Utilization of Supervisory Technology to Support Risk Concentration Analysis in The Financial Services Authority

Pardiyono, Hadiprajitno, Basuki
Abstract: In carrying out its integrated regulatory and supervisory function in the financial services sector, the Financial Services Authority (OJK) receives various reports from Financial Services Institutions (LJK), Issuers, and… d Public Companies regarding the receipt and distribution of funds. The complexity of funding and financing relationships between financial service actors creates concentration risks that have the potential to disrupt financial system stability. Experiences from the 1998 Indonesian crisis and the 2008 global financial crisis demonstrate that concentration of exposures and interconnectedness between entities can exacerbate systemic risk. This study aims to identify current supervisory data analysis practices and propose the development of a concentration risk analysis that integrates the loan exposures of large debtor groups with their funding sources. The study used a qualitative approach through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The results indicate that OJK supervisors need an integrated concentration risk analysis across various LJKs and customer groups. Currently, the analysis process is still carried out manually, resulting in inconsistent results and difficult to replicate. The implementation of Supervisory Technology (SupTech) can improve supervisory effectiveness while transforming supervisors' tacit knowledge into explicit knowledge that is documented, standardized, and easily shared. This research contributes to the development of technology-based risk monitoring and knowledge management models in the financial services sector.

The Effect of Balancing Funds and Capital Expenditure on The Financial Performance of City Governments in East Java

Ramadina, Revina, Trisnaningsih, Sri
Abstract: This study aims to examine the effect of balancing funds and capital expenditure on financial performance. A quantitative approach with an associative research design was employed. The population consists of city governments… ents in East Java Province, with a sample of seven cities selected using purposive sampling, resulting in 21 observations during the 2022–2024 period. Data were collected through documentation and analyzed using the SEM-PLS method. The results show that both balancing funds and capital expenditure do not have a significant effect on financial performance. In terms of direction, balancing funds have a negative relationship, while capital expenditure has a positive relationship, although both are statistically insignificant. The coefficient of determination (R² = 0.182) indicates that these variables explain only 18.2% of financial performance, while the remaining 81.8% is influenced by other factors outside the model.

Corruption Perception Index as a Moderating Variable in the Relationship between Village Funds, Local Revenue, Technology Adoption, and Village Independence in Indonesia

Sudarman, Soesilowati, Etty, Sumanto, Agus
Abstract: This study aims to analyze the role of corruption in moderating the influence of Village Funds, Local Own-Source Revenue (PAD), and technology represented by the Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE) index on the number… ber of independent villages in Indonesia from 2023 to 2024. The research was conducted in 34 provinces in Indonesia, except for the provinces of DKI Jakarta, Central Papua, South Papua, and Papua Pegunungan. The study used a panel data regression model with a Fixed Effect Model approach. The results of the study show that: First, Village Funds have a positive and significant effect on increasing the number of independent villages; Second, PAD does not have a significant effect on the number of independent villages, indicating that fiscal independence of villages in Indonesia is still relatively low. Most villages still depend on transfers from the central government; Third, technology, represented by the SPBE index, has a positive and significant effect on the number of independent villages; Fourth, the moderating effect of corruption shows diverse dynamics. Corruption negatively moderates the relationship between Village Funds and independent villages, but conversely positively moderates the relationship between PAD and independent villages. Fifth, the interaction between SPBE and corruption is not proven to be significant, suggesting that the success of digitization in promoting village independence is determined more by the readiness of the technological ecosystem than solely by low levels of corruption.

Procurement Liberation: How School Districts are Cutting 47% of Purchasing Waste by 2025

Dzreke, Simon Suwanzy
Abstract: A mid-sized school district could achieve annual savings of $2.3 million—sufficient to support significant teacher salary increases—by streamlining procurement processes and reducing the number of suppliers from 87 to 12.… o 12. This practical success reflects the operational rigor of enterprise models, exemplified by Walmart Business, which has been successfully tailored for K-12 education. The study indicates a systemic crisis. Sixty-eight percent of U.S. districts experience a 19% loss of their non-payroll budgets due to procurement inefficiencies, resulting in significant financial losses for classrooms attributed to fragmented purchasing and compliance deficiencies. The study employs a rigorous mixed-methods analysis, incorporating in-depth case studies from 35 districts, a national survey of 300 procurement officers, and comprehensive spend analytics, to illustrate the transformative outcomes associated with enhanced procurement maturity. Consolidated purchasing platforms reduce processing costs by 53% and capture 92% of rebates. Additionally, the new Procurement Simplicity Scorecard predicts 79% efficiency gains, offering leaders a practical diagnostic tool. This study presents two validated innovations: the K-12 Procurement Maturity Model, which delineates a phased progression from fragmentation to strategic excellence, and the Zero-Waste Playbook, which details tactical measures for waste elimination. The evidence indicates that reengineering procurement is not merely an administrative concern; it represents a significant, frequently neglected mechanism for generating billions in savings by 2025. These funds have the potential to enhance arts programs, update outdated STEM laboratories, and recruit and retain high-quality educators. This research offers a definitive framework for districts aiming to transform waste into opportunities for equity.

Zebua, Masnia, Buulolo, Nanny Artatina, Gulo, Heniwati, Zebua, Serniati
Abstract: The purpose of this study is to analyze, partially and simultaneously, the influence of seasonal cycles and fish price fluctuations on the financial literacy of fishermen in Sifalaete Ulu Village. Partially, this study aims… ims to determine the effect of seasonal cycles on fishermen's financial literacy, as well as the effect of fish price fluctuations on fishermen's financial literacy. Simultaneously, this study aims to determine the effect of both variables together on fishermen's financial literacy. This study used a quantitative approach with data collected through questionnaires from 57 active fishermen. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression to test the partial and simultaneous effects. The results show that partially, seasonal cycles have a negative and significant effect on fishermen's financial literacy, while fish price fluctuations have a positive and significant effect on fishermen's financial literacy. Simultaneously, seasonal cycles and fish price fluctuations have a significant effect on fishermen's financial literacy. Income uncertainty due to these two factors causes fishermen to experience difficulties in financial planning, lack savings or emergency funds, and tend to rely on debt. In addition, low levels of education and minimal financial literacy training also hinder effective financial management

Analysis The Causes of Bad Credit

Sasmiharti, Juni
Abstract: Bad credit is one of the main problems faced by the banking sector, which can threaten financial stability and bank profitability. This research aims to analyze the causes of bad credit through the literature review method,… od, by identifying and evaluating relevant scientific works. The research results show that the causes of bad credit can be categorized into four main factors: internal factors of the borrower, external factors of the borrower, internal factors of the bank, and regulatory and policy factors. The borrower's internal factors include poor management and weak financial capabilities, while external factors include unstable macroeconomic conditions and intense business competition. Internal bank factors include weak credit assessment processes and inappropriate credit policies, while regulatory and policy factors include less effective regulations and erratic changes in government policy. To reduce the risk of bad credit, banks and financial institutions are advised to improve credit assessment processes, tighten supervision of the use of funds, develop credit policies that are more flexible but based on in-depth risk analysis, and strengthen regulations and supervision. Macroeconomic risk mitigation strategies are also important to maintain financial stability. By implementing these strategic steps, it is hoped that the risk of bad credit can be minimized, support the stability and sustainability of the banking sector, and increase trust and security for all parties involved. This research emphasizes the importance of a comprehensive and coordinated approach in credit risk management to ensure the sustainability and stability of the financial system.
