and greater women’s empowerment. Women’s empowerment also positively affects business resilience and mediates the relationship between digital technology adoption and business resilience. In addition, higher financial literacy strengthens the effect of digital technology adoption on business resilience, thus functioning as an enhancing moderator in this relationship. The results imply that strengthening business resilience among women entrepreneurs can be achieved by enhancing digital technology–based resources and strategies, integrated with women’s empowerment as a mediating mechanism and financial literacy as a moderating capability for the strategic use of digital technology. Practically, the findings underscore the importance of advanced training programs and an integrated digital ecosystem to reinforce digital technology adoption, women’s empowerment, and financial literacy, while simultaneously building a collaborative ecosystem and continuous interventions focused on sustainable business resilience.
