Mobile Learning Applications for Islamic Studies: A Systematic Review of Design Principles and Learning Outcomes

Ibadurrahman, Muhammad, Asep Supriyadi, Muhamad Nizan Solahudin, Wawan Ridwan, Lina Nuraini, Aas Solihat, Andriyana Andriyana
Abstract: The advancement of digital technology has paved the way for the emergence of various mobile learning applications increasingly used within the context of Islamic education. This phenomenon not only reflects the trend of… integrating technology into modern learning systems but also raises fundamental questions about how these applications are designed and how far they impact learners’ experiences and learning outcomes. This article presents a systematic review of scholarly studies discussing the use of mobile applications in Islamic studies education. The review focuses on two key aspects: the design principles employed in application development and the learning outcomes achieved following their use. The review involved selecting literature from the past six years using specific inclusion criteria, including content relevance, source credibility, and its connection to mobile learning practices in Islamic education. Analysis reveals that designs considering cultural appropriateness, user interface interactivity, and integration of Islamic values positively influence students' emotional engagement, motivation, and content comprehension. Learning outcomes also extend into affective and spiritual domains, not merely cognitive. These findings serve as an initial foundation for developers and educators to build an adaptive, meaningful, and value-based Islamic mobile learning ecosystem.

Flipped Classroom in Islamic Education: A Systematic Review of Pedagogical Impact at Junior and Senior High School Levels

Syamsudin, Ahmad, Rofiani Rofiani, Andriyana Andriyana, Zul Andrivat, Azizah Nur Islami
Abstract: The flipped classroom model has increasingly been implemented as an alternative instructional approach in the digital era, including in Islamic Religious Education (IRE) at junior and senior high school levels. This article… cle aims to systematically examine eight empirical publications from 2021 to 2025 that explore the application of this model within IRE contexts. The review focuses on instructional design, pedagogical outcomes, and implementation challenges. Findings from the analyzed studies suggest that applying the flipped classroom model in IRE can enhance students’ cognitive understanding, foster learning motivation, and develop critical and collaborative thinking skills. However, the effectiveness of this model depends heavily on the quality of digital learning design, the teacher’s readiness to facilitate active learning, and the ability to meaningfully integrate Islamic values into the learning process. In addition, this model faces several challenges, including limitations in technological infrastructure, lack of professional teacher training, and the need for curriculum adaptation. This study highlights the importance of systemic support and digital competency development among educators to ensure that flipped classroom implementation is not merely a technical strategy, but a means of strengthening the spiritual dimension and core values of Islamic education in the digital age.

Grounded… Grounded in framing theory, narrative theory, and social capital theory, the research explores how volunteers construct persuasive anti-drug messages through culturally rooted storytelling, emotional framing, and symbolic communication. Using a qualitative case study approach, data were gathered through interviews, focus groups, observations, and campaign materials with 18 youth volunteers. The findings reveal that volunteers effectively used personal experiences and local narratives to foster trust and collective identity, transforming individual challenges into shared stories of hope and resistance. Emotional strategies, such as gain-framed and fear-based appeals, were deliberately crafted to trigger empathy and promote behavioral change. Volunteers also capitalized on their deep integration within community networks to enhance message credibility and reach, cultivating both bonding and bridging social capital. The study challenges top-down approaches in health campaigns, illustrating the power of peer-led, culturally resonant communication. It contributes a layered communication model for grassroots health advocacy and underscores the transformative impact of narrative-driven volunteer engagement. The study recommends integrating cultural framing in training programs and exploring digital channels to scale grassroots messaging in future research.

Sector-Specific Strategies: How Consumer Goods Companies Navigate Tax Avoidance

Djatnicka, Erlina, Sulistyorini Wulandari, Dian, Dayanti, Iis
Abstract: This research aims to investigate the impact of transfer pricing, thin capitalization, and capital intensity on tax avoidance within the consumer goods industry. The study focuses on how these key financial strategies are… e employed by companies to reduce their tax liabilities while navigating complex global tax environments. Transfer pricing allows companies to shift profits across jurisdictions by manipulating the prices of intra-company transactions, while thin capitalization—the practice of using excessive debt relative to equity—enables companies to maximize interest deductions and lower taxable income. Capital intensity, defined as the ratio of capital assets to sales, also plays a crucial role, as firms with significant physical assets can benefit from tax deductions through depreciation, further reducing taxable obligations. The sample used in this study was selected using purposive sampling, resulting in 23 companies that have complete financial reports and meet the specified criteria. By analyzing financial data and company reports, this research provides insights into sector-specific tax strategies and discusses the ethical implications, sustainability, and regulatory challenges associated with these practices in the consumer goods sector. The analysis shows that transfer pricing negatively and significantly affects tax avoidance, indicating that more aggressive transfer pricing practices may actually reduce tax avoidance activities. In contrast, thin capitalization and capital intensity do not show a significant impact on tax avoidance.

Sandika Rhamadona, Panuju, Redi
Abstract: The digital era has significantly transformed lifestyles, particularly in Indonesia, where computer-mediated communication (CMC) now plays a prominent role in human interactions. In public spaces, individuals often prioritize… itize their digital devices over engaging with those around them. The rise of the internet generation has integrated media and communication into essential elements of daily life. This study focuses on the analysis of hashtag trends related to general elections, such as #capres2024, #cawapres2024, and #pemilu2024, on Instagram, and their influence on user perceptions. It examines the role of hashtags in CMC practices on Instagram during electoral periods. Through the analysis of seven samples, the study reveals that while certain posts align with the electoral purposes of the hashtags, others use these hashtags for visibility without relevance to the elections. The research underscores Instagram’s potential for reshaping political branding and enhancing voter engagement. It demonstrates that the strategic application of hashtags, combined with high-quality visuals and interactive features, can amplify the visibility and impact of political messaging. By integrating CMC and political branding theories, this study presents a framework for understanding how digital tools can foster a more engaged and informed electorate.
