Economic Satisfaction of Street Vendors after Teras Samarinda Development: A Qualitative Study in Samarinda City

Wati, Karlina, Sutrisno, Reza, Rahayu, Vitria Puri
Abstract: This study aims to analyze the economic satisfaction of street vendors after the development of Teras Samarinda in Samarinda City based on indicators of sales volume, business profit, and financial goal attainment. This… study employed a descriptive qualitative approach using primary data obtained through in-depth interviews with five street vendors who were selected purposively based on their experience of operating businesses both before and after the development of Teras Samarinda. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing techniques. To enhance data credibility, time triangulation was applied through data collection conducted at different times and days. The findings indicate that economic satisfaction has not been optimally achieved among the interviewed vendors, as reflected in declining sales volume, reduced customer numbers, and unstable daily income compared to conditions before the development. Most vendors' profits were only sufficient to cover operational expenses, causing financial goals such as savings, capital growth, and business expansion to remain largely unmet. The study concludes that economic satisfaction tended to be low among the interviewed vendors, although they continue maintaining their businesses as an adaptation strategy to survive in a changing business environment

Andika, Tripan Huda, Ryanto, Fuad Ramdhan
Abstract: This study aims to analyze village financial performance based on effectiveness, efficiency, and growth ratios in Tebing Batu Village, Sambas Regency, during the 2019–2023 period. This study employed a quantitative descriptive… criptive method using secondary data obtained through documentation, including village revenue targets, revenue realization, expenditure budgets, expenditure realization, and financing budget data. The data were analyzed using effectiveness, efficiency, and growth ratio calculations to assess the achievement of revenue targets, the control of village expenditure, and the development of village financial performance over time. The results show that the effectiveness ratio was 60.71% in 2019, categorized as less effective, but improved to 100.25% in 2020 and 100.02% in 2022, both categorized as very effective. In 2021 and 2023, the effectiveness ratios were 99.99% and 99.74%, respectively, categorized as effective. The efficiency ratio remained in the very efficient category throughout 2019–2023, with values ranging from 39.14% to 51.16%. Meanwhile, revenue growth fluctuated, increasing by 57.86% in 2020, declining in 2021 and 2022, and rising again by 1.71% in 2023. These findings imply that Tebing Batu Village needs to maintain budget efficiency while strengthening revenue planning to achieve more stable financial growth.

The Influence of Free Shipping and Online Customer Reviews on the Shopee Platform on Purchasing Decisions of Students of the Faculty of Economics, Nias University

Zebua, Reyan Janefata, Telaumbanua, Aferiaman, Kakisina, Sophia Molinda, Zebua, Serniati
Abstract: This study investigates the role of acquisition premiums in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and their impact on shareholder wealth, focusing on five major Indian deals in pharmaceuticals, retail, banking, steel, and renewable… able energy sectors. Potential synergies often justify acquisition premiums ranging from approximately 15% to 40% above target companies’ market values. However, market responses suggest that such premiums may not consistently result in value creation for acquiring firms' shareholders. Empirical findings reveal mixed outcomes: Sun Pharma’s acquisition of Ranbaxy led to a 9.8% share price increase within five days, while Tata Steel’s high-premium acquisition of Bhushan Steel saw only a 1.7% gain. In contrast, deals like Reliance–Future Retail and Tata Power–Welspun Power showed minimal or negative returns, despite sizable premiums. These patterns indicate that premium size alone is not a reliable predictor of post-deal shareholder wealth creation. The study concludes that M&A success depends more on strategic fit, market timing, and sectoral dynamics than on the premium offered. This analysis contributes to the broader M&A discourse by offering evidence-based insights into how premium valuations can either maximise or dilute shareholder value, aiding investors, corporate strategists, and policy analysts in deal assessment.

Understanding Accounting Practices in Culinary MSMEs In The Tanjung Bunga Metro Area, Makassar City

Saleh, Andi Mulia, Alimuddin, Said, Darwis
Abstract: The focus of research shifts from the dominance of positivism to a non-positivistic approach that places meaning, interpretation, and social construction at the center of analysis. One of the main approaches within this… paradigm is Grounded Theory Research (GTR), a qualitative method developed by Glaser and Strauss (1967) to build empirically data-based theory through a rigorous inductive process. In the accounting context, GTR becomes increasingly relevant because reporting practices, accountability, and financial decision-making cannot be understood solely through objective measurements, but rather through social interactions, organizational values, and the interpretations of the actors involved (Ahrens & Chapman, 2006). This article aims to examine the role and relevance of GTR in modern accounting research by highlighting its philosophical foundations, methodological procedures, and contributions to the development of practice-based accounting theory. Through a systematic literature review, it is found that GTR has the ability to uncover the social dynamics that shape accounting practices such as accountability, ethics, managerial control, and institutional legitimacy that have previously been overlooked by positivistic approaches (Charmaz, 2006; Bryant & Charmaz, 2007). GTR has also proven relevant in the context of changing reporting systems, accounting digitalization, and the integration of sustainability principles such as ESG, where meaning, professional identity, and interpretive processes are dominant elements (Adams & Larrinaga, 2019). The study's findings confirm that GTR not only offers a systematic method for data collection and analysis, but also provides a more reflective, context-sensitive epistemological framework capable of generating substantive theory that is truly rooted in organizational reality. Thus, GTR is a powerful methodological alternative in enriching accounting knowledge, while providing a deeper understanding of how accounting practices are executed, negotiated, and interpreted in everyday organizational life.

Abstract: This study aims to design the warehouse tata letak at PT MIKRON PRESISI INDONESIA that experiences post-relocation irregularities in production facilities, along with adjustments to the area area and available rental costs.… ts. The absence of a racking system and clear classification of goods has caused the storage, retrieval, and work safety processes to not run efficiently. The research approach uses a qualitative descriptive method by collecting data through field observations, interviews, and documentation. The tata letak design was carried out by implementing the Activity Relationship Chart (ARC) and Activity Relationship Diagram (ARD) methods, then tested through simulations using FlexSim software with two operator scenarios. The simulation results showed that the proposed alternative tata letak design was able to improve the workflow by grouping goods into seven categories and arranging shelves based on the level of proximity of activities. However, the utilization rate of operators is still relatively low, namely 17.65% and 19.78%, due to the periodic pattern of goods arrival and efficient search times due to a more structured storage system. These findings indicate opportunities for human resource optimization through reducing the number of operators or adjusting workloads. The resulting tata letak design makes a practical contribution to improving warehouse space efficiency and operations, and can be used as a reference for applications for companies with similar characteristics.

Mohammad Imam Sufiyanto, Khairunisa, Roviandri, Hesti Kusumawati, Rocyhan Yasin
Abstract: This study aims to examine the learning motivation of elementary school students, identify the efforts made by teachers to enhance students’ motivation, and analyze the supporting and inhibiting factors involved. The study… tudy employs a qualitative approach using a descriptive method. The researcher collected data through interviews, observations, and documentation involving five teachers at MI Nurul Islam, Pamekasan. The findings reveal that students’ learning motivation varies, ranging from high to low levels, influenced by both internal and external factors. Teachers make several efforts to improve students’ motivation, including creating an enjoyable learning environment, applying innovative teaching methods such as discussions, quizzes, and audio-visual media, providing rewards, and involving parents in the educational process. Supporting factors include parental support, a conducive learning environment, and the use of engaging learning media. In contrast, inhibiting factors consist of limited facilities, students’ low basic abilities, and a lack of support from the family environment. Therefore, creative and collaborative teachers play a crucial role in enhancing students’ learning motivation.

Ulpa, Eska Prawisudawati, Siti Tsabitah Suryakusuma, Mustamira Sofa Salsabila
Abstract: A The phenomenon of adolescents lacking independence has attracted the attention of many parties, particularly within the school and family environments. For instance, many teachers and parents report that junior high school… hool students still rely on their parents for simple matters, such as preparing school supplies, arranging study schedules, and even choosing extracurricular activities. On the other hand, there are also adolescents who demonstrate a high level of independence because they are accustomed to making their own decisions at home. This research uses a quantitative method with purposive sampling as the sampling technique. The subjects involved in this study consist of 100 early adolescents from Bandar Lampung. The reliability of the independence scale was 0.781 and the parental bonding scale was 0.725. This is shown by the correlation coefficient value of R = 0.347 and R² = 0.120, with a significance level of p < .001.
