Abstract:This study examines how a non-diasporic public in the Global South engages with a foreign election in which it holds no vote, no residence, and no direct material stake. Rather than asking how Indonesian netizens represent…
nt Zohran Mamdani, the first Muslim Mayor of New York City, it asks what talking about Mamdani does for these netizens as members of their own polity, and develops the concept of comparative civic imagination: the use of a foreign political figure as a discursive instrument for evaluating, criticising, and re-imagining one’s own democracy. The study applies qualitative Computer-Mediated Discourse Analysis (CMDA) to public Indonesian-language discourse about Mamdani on platform X between 1 November 2025 and 30 June 2026, drawing on a purposively constructed corpus of 213 units—134 citizen-account units as the analytical core and 79 media-account units as contextual triangulation—recoded by comparative function and affective register rather than by stance toward the figure. The findings show that Indonesian netizens engage Mamdani through a comparative architecture organised by the vernacular frame “Mamdani Indonesia” (45% of citizen units) and enacted through three repertoires: analogical personification, institutional benchmarking, and counterfactual transposition. The discourse is animated by civic despair—crystallised in the idiom “Indonesia could never”—which operates as a participatory rather than an apathetic affect, while a domestic value-compatibility filter of doctrinal, sectarian, and purity tests renders the admired model discursively non-transferable, closing a recursive loop theorised here as a digitally networked spectre of comparisons. The article shifts the analysis of transnational digital engagement away from cosmopolitan and diasporic assumptions toward the vicarious engagement of non-diasporic publics, re-theorises despair as a mode of civic engagement, and recovers Benedict Anderson’s spectre of comparisons for platform-era political communication in the Global South.
Abstract:This study aims to analyze the role of corruption in moderating the influence of Village Funds, Local Own-Source Revenue (PAD), and technology represented by the Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE) index on the number…
ber of independent villages in Indonesia from 2023 to 2024. The research was conducted in 34 provinces in Indonesia, except for the provinces of DKI Jakarta, Central Papua, South Papua, and Papua Pegunungan. The study used a panel data regression model with a Fixed Effect Model approach. The results of the study show that: First, Village Funds have a positive and significant effect on increasing the number of independent villages; Second, PAD does not have a significant effect on the number of independent villages, indicating that fiscal independence of villages in Indonesia is still relatively low. Most villages still depend on transfers from the central government; Third, technology, represented by the SPBE index, has a positive and significant effect on the number of independent villages; Fourth, the moderating effect of corruption shows diverse dynamics. Corruption negatively moderates the relationship between Village Funds and independent villages, but conversely positively moderates the relationship between PAD and independent villages. Fifth, the interaction between SPBE and corruption is not proven to be significant, suggesting that the success of digitization in promoting village independence is determined more by the readiness of the technological ecosystem than solely by low levels of corruption.
Abstract:The persistent gap between theoretical instruction and real-world practice remains a critical challenge in business education, particularly in contexts involving Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). Experiential…
learning has been promoted as a pedagogical response to this challenge; however, many initiatives lack structured frameworks that integrate student learning with meaningful community engagement. This study examines the implementation of the BRIDGE model (Build, Reach, Discover, Grow, and Elevate) as a structured business mentoring approach grounded in experiential learning principles. Using a qualitative participatory action research design, the study involved 15 undergraduate business students and five MSMEs in Semarang City, Indonesia. Data were collected through participant observation, in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, reflective journals, and program documentation, and analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings indicate that the BRIDGE model facilitates deep experiential learning by enabling students to connect theoretical concepts with contextual business realities, while simultaneously generating instrumental and symbolic benefits for MSME partners. Despite limitations related to program duration, the model demonstrates strong potential as a feasible and transferable framework for experiential business education in emerging economy contexts.
Abstract:The increased integration of operational technology (OT), Internet of Things (IoT), and business IT systems has allowed sophisticated attackers to circumvent isolated security features and launch cross-platform assaults.…
Current fragmented techniques, with discrete detectors monitoring Modbus, Kubernetes, MQTT, or other domain-specific protocols, cannot handle cross-system risks. These methodologies overlook 68% of multi-vector marketing that uses both physical and digital channels. This study introduces a transfer learning architecture to integrate detection capabilities by correlating threats across protocols, devices, and settings. The architecture generates a unified feature space that extracts behavioral semantics from industrial control system logs, cloud telemetry, network traffic, and device-level signals to produce protocol-agnostic threat representations. Adversarial domain adaptation and semantic graph embeddings enable cross-domain knowledge transfer with minimum retraining. Security teams may now discover kill chains like infected cloud containers preceding illegal PLC command execution every 23 minutes. Validated against real-world attack datasets from water treatment facilities (OT) and cloud infrastructure (IT), the system achieved 93.4% cross-platform attack recall, a 41.3 percentage point improvement over prior methodologies. It reduced OT data labeling by 89% and false positives by 93.5%. This paradigm shift transforms threat correlation from a reactive, domain-specific process to adaptive intelligence, boosting resilience for critical infrastructure, industrial ecosystems, and smart environments facing cyber-physical hazards. The framework's practical validation in energy, industry, and vital infrastructure shows its importance in protecting an increasingly linked world.
Abstract:This study examines the influence of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) on economic growth and its impact on unemployment reduction in the Province of DKI Jakarta. The analysis…
is reveals a significant positive correlation between FDI and economic growth, highlighting the role of foreign capital, technology transfer, and managerial expertise in boosting regional productivity. Similarly, MSMEs contribute significantly to the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) and employment creation, supported by government policies facilitating access to finance, training, and business support. The study also finds that economic growth driven by FDI and MSMEs effectively reduces unemployment rates. Recommendations for policymakers include creating a favorable investment climate, strengthening MSME support, ensuring inclusive economic growth, and enhancing public-private collaboration. These measures aim to sustain the positive impact of FDI and MSMEs on economic development and job creation in DKI Jakarta.
Abstract:Oyster mushrooms (Pleurotus ostreatus) are agricultural commodities with high economic value with good nutritional content. Its cultivation in Jumantoro Village, Jumapolo District, Karanganyar Regency, has great potential…
l because it is supported by suitable natural conditions. However, farmers and MSMEs still face obstacles in the use of manual equipment and less than optimal marketing, so product innovation is needed to increase the added value and competitiveness of oyster mushrooms in the market. As a solution, a mentoring program was introduced with the culinary innovation of oyster mushroom nuggets. This activity includes surveys and interviews with MSMEs, transfer of cultivation knowledge, and production practices. Nuggets were chosen because their texture resembles chicken meat, making them an economical and healthy food alternative. Production is carried out at the MSME's Mushroom House with a systematic method to ensure quality. The results of the mentoring showed a positive response from MSMEs and the community, both in terms of economy and product acceptance. In addition to increasing local income, this program also provides direct experience for students in understanding mushroom cultivation and processing. By optimizing local potential, innovation in processed oyster mushroom products can be a sustainable strategy in supporting village economic growth.
Abstract:The purpose of this study is to investigate how the public-private partnership model based on the construction-operation-transfer model in the case of infrastructure development in Makassar City is utilized in the construction…
uction of the Makassar City Toll Road. After satisfying the requirements set in each case, a public-private partnership contract is concluded. The construction of toll roads is basically done by the government, the Ministry of Public Affairs and a corporate body (in this case PT Bosova Margautama Nusantara) using a build-operate-transfer model (generally a model involving two parties). is constructed by public service users, governments, and service providers are involved in building and operating the infrastructure. After granting the right of use for 35 years as the organizer, it will be handed over to the government after the concession period.
