Abstract:This study aims to analyze students’ experiences in conducting self-assessment using the Duolingo Speak application in speaking skills learning at a higher education institution in Indonesia. The focus of this research covers…
covers five main aspects, namely: students’ self-assessment strategies, increased speaking confidence, improved vocabulary mastery, challenges encountered while using Duolingo Speak, and the enhancement of learner autonomy. This study employs a qualitative approach with a case study method, which aims to gain an in-depth understanding of students’ experiences in utilizing Duolingo Speak as a self-assessment tool in speaking learning. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and documentation involving five students selected through purposive sampling, namely students who had used Duolingo Speak for at least one semester. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis through data organization, coding, theme identification, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that the use of Duolingo Speak provides positive learning experiences for students. The application helps students apply various self-assessment strategies, increases speaking confidence, enriches vocabulary mastery, and fosters learner autonomy. However, several challenges were also found, such as limitations in speech recognition accuracy and feedback that is not yet sufficiently detailed to support optimal reflective learning. Overall, Duolingo Speak can serve as an effective supporting tool in speaking skills instruction when combined with structured self-assessment guidance from lecturers, thereby enhancing the effectiveness of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) learning.
Abstract:Fashion sellers on TikTok Shop increasingly rely on live streaming marketing to engage Generation Z consumers, although how well this approach translates into repeat purchases remains underexplored, particularly the extent…
nt to which customer experience functions as a psychological link between the two. This study examines how live streaming marketing influences repurchase intention through customer experience as a mediating variable, focusing on Generation Z fashion consumers who use TikTok Shop in Makassar City. A quantitative design was applied, drawing on a purposive sample of 280 respondents, with data analyzed through SEM-PLS using SmartPLS 4. Findings reveal that live streaming marketing has a positive and significant influence on customer experience, whereas its direct effect on repurchase intention is not significant. Customer experience, in turn, positively and significantly affects repurchase intention and fully mediates the link between live streaming marketing and repurchase intention. These patterns suggest that Generation Z consumers remain skeptical of direct marketing cues and instead give greater weight to personal experience quality when deciding to repurchase. The study extends the Stimulus-Organism-Response framework to the live commerce setting and offers practical guidance for sellers to redirect marketing efforts from promotional intensity toward building immersive, personalized shopping experiences.
Abstract:This study was motivated by fluctuations in the stock prices of mining sector companies listed in the IDX30 index during 2021–2024, Indonesia’s mineral downstreaming policy, and inconsistencies in previous research findings.…
indings. This study aimed to analyze the effects of interest rates and financial performance, as measured by the debt-to-equity ratio (DER) and earnings per share (EPS), on the stock prices of IDX30 mining companies and to examine the moderating role of inflation. The population comprised all mining sector companies listed in the IDX30 index during the year 2021–2024, while the sample was selected using purposive sampling. This study employed a quantitative explanatory approach and panel data regression with Moderated Regression Analysis. The results showed that interest rates had a negative and significant effect on stock prices, whereas EPS had a positive and significant effect. DER did not significantly affect stock prices. Furthermore, inflation did not moderate the effects of interest rates, DER, or EPS on stock prices. These findings imply that mining companies should maintain sustainable profitability and consider interest rate dynamics in financial decision-making. Investors should also consider macroeconomic conditions and company fundamentals when formulating investment strategies.
Abstract:Acute respiratory infection (ARI) is a common health problem among children and may cause serious complications when warning signs are not recognized early. This community service activity aimed to improve the knowledge…
of patients attending the Maternal and Child Health (KIA) clinic at Andalas Public Health Center, Padang. The activity was conducted on April 6, 2026, involving 20 participants. Education was delivered through lectures, discussion, question-and-answer sessions, and demonstrations. Knowledge was assessed using a 20-item questionnaire before and after education. The mean score increased from 14.45 at pretest to 16.10 at posttest, with a mean increase of 1.65 points. The Wilcoxon test showed a significant difference between pretest and posttest scores (p=0.009). The activity indicates that structured health education can improve participants’ immediate knowledge of ARI prevention and home care. Continued education integrated with KIA services is recommended.
Abstract:The discussion about the need for Muslim communities in Muslim countries or those with Muslim majority populations to have an integrated instrument in the fiscal policy has recently been increasingly prominent. At least…
driven by two factors, internal and external. The internal factor is the fiscal policy in the form of taxes that have been implemented by the state by adopting a conventional economic system that has not created what is called social welfare in many Muslim countries. Second, along with de-globalization that has hit the world recently, especially as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, which has reduced dependence between countries, countries have to rethink to get away from dependence on the global economic system, including how to think about policies. fiscal and monetary in accordance with each country and can survive and be useful for dealing with a similar pandemic. One of the Islamic economic instruments that has surfaced in the discussion of the fiscal system is Zakat. Zakat in many studies indicates that it can be an alternative substitute for the tax position in the state fiscal system. The purpose of this paper is to find answers to whether Zakat is able to replace the tax position in the state fiscal policy system. What is its position in economic theory and Islamic law, and how to formulate zakat as a fiscal policy instrument? This paper also includes a discussion of potential conflicts that arise when zakat is applied to replace taxes.

leadership on sustainable performance through the mediating role of employee agility within the context of human capital development. A quantitative explanatory approach was employed using survey data collected from employees involved in digital transformation initiatives. Data were gathered through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to assess the direct and indirect relationships among the proposed constructs. The findings indicate that digital leadership significantly enhances employee agility by fostering adaptability, continuous learning, and responsiveness to technological change. Employee agility was found to have a strong positive effect on sustainable performance, suggesting that agile employees contribute substantially to organizational resilience, innovation capability, and long-term effectiveness. Furthermore, employee agility partially mediates the relationship between digital leadership and sustainable performance, demonstrating that the influence of leadership on sustainability outcomes operates largely through workforce adaptability. These results highlight the critical role of human capital development in digital transformation and provide empirical evidence that sustainable organizational performance can be achieved when digital leadership is effectively translated into agile employee behavior. The study contributes to the growing literature on digital transformation and human resource management by offering an integrated framework that links leadership, employee capabilities, and sustainability-oriented organizational outcomes.
Abstract:constrained by limited buyer options, price-information gaps, high distribution costs, inadequate storage facilities, and fragmented product flows. This study examines the effects of market access and logistics efficiency…
y on the competitiveness of salt farmers. A quantitative explanatory survey was conducted with 100 active salt farmers. The three constructs were measured using a five-point Likert-scale questionnaire and analyzed through multiple linear regression. Market access had a positive and statistically significant effect on competitiveness (p < 0.05), indicating that broader buyer networks, timely price information, alternative marketing channels, and stronger negotiating opportunities improve farmers’ ability to reach markets and sustain sales. Logistics efficiency also had a positive and significant effect (p < 0.05); reliable transportation, lower distribution costs, appropriate storage, proper handling, and shorter delivery times help preserve quality and reduce avoidable losses. The simultaneous test confirmed that both variables jointly affected competitiveness (p < 0.05). These findings indicate that increasing production alone is insufficient when farmers cannot reach profitable markets through efficient product flows. Collective marketing, transparent market information, shared storage, coordinated transportation, and direct relationships with processing industries are therefore essential for strengthening farmers’ bargaining power and market performance
Abstract:The increasing demand for corporate transparency in sustainability practices, the development of ESG reporting regulations in Indonesia, and the persistent issues of credibility in disclosures such as greenwashing and inconsistent…
consistent information quality indicate that Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) disclosures are not always perceived positively by the market. This condition is important because ESG disclosures that are not supported by substantive implementation may be viewed as an additional cost, risk, or merely a form of compliance, which in turn may reduce firm value. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the effect of environmental disclosure, social disclosure, and governance disclosure on firm value by incorporating independent commissioners as a moderating variable. Firm value is measured using Tobin’s Q because it reflects market valuation of the company’s performance and growth prospects. The sample consists of companies included in the SRI-KEHATI index during the 2020–2024 period, with a total of 227 unbalanced panel observations analyzed using panel data regression. The results show that environmental disclosure, social disclosure, and governance disclosure have a negative and significant effect on firm value. Independent commissioners are able to weaken the negative effect of environmental disclosure and governance disclosure on firm value, but they are unable to moderate the relationship between social disclosure and firm value. These findings suggest that ESG disclosure in sustainability-oriented companies is not yet fully perceived as a value-creating factor when it is not supported by convincing implementation quality. Practically, these findings are intended to encourage companies not only to increase the extent of ESG disclosure, but also to strengthen the substantive implementation and supervisory role of independent commissioners to enhance the credibility of sustainability information
Abstract:This study examines the effect of inflation, interest rates (BI7DRR), and exchange rates (USD/IDR) on stock returns of PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk., with the Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) as an intervening variable.…
e. Using a quantitative explanatory research design, monthly secondary data spanning January 2016 to December 2025 (120 observations) were analysed using Pearson correlation and two-stage path analysis (OLS regression). Results indicate that inflation and exchange rates significantly influence IHSG, while the BI Rate does not. However, neither macroeconomic variables nor IHSG significantly affect Telkom's stock returns either directly or indirectly. The model explains only 2.7% of the variation in stock returns, suggesting that company-specific and sectoral factors dominate return determination. These findings imply that IHSG does not serve as an effective mediating channel between macroeconomic conditions and individual stock returns for Telkom. Investors in the telecommunications sector should prioritise fundamental and sectoral analysis over macroeconomic indicators when making portfolio decisions
Abstract:The purpose of this study is to examine how product quality influences consumers' decisions to buy electric cars in Makassar City, using brand image as a mediating factor. The swift expansion of electric vehicle adoption…
necessitates a comprehensive understanding of the factors influencing customer purchasing behavior in this nascent sector. A quantitative methodology utilizing an explanatory study design was implemented to examine the causal links among the variables. The population comprised consumers who had acquired or utilized electric vehicles in Makassar City, while the precise population size remained unspecified. A purposeful non-probability sampling strategy was employed, resulting in 105 respondents who completed a structured online questionnaire sent using Google Forms. The data were analyzed utilizing SEM-PLS with SmartPLS to investigate both direct and indirect effects among the constructs. The findings demonstrate that product quality positively and significantly impacts purchase decisions, product quality positively and significantly influences brand image, and brand image positively and significantly affects purchase decisions. Additionally, brand image serves as a partial mediator in the correlation between product quality and purchasing decisions. The findings indicate that superior product quality in electric vehicles is more influential in influencing purchasing decisions when it concurrently cultivates a favorable brand image in consumers' perceptions, thus offering strategic insights for manufacturers and distributors in formulating marketing strategies that enhance both product quality and brand image.
