Purwanto, Sigit, Ramsi, Oktaheroe, Hendarwoto, Yeremia, Sulistiyanto, Sulistiyanto, Hartono, Rudi, Subiyantoro, Yudi, Utomo, Bambang
Abstract: Community service initiatives grounded in coastal ecosystems represent a tangible manifestation of the non-military defense paradigm, which is increasingly relevant in addressing multidimensional threats. The activity, conducted… onducted by the Faculty of Defense Strategy at the Republic of Indonesia Defense University (Unhan RI) in Kampung Bahari Nusantara, Sidodadi Village, Teluk Pandan Subdistrict, Pesawaran Regency, South Lampung, on May 22, 2026, involved the planting of 5,000 mangrove seedlings, environmental education, and the distribution of basic food aid to 300 fishers. This article analyzes these activities within the conceptual frameworks of coastal area resilience, sustainable ecosystem management, and the synergy between defense institutions, academia, and local communities. Employing a descriptive-qualitative approach through participatory observation and literature review, the findings indicate that mangrove rehabilitation not only contributes to mitigating coastal abrasion and climate change impacts but also strengthens the socio-economic resilience of coastal communities and serves as a vehicle for instilling the values of national defense among students. This activity recommends the reinforcement of the Kampung Bahari Nusantara program as a model for inclusive and sustainable coastal empowerment and proposes the integration of the silvofishery concept to enhance the economic value of mangrove conservation.

William, Daitey, Eddy Mary, Takyi, Nathalie, Bonnah
Abstract: This study investigates the revitalization and preservation of indigenous Ghanaian textiles in contemporary fashion design, emphasizing their cultural significance, economic potential, and modern challenges. Traditional… textiles such as “kente”, “kete”, “adinkra”, and “fugu”/ “batakari” are central to Ghana’s cultural heritage, symbolizing identity and tradition. However, the industry faces hurdles including high production costs, competition from cheaper imports, and diminishing traditional knowledge among younger generations. Adopting a qualitative approach, the research utilized interviews, focus group discussions, and observations involving artisans, fashion designers, educators, and consumers. Findings reveal that despite the immense value of indigenous textiles, their integration into modern fashion is impeded by limited access to raw materials, fluctuating market demand, and inadequate artisan support. Innovative designers, however, are blending traditional textiles with contemporary trends, showcasing adaptability and global appeal. The study recommends strategies such as public education campaigns, financial and technical support for artisans, and stronger intellectual property protections. Promoting sustainable practices, addressing regional production disparities, and fostering designer-artisan collaborations are also key to the industry’s sustainability. This research underscores the role of Ghanaian textiles in economic empowerment and cultural preservation, advocating for a balanced approach that merges tradition with modern innovation to ensure global relevance and sustainability.

Analysis of the Effect of Basic Infrastructure and Human Resources on Gross Regional Domestic Product in Indonesia in 2017-2021

Fitrahmayudi, M. Razaka, Ambya, Ambya
Abstract: Indonesia, an archipelago with a diverse and growing population of 278.69 million as of mid-2023, faces both advantages and challenges in its pursuit of becoming a developed country. The key challenge lies in the unequal… distribution of infrastructure development, especially in remote areas. Economic growth, driven by increased goods and services, is closely tied to infrastructure such as roads, electricity, and water distribution. This study analyzes the impact of these infrastructural elements and labor force participation on economic growth, measured by Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP), across 34 provinces from 2017 to 2021. Using panel data regression, the results reveal that road length, electricity distribution, and clean water distribution have significant positive effects on GRDP. However, labor force participation shows an insignificant impact. Together, these variables explain 57% of GRDP growth. The findings highlight the critical role of infrastructure in economic development, with provinces like Jakarta leading the growth while regions like North Maluku lag behind. Improving infrastructure and addressing regional disparities are essential to enhancing Indonesia’s overall economic performance.

Siregar, Muhammad Hafiz, Tanjung, Muaz
Abstract: This study aims to explore strategies and techniques to overcome verbal communication barriers in an academic context, particularly between lecturers and students during the completion of final projects at the State Islamic… mic University of North Sumatra (UIN-SU). Using interactive communication theory and uncertainty reduction theory, this research provides a framework for understanding and addressing these barriers. The research method employed is a qualitative approach with data collection techniques including in-depth interviews, direct observation, and related document studies. Data were analyzed using content analysis to identify patterns and trends in verbal communication. Triangulation, peer debriefing, and external checks were used to ensure data validity. The research results indicate that the communication model implemented by lecturers greatly influences the effectiveness of guidance and the quality of students' final projects. Communication barriers are often caused by misunderstandings in written communication and differences in expectations. Proposed solutions include effective communication training for lecturers, the use of written communication guidelines, and regular group and individual guidance sessions. The integration of communication technology such as e-learning platforms and online collaboration tools is also suggested to enhance the communication process. By understanding the dynamics of verbal communication and overcoming existing barriers, this research aims to improve the quality of academic guidance and student outcomes, as well as prepare them for communication challenges in the professional world. This study is relevant not only in the academic context but also has broad practical implications.

Sebastian Billy Anggara, Irma Tsuraya Choirinnida
Abstract: This research investigates the policy landscape surrounding social entrepreneurship in Indonesia, encompassing legal and regulatory frameworks, government initiatives, and institutional support for social enterprises. The… e study is crucial as it addresses an understudied area, aiming to inform policymakers, foster collaboration, stimulate economic development, and promote sustainable growth. The methodology involved qualitative interviews with eight social entrepreneurs across Indonesia. Collected data was analyzed using content analysis techniques, facilitated by the MAXQDA platform. Findings indicate that despite social entrepreneurship being an emerging field in Indonesia, there is a notable lack of effective policies and regulations. Six of eight respondents perceived inadequate current regulatory support, and half cited financial challenges as a significant issue. Conversely, seven respondents acknowledged existing government assistance, suggesting a willingness to support the sector. Based on these results, key recommendations for the government to foster a supportive ecosystem include developing non-overlapping policies, implementing substantive policy changes, promoting useful policies, simplifying bureaucracy, and engaging in direct dialogue with social entrepreneurs. The research concludes that addressing these areas can empower social entrepreneurs to create lasting social impact. This study uniquely fills a gap by directly engaging social entrepreneurs, though future research should include government representatives for broader perspectives.
